This location has a rat infestation inside the climate controlled buildings and all of our stuff was ruined with rat feces and urine. The staff was aware of the rodent issue, but they did not reach out to the tenants to let them know. We have lost thousands of dollars worth of furniture and the staff is not concerned or helpful. Do not rent a unit at this facility! read more

There is no live customer service on site. My unit was broken into and they showed no remorse or took any credibility for their lack of attendance and to make matters worse, once my lock was broken into they proceeded to add and charge another lock on to my account. I have yet to get a response from the insurance claim I had to make due to all of the damages and stolen items. And the rent keeps going up monthly. I was with them for years and every few months the price has went up, I would also like to add that there have been rats eating at my bedding and other things there and they have done nothing at all about it. Had there been someone on location there wouldn't have been over 50 units burglarized and they seem to care less. read more

Midgard Self Storage - 3500 dollar tv ruined in my unit during the burglary and plenty more damages and stolen items that have yet to be compensated - Self Storage Near Me - Columbia, South Carolina

They went up on rental over 100%. Rats tore into our stuff, damages. Went to close account and was informed they would take out another months fee. Must have 30 day notice before due date. How is that even possible??? What a racket!!!! Awful!!! Will never use them again! read more

Do NOT use this storage facility. The portal to pay my bill does not work. I have no way of accessing or even seeing my bill. Although clearly an issue on their end, I am being charged a penalty. I am also getting threatening calls that if I do not give my credit card number over the phone, my unit will be given to collections. Do NOT trust these employees nor the way they run this business. read more

This location seems to have issues with getting the access gate to open and/or accept the codes. This is a huge problem with a large truck full of stuff as it is dangerous to back out up a steep drive and on to a busy street. No one at the corporate contact number could help, manager could not be found. I have another unit here and last time the gate was just left open for a few days while the "investors" visited. I am sorry I selected this storage location. read more

Do NOT trust StoreSmart with your personal or business belongings. The exterior security gate was broken for weeks, leaving the entrance wide open. Because it took so long to fix, someone was able to come under cover of night, drive directly to my parking spot, steal my trailer, and leave within five minutes. Even though StoreSmart had the incident on camera, it's a good thing I recorded their screen on my phone since they lost the footage the next day. Not like it mattered, though as the company didn't assume any responsibility nor give any compensation despite their false advertising of a secure lot and neglected maintenance of the property. We are moving everything out of our two rented units from this location and taking our business somewhere that actually wants to protect our stuff. Especially because the interior security gate was broken the entire term of our lease, meaning you can walk right in without even needing a code. If they offered what they advertised, then we'd have a lead on the theft or even have avoided it all together. This company is an embarrassment to our city. read more

The online website that you pay on was down, and I was out of town with no cell phone coverage so was unable to call in and pay, and was charged a late fee. When I got back in town I called in asking to have them waive the late fee so I could pay, and they said the manager had to approve, and they would have to check with her. I probably called 7-8 times and visited in person, but the manager never called back and they just kept adding fees. I suspect this is part of their business model. Everyone I actually spoke with was nice, but insisted they weren't allowed to do anything without management approval, and indicated they were leaving emails/written messages for the manager, but told me she just didn't call people back. Very disappointed and wouldn't ever use them again. read more

When filling out the reservation form I declined insurance because I already have it. It said to show proof of insurance at check-in. I went during business hours and there was an open sign on the door but it was locked. A note said to call, but no one answered the phone. I was told today I'm being charged $33 for insurance and that I should have emailed it since the door was locked. Nowhere does it say to email proof of insurance. Even though I can show proof that I had insurance before I moved in, they refuse to waive the fee. Not MY fault they can't be reached during business hours. None of the emails I received showed the gate code, just the lock code and unit number, so I had to jump through major hoops with their call center to get it while I was paying my movers to wait. They also sent me an email on the day I was scheduled to move in that I owed $75 because 48 hours had elapsed since my move-in date and I failed to turn in the lock. They grudgingly admitted they made a mistake with the date. Very rude and unprofessional. Take my advice...go elsewhere. Worst storage facility I've ever dealt with! read more

I have had my storage for several years. Never had a problem until the young female started. She always had an attitude on the phone. Even in person she has an attitude. I guess my skin color is not quite light enough. First off they are always changing things and never send you a notice of what is going on. When the gate was broken after a certain time you did not have access to the building. I had to call and speak to Miss Attitude to find out what was going on and I had driven 30 minutes away. No way to treat a paying customer. Another change- you were able to access your belongings until the forth or fifth. Ask me how I found out.. Well my fiancé was driving and I had to get some things for the holidays out of the storage. I was on the phone preoccupied and he drove in behind someone. Now this is against the rules to do so but he did not know this and I did not stop him because I was on the phone. But it took almost 2 hours for them to open the gate when there is someone living on the premises. I called customer service 3 times which they also said it was ridiculous when they know that someone was there. That just kind of took the icing off the cake with me. So I went in the office to give them my 30 day notice. The young female (I always have issues with)told me that I had to have it in by the 2nd. I'm guessing they switched this too because it was something different the last time I had asked. I went in on the 5th. She told me ( the young girl) oh I'm gonna put it in for January 31st. I stated but that is a lie because I'm here on the 5th. I asked for the paper I filled out and she changed the date on my paperwork and I took a picture of it. On today I get a voicemail message and they stole money out of my account. I call every month almost 90% of the time. I have paid online but they changed that also. So since they changed it I call. So because they have my information and know I was leaving my account mysteriously went into autopay. Wow not in the contract. I will post on every social media site and picket out side of the store if I must the way they handle business is unlawful. I sent an email that they gave me to a supposed owner but I know it's a lie. You can't just take my money out of my account. When did I change it to autopay? They don't seem to know that information when I called. I don't even know how to get to the new website that's why I've been calling them. To ensure the payment is made. BeWare they will get You. Stay AWAY. If you didn't have a problem with these two then you probably had the right skin color or you were a male. Beware!!!!! read more
