I requested the cat-eye gel effect, and the technician initially told me my toenails were too small. I explained that I was mainly after the sparkle, so we moved forward. Since it was a $15 upgrade on top of the $16 shellac charge, it ended up being $31 that didn't produce the result I paid for. The space has a modern, upscale aesthetic with soft blush, beige, white, rose gold, and gold tones, plus elegant chandeliers throughout. It also smells amazing the moment you walk in...pleasant and inviting without being overpowering. The biggest standout, though, is the pedicure chairs. They are, hands down, the nicest pedicure chairs I've ever sat in anywhere in Omaha. They reminded me of the kind of chairs you'd find at higher-end spas in larger cities. They're upholstered in a beautiful tan leather (or faux leather), and the built-in massage controls are intuitive and easy to use. Honestly, the chairs alone make this place worth considering if comfort is high on your priority list. I also liked that they don't have walls covered in polish bottles. Instead, you browse through color books with actual painted nail samples and choose your shade by number. It's a much easier way to see what a color will actually look like once it's on your nails. Pedicures start around $40 and go well over $100 depending on the level of service. I chose one of the mid-tier options for $58, which included a sugar scrub and paraffin treatment. Overall, my technician was very kind and friendly, but there were a couple of communication challenges due to a language barrier. She was apologetic, and another employee stepped in to help translate when needed. My biggest area for improvement would be the technique itself. Everything felt very rushed, especially the massage and exfoliation portions. The pressure wasn't necessarily too firm, but the speed of her movements made parts of the service feel more intense than relaxing. I think slowing everything down by even 30-40% would have made a huge difference and turned it into a much more spa-like experience. I tried to ask if she could ease up a bit, but unfortunately that request got lost in translation. Near the end of my appointment, my technician was called away to help with something else, so another technician finished by applying my polish. She did a nice job, and my nails turned out great. One small suggestion would be better communication at the end of the service. We stayed in our pedicure chairs while waiting for our polish to dry because we weren't aware there was a drying station. As we were leaving, I noticed they do have one that can accommodate a couple of guests. It would have been nice if someone had pointed it out so we could have decided whether to use it and get on our way a little sooner. Overall, I had a nice experience and would definitely consider coming back. If you're someone who values a beautiful, upscale environment and wants a pedicure that feels a little more luxurious from the moment you walk in, Milla is worth checking out.
