    had a bit of a hard time accessing the actual building where the unit was as they neglected to give…read moreus the code to get in, and we didn't know that if you get through the gate during business hours and attempt to leave AFTER business hours, the gate doesn't open!!!! We were literally trapped at the facility until a very nice woman from across the street at another Public Storage location came over and moved the gate for us. We picked up our USC student's belongings in our small 5x5 unit only to find dead water bugs everywhere, in the hallway of the building and in her unit as well. She was freaked out and threw many of the items away. We have since cancelled the unit and will try to find another one at the end of this school year and hopefully not have the same issues. PS the rate of $30 a month went to $42 a month in only 4 months of having the unit

    Worst storage experience ever! Had my daughters college dorm items stored for the summer in an…read more"interior" room with A/C. Yes we did not pay for their overpriced insurance which had I purchased would've denied the claim anyway. We go to empty the room yesterday and they had a roof leak that destroyed all of my daughters personal property including a $300 orthopedic dog bed for her Service Dog-she is partially deaf so her Golden Retriever assists her daily. The property manager took photos and said that they would put it in their system and rectify the situation. I called today and every customer service representative is saying verbatim "we will not reimburse because you didn't buy the insurance". So you can be a neglectful property owner by not fixing or maintaining your facilities roof and now I have to pay for that? Where is your accountability? I have tons of photos showing mold growth all over everything that we had to toss in your dumpster. I'm out about $500 to replace everything. You need to do the right thing Public Storage. This is a young girl in college with her Service Dog and your neglect ruined all their possessions. Step up and do the right thing!!!!! This is at the Broad River facility in Columbia, SC.

    From day one I have had issues with their lack of responsibility. My storage unit has a wall that…read moreis rotted and opening to next door unit. I bought their special loa k the day I rented unit and a week later they called and asked if we did, odd phone call. Well yes we did. Manager then states that she forgot to charge us and her inventory is short which is how she decided it was the lock we had purchased and that they are adding that to our next bill. Well I already paid for the lock the day she handed it to me. Then a month later I receive the bill for monthly storage and it had extra fees over 20..and not the mandatory insurance they require you to pay as well every month. And my bill states it is due in 2 weeks. Today I go to drop a load of stuff in my unit only to find out they have locked me out of the gate. Manager comes to me and says yes we do that when your bill is 6 days late. Well my bill is not late if it says it is Due March 17th and today is February 26th!!! Still did not even let me in gate to my unit!! The worst storage place I have ever experienced and needless to say I will be moving my stuff out of there!

    Management here is very rude and unprofessional. The lot is not safe, they have kept the "locked"…read moreparking area unlocked for more than a month causing company vehicles to be broken into. The customer helpline was very professional and was able to help, but this location needs new management or to train their current employees.
