I'm not a sun bather and don't do tanning beds, so when my family was turning ten shades darker for…read morean upcoming trip to Florida I decided to give this place a try. I've never sprayed before so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I should add that I'm a super white, pale blond chick. When you walk in, the gal running the desk and greeting you is your spray-er lady. It's as comfortable as you would imagine having someone spray every inch of your body while you're naked. The spray is kind of cold so they put a little heater in the room to keep you warm. When the spray goes on it looks good, but streaky, but that's no problem you just gently towel off the excess and it doesn't really effect the overall tan. In a good solid ten minutes you are done and ogling you're newly bronzed skin. I honestly couldn't believe how good it looked and how much better it made me look. This must be why everyone tans all the time! The day after your spray is the best. The tan is even and beautiful. You're feeling pretty awesome and very tan. People are looking at you and smiling back because you've got this giant smile on your face because you're so tan that your teeth look super while and your hair looks better and blonder! You're feeling skinny. How darker skin makes you feel and look skinny is beyond me. Science, you should look into this. Anyways, you're feeling skinny, you're smiling, you're blond and happy strutting around town with your new tan with the wind at your back and the world at your fingertips. You can do anything with this tan. The next day you're feeling a little less tan but you're still feeling pretty good. You're still smiling and your hair is still blond and teeth white and you're still looking for the perfect outfit to highlight your beautiful glowing tan and your newly sculpted muscles. The third day you're still feeling that "tan high" that you had when you were first sprayed but it's seriously starting to diminish and you're starting to settle into "post-tanning-depression" You are kind of craving more spray. More tan. You're wondering if you can spray again to keep up with it but then decide it's too expensive and resort to at-home remedies. The fourth day you're rubbing self tanner all over yourself. Your knees look about five shades darker than the rest of your body. You are happy with the way it is fading in that it doesn't look too ridiculous but you're craving more tan and you're starting to feel like a tan-addict. The fifth day you're not really smiling anymore but reminiscing about your tan and those times you were feeling so fit and thin and pretty. You're looking at old pictures and wondering if you'll ever be that tan again. The sixth day you're in the shower scrubbing your knees and elbow creases. You're not so worried about your tan anymore as you're more bothered by the fattier whiter droopy body you've recently acquired. The seventh day you're back to your old self and write a yelp review. It was quite the experience. I really liked how it looked but it is really expensive for how long it lasts. Maybe if they offered some sort of mid-week touch up with the $30 +tip that you pay I would spray on a more regular basis. Maybe a photo shoot while you're tan happy pretty and thin to remember it all by would sweeten the deal.

Spray color ran down my legs, so I had streaks. My feet were dark orange. My palms were stained. What a mess. I will never visit this tanning salon again!

Glitter is THE place for Omaha nails. Sarah, the owner, has been in the beauty field since she was…read morea kiddo helping at her mom's salon, and she certainly inherited the skills! She is kind, funny, and a hard-working woman who makes it look easy. I'm Stoked to have found my go-to mani/pedi spot! My friend Cat and I found Glitter via Groupon. (I got a pedicure and shellac manicure with nail art, and Cat got a pedicure with nail art.) Sarah puts thought into every detail. We had a great experience! --Lovely atmosphere... The salon is cute and clean. It was a treat to be there! Decorated with posh and creative furniture that Sarah and her husband created together. My fave detail is the gray door featuring a waterfall of gold sparkles. --Pedi chairs... When I read on their webpage that they do not have the typical LaZy Boy massage chairs and spa tubs for pedicures, I was skeptical. I worried I'd get a backache. Not a problem. The chairs are supportive. --Water tubs and hygiene... Most salons put different clients' feet in the same tub multiple times a day, without a quality scrub down. Eek! Germs! That's why people get toe fungus from salons... poor hygiene practices. Glitter does it better. Between clients, staff cleans their stainless steel basins and cuticle/nail trimming tools. No joke--these suckers are gleaming. Much appreciated! --Sugar scrub... They make their sugar scrub in-house, and it's included at no extra charge. Thick sugar granules that feel great and exfoliate. --Complimentary foot massage... Good. Sarah has strong hands. --Toe/nail maintenance.... Great attention to detail. I pick at my cuticles, so I'm a tougher client than most. She used her tools to prep my gardening/painting/neglected nails into something refined. --Callus removal... Again, Glitter does this well. The scrubber paddle (no clue what it's called) is gentle and effective. Lots of salons use tools that are either damaging or pointless. My feet feel smoother! --Toe separators... So, instead of the foam toe separators that salons usually use, Glitter instead puts smooth mini "stones" between your toes. This sounds weird, but it's an improvement. If you're someone with bigger toes, or less flexible toes, you will notice the difference. --Nail colors... Superb. I haven't seen this brand before, it starts with a "V." It's at the same level as Essie. It was smooth, even, and delivered rich color. Way better than OPI. --Nail art... Impressive. Look at the pics! When Sarah told me she does art from stencils, I was skeptical. Usually when I see stenciled nails out and about, it looks cheap. Well! Glitter offers unique and quality options. My toes are AMAZING: a ship at sea, and a lighthouse/mountain scene. My fingernails: a DJ mix table and a geometric pattern. Cat's toes: ombré glitter and dinosaurs--no joke.) --Shellac: I often choose shellac for my hands, and this was better than usual. At most salons, nail techs ask clients to put their hands under the UV light more than once between coats. (Thus, I'm exposed to more UV, and this isn't necessary if they're trained well.) At Glitter, Sarah had me use the UV only once between coats, and the timed amount was on the shorter side. Good! Please note: A) Glitter offers regular nail polish and shellac. No gels, acrylics, dips, etc. They only offer natural nail options. B) Appointments are needed. They are usually booked a week in advance. Their hours range from approximately 10am-7pm, Monday-Saturday. Closed Sundays. ENJOY!
