I am writing a review against Public Storage, located at 401 Buckner Road, Columbia, SC 29203, for the illegal towing of my privately-owned vehicle from their storage facility.
On January 27, 2019, my husband and I established a contract with Public Storage for a reserved parking space for our privately-owned vehicle. In order to establish this contract, we had to provide copies of the vehicle registration form, insurance card, and copies of our driver's license, along with a deposit for the first month's rental payment. The required documents and the payment were provided to Larissa, a Public Storage employee, who assigned and escorted us to parking space number eight (8).
The following day, January 28, 2019, I had our vehicle towed to parking space number "8". The tow truck driver followed me into the Public Storage parking facility, and I instructed him as to where to park our vehicle and there were no issues of concern addressed to me as of this date by Public Storage regarding my vehicle.
On February 21, 2019, we found out that our vehicle had been towed off the Public Storage property. We were informed of this action, when my son, Isiah, went to the Public Storage parking facility to obtain some paperwork from the vehicle, only to find that the vehicle was no longer there.
My son then proceeded to the front office to find out what happened to our vehicle. He was then told by Larissa & Ashley, Public Storage employees, that our vehicle was towed because it was parked in the wrong parking space.
I immediately contacted Public Storage, to find out why we, the owners, were not contacted regarding our vehicle being allegedly parked in the wrong parking space?
Public Storage denied having any information regarding who the vehicle belonged to, so they made the decision to have it towed, from February 7, 2019 until February 21, 2019 our vehicle sat at a towing facility location of which we had no knowledge of.
I made continued efforts to find out why Public Storage made no effort to contact us regarding the vehicle as they had the contract and all required documents which clearly shows who owns the vehicle and provides the owners contact information; all of which was submitted when we placed our vehicle in their care on their property for storage.
Public Storage continued to deny that they failed in their responsibilities to safeguard my vehicle. They claimed to have pictures of the vehicle parked in the wrong space but would not provide me proof of the pictures and stated that, "they did not have to show proof".
They have told so many "untruths" regarding why my vehicle was towed from the Public Storage facility!
All I was subjected to was blatant and intentional unprofessionalism from the employees at the Public Storage location as they continue to deny that they made a mistake by having my vehicle towed!
I also sought assistance from the District Manager (William "Bill" Bohnsack); whom I attempted to speak to by phone regarding the towing of my vehicle from Public Storage's property and he too exhibited the same blatant and intentional unprofessionalism; denying any wrong doing by his Public Storage staff regarding this issue! Having to pay an unjustified towing fee due to the error in judgment made by Public Storage and their unethical business practices is wrong and has caused us undue stress.
I would not recommend that anyone do business with a Company that is as unethical as this! read more
