had a bit of a hard time accessing the actual building where the unit was as they neglected to give us the code to get in, and we didn't know that if you get through the gate during business hours and attempt to leave AFTER business hours, the gate doesn't open!!!! We were literally trapped at the facility until a very nice woman from across the street at another Public Storage location came over and moved the gate for us. We picked up our USC student's belongings in our small 5x5 unit only to find dead water bugs everywhere, in the hallway of the building and in her unit as well. She was freaked out and threw many of the items away. We have since cancelled the unit and will try to find another one at the end of this school year and hopefully not have the same issues. PS the rate of $30 a month went to $42 a month in only 4 months of having the unit read more

Worst storage experience ever! Had my daughters college dorm items stored for the summer in an "interior" room with A/C. Yes we did not pay for their overpriced insurance which had I purchased would've denied the claim anyway. We go to empty the room yesterday and they had a roof leak that destroyed all of my daughters personal property including a $300 orthopedic dog bed for her Service Dog-she is partially deaf so her Golden Retriever assists her daily. The property manager took photos and said that they would put it in their system and rectify the situation. I called today and every customer service representative is saying verbatim "we will not reimburse because you didn't buy the insurance". So you can be a neglectful property owner by not fixing or maintaining your facilities roof and now I have to pay for that? Where is your accountability? I have tons of photos showing mold growth all over everything that we had to toss in your dumpster. I'm out about $500 to replace everything. You need to do the right thing Public Storage. This is a young girl in college with her Service Dog and your neglect ruined all their possessions. Step up and do the right thing!!!!! This is at the Broad River facility in Columbia, SC. read more

I have rented Public Storage from January 2023 to present April 2024 and the rates has increased $155 to $266.starting May 2024 is ridiculous and the area is not good I don't understand why the rate are so high it's not like I live in storage just my stuff I do not go there often because I am afraid to see things running around like rats or mice the clerks that works there are good people except when they call when you a few days of payment they just will blow my phone up so I blocks the calls and emails so I just pay online without their contact per day about my payments it's bad to pay so much more money every 3 to 6 months i.a year I need to some other storage that does raise their rates like Public Storage it's a one star from me. read more

Not getting a damn star from me they keep on upping the price without notification I will be getting a lawyer to sue them I do storage auctions and what they are is illegal I do not recommend public storage I will be going over there 1st thing in the morning and letting them know to return my money I was supposed be paying 94 a month went for 2 months then it went to 98 a month again no notification they were upping the rental space amount and then they went into my bank account today again no notification and took 129 out of my account ... so unless you want them stealing your money and breaching their own contract by upping the price without notification then go to them if you cherish your money go else where.... but I will now be getting a lawyer involved in this matter and removing my stuff today. Everyone I have spoken to has been so helpful. I moved my belongings to this storage facility in April 2023 and haven't had any issues at all. My unit was clean when I was moving my stuff in it. Every time I have gone back my unit is still clean..no traces of any rodent or bug. The price I pay for my unit and insurance is a great price. I have nothing but good things to say about this storage facility. I recommend using this storage facility. Great service, great prices and great units so far!!! Rented this unit for college storage to make it easier for college dorm move-out and move-in. Some Public Storage facilities were way more $$$ closer to the University--so we picked this particular place (7 miles away) as it was way more economical than the others closer to campus. It was invaluable to save us hours from lugging the items in the car all the way back home. Renting was a very informative phone call, easy to buy lock and pick up keys, secure facility with locked gate and codes, pretty simple contract, and great online auto-pay/account access. Move-out was scheduled online; but I found no payment stop procedure or $ answers. I tried the virtual assistant online--it was useless. So I called the office, got vm and thought I'd be lucky to get a cb. Within just a few minutes Brandy cb to answer all of my questions, with great customer service & an easy moveout procedure. This place is absolutely disgusting I have a storage unit currently in irmo off of Bush River road I just moved months ago packed everything up in boxes and storage bins neatly and within just a few months of my property being in this unit, I went back in December to retrieve some Christmas decor with my children only to find out that there are now rats overtaken in my unit. The storage units are not fully closed in and I could see rats roaming across the beam poles at the top of the ceiling that connect to all of the other storage units located within my building that I am renting from. Everything from mattresses to clothing the rats have got into and there's feces all over it and all of my items are ruined mostly and there's no telling how long the rats have been in there I immediately called management and management assured me that there's a terminix guy that comes out monthly to spray but obviously not if there's rats roaming from the top of the beam poles from storage unit to storage unit. Furthermore I am completely disgusted because I asked for help in someone coming out and spraying the unit so I can retrieve what items I do have left and employees tell me that it's not their job they got loud and cursed at me over the phone saying it's not their job to spray rats to get rats out of the units and we're completely nasty with me. It has been 3 months of me trying to get in contact with the general manager from his personal phone number that I retrieved from an employee at the storage unit and he will not even return my calls what so ever. I also carried out an insurance policy with the storage unit and pay the fee for the insurance every month and there's over $5,000 worth of damage in my unit and the insurance only wants to compensate me $250 due to it being damages from rats. I am highly upset with this place and would not recommend it because the employees do not care about the safety of anyone's property that they're supposed to keep safe and protect they are all rude and nasty with you and you will not get any help. read more

I will say the staff here is very kin and will help you with anything you need very affordable rates.

We rented a unit due to passing of relative and need a place to put some items until we could make space. We rented mid-month and we able to make arrangements to remove the items with-in a months time but since we were in a "new" month so we were charged for another full month's rent. We do not feel that this should have been charged and when we asked were told that we would that we would not be getting any refund. I would not recommend using this storage place if you need only for a short time. read more
