The 4-star rating is because my nails look good. Tammy did a nice job on my pedicure, but there were some concerns: The nail nipper she used came out of an already opened package. I didn't think much of it, until I saw her wipe it off and place it on top of the packaging when I was finished. Gave me the impression she was going to place it back in and forego the sanitization process. Can't confirm nor deny, so I'll see how another visit might go if I'm in the area. Filed the sides of my nails even after I asked to not clip them to avoid ingrown nails. And she filed them like I got acrylic instead of shellac, not sure why. I had to ask for a beverage, which I got when my service was almost finished. Asked for a price list, and was told they were on order as she pointed at the front counter. I'm already in the chair... Won't be back! $140 later and I actually have to get them redone. I came in with beautiful long coffin nails and that's all I wanted, instead they cut them way shorter. Couldn't do the design I asked for and my nails are square instead of coffin! Also the lady was rushing and she cut me! I've never had anyone get so close to my skin that I got cut. I went in and got my nails done which I hardly ever do. I went to this place because my first time was a great experience they painted my natural nails and I told them not to cut them or shape them but this time I wanted acrylics. My nails look good from afar but I noticed it hurt when she was framing my nails. She would say to me "you okay" and I nodded yes because sometimes it hurts because it's something I am not use to.. when she finished I noticed 3 of my fingers stinging and started to bleed which fine whatever I just want to leave at this point. But the second I left and started to actually move my hand like normal they are started to just bleed so much! My hands are in so much pain. I have went to contempo some time and through that time i have noticed how rushed the workers are to refill acrylic sets. I got a full a week ago and 3 of them have already broken and the paint is chipped. I could tell when they were doing my nails that she did not put enough powder for them to be strong enough to last. They still charged me almost the same amount for a full set. When i called and complained they said they do not do refunds to anyone. This is unacceptable my nails should not be breaking and chipping within 5 days of getting them done. read more

Ne was my technician, and she was very gentle and kind. She complimented my color and shape choice which made me very happy. It was done quick, maybe 30 mins. Used to always go here and no longer am. Rushed work, even the owner will try and rush everything. I've been cut before and let it go. But, I went in recently to get a basic French tip and the white went all the way down half of my nail. I asked the owner to make it smaller after she showed me the first nail she painted. She made that nail tip slightly smaller and then didn't even bother to take the time to make my other ones smaller. Going to another place to get them fixed. Not very happy with my experience. Walked in the door and told the gentleman that I just needed a polish change - I was honestly just killing time before my doctors apt! Asked the gentleman how much the polish change would be for my hands and toes and he said 8. So to clarify I said 8$ for both or 8$ for each! And he held up both hands and said both. So I said both and pointed at my toes too - he nodded. COOL I'm thinking that's a great price for 10 minutes of work, right? I picked my polish and he told me to sit at 6 so I walked down to six and he got upset with me bc he was sitting at 2 and I wasn't at 2 I was at 6! So he get annoyed and moved all his stuff umh ok dude ... you definitely said 6 but ok!! Took off my polish left some of my orange polish in the corners but no big he seems to have a plan!! Puts on the clean on my hands and polish of my choice then goes back with a brush to clean up the edges. Didn't really check his work for him bc I think it's rude when people check my work. I decided last minute to get my eyebrows done and so the lady took me to the back and she got started right away. I took a second to look at my nails and YIKES!! The acetone dried up my cuticles as expected and he just painted on over them and left the polish stuck in the corners. bummed. The eyebrow lady told me everything that was wrong with my eyebrows and how they're thin on one side and out of control... umhhh yea thats why I'm here getting them done THANKS!! Then I told them NEVER MIND on my toes bc I'm afraid they're going to turn out like my hands... so the lady gets annoyed (there weren't very busy so I totally understand that she was expecting that money but I'm not chancing it). I go to pay and she says 18$ and I asked her why. Explained that the gentleman said 8$ for BOTH and I didn't get my toes done after all. She TOLD me that he said 8$ for "BOTH HANDS" seriously? In what would would I only want one hand polished...? So I paid 8$ for TWO HANDS of polish stuck on dried out acetone skin and 10$ to get yelled at that my eyebrows needed to be contained. that solidifies I will NOT be coming back regardless of the time I'm looking to kill. Previously, I was a regular at one of Contempo's nearby competitors. When the competitor lost their original nail techs and hired new nail techs that didn't know what they were doing, I decided to give Contempo a try. I'm very happy with my decision and have been going to Contempo ever since then. The owner is very sweet and friendly. All of the nail techs do a great job, never had any issues! If you're wanting a quick mani/pedi, let them know and they can have one person do your mani and another do your pedi to cut your time in half. If you're not in a hurry and want to relax, they will definitely accommodate that also. This nail salon is very clean and does not have that over-powering smell of acetone. My favorite thing is they have A MILLION color choices for gel/shellac. They do a great job here with your nails, I get compliments on my manicure all the time. My shellac manicure lasts 3 weeks and I work in an area where I have to wash my hands constantly. The prices are a few dollars more than the salon I used to go to, but I'm willing to pay the extra money for the better service and selection here. I wouldn't go anywhere else now! read more

Clean, calm environment. You get a lot of bang for your buck with even the basic pedicure service (nail maintenance, sugar scrub, hot stone, hot towel, massage). Could have been nice to get a little longer of a massage on the hands during my manicure, but the technician painted my nails perfectly, I was willing to overlook. Pricing is about what you should expect from a standard nail salon. Mostly I was impressed with how clean the place was since most nail salons can be pretty run down and dirty. Absolutely horrible experience there last night. I've been a customer for a few years now every few months. I received a gift card for Christmas so decided to use it last night for a pedicure. From start to finish the pedicure was 25 minutes long. They did not scrub the bottom of my feet, only rubbed my toes with a brush. I asked if they would be scraping my feet, he said "I did" and showed me the brush. They did not rub my feet either, only rubbed lotion on my legs. The other bizzare thing, was they did not prep my nails for painting, they simply painted with shellac (3 coats) and then they said we were done. When I asked the owner to have a conversation she said, you must pay extra to have your feet rubbed and scraped. Now mind you, I've been coming there for years and get this exact pedicure every time. I asked if they changed the pedicure and she said yes because the cost of everything is going up- which makes zero sense in this situation. The owner had zero interest in making it right and taking ownership for the situation; which is just beyond sad. I've supported this business and referred many people here. The one thing I liked about them is they used to set a timer and ensure the customers had an experience. $55 for 25 minutes for them to soak my feet, put lotion on my legs and pain my toes is mind boggling to me. I also called after I left to hopefully make it right, after they had some time to think about the situation, they had zero interest and told me I need to pay extra for additional services. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your money! Find people and a company that cares for their customers! read more

This review is for Ben in particular. I decided to go with the $55 Herbal Pedi for some serious pamper time. Ben gave great massages with the right amount of pressure and even stretched out my feet in different directions, which felt great and was a new experience. There were a few different massage lotions and oils he used, but I was particularly impressed with one that had crushed Lemon grass in it. The $55 Pedi was worth it. He did a fabulous polish job too! This was the worst pedicure I've ever gotten, and I felt compelled to write a review because it has high ratings, which is why I chose this place for a quick walk-in. The technician cut me three times on my big toe by going so deep, did nothing to my calluses, my nails are way too short and are uneven, and I have paint on my toes. I told him twice that it hurt. I am on my feet a lot but get pedicures relatively often so my toes are not so out of control to necessitate these cuts - he destroyed my big toe and it is still painful. I'm just very torn with this salon. The first experience was okay, and I don't like just okay when I'm receiving a service to make me feel good! My mom and I were in for a manicure/pedicure. Let me tell you, the pedicure was GREAT! I can't remember my ladies name but I THINK it was oy? My mom had Lee. Manicures, for some reason I had a new person for this and it was not the manager, Tammy, as I had requested. This in itself was frustrating, but whatever I'll take it. After I was seated and the manicure was started, there was not much cuticle treatment before he started clipping away. Looking back, this is probably why my cuticles were cut and torn so easily. He applied the shellac and it was all over my skin, I asked for it to be removed before the light treatment as it would have just sealed to my skin. Well after the attitude he finally did it. I did inform the manager of my less than impressive service. She was nice and told me to request her the next time. Okay, I will... again. So, I did try again. I went in after a week due to the shellac peeling off almost every nail. I called and made an appointment and told them who I was and explained the previous situation. It took some convincing to get the manager to do my nails, whatever no biggie. I let them know once I arrived I didn't need much cuticle work and just a re-polish. Okay, I went with the dip powder and completely understand there is an up charge for these types of polish, fine by me!
