Was very excited to not have to drive super far to get to some local hiking. This area very much reminded me of my hometown. I am only going to review one hike though as that is all i had the chance to enjoy of wasatch mountain state park. If I were in heber again i would love to go and explore this beauty more. Crows nest via huber grove via epperson is the hike we attempted to go on. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/utah/crows-nest-via-huber-grove-to-epperson Its a 5.1 mile loop trail that starts at the parking lot next to the visitor center. It is rated moderate. so there are so many off shoots on this trail. We followed teh all trails map and it led us astray. We eventually found the finale crows nest loop but my teens were done at that point and we just headed back. The loop in all trails map also is longer than what is listed. There are not a lot of signs that say crows nest. We did find our way out easily enough. Trail is dry. Pretty area once you get up into the trees. It is nice that wasatch is not too far out of town so very accessible. If you do not have a utah state parks pass be sure to bring $10 cash or go to the website at teh parking lot and then you can pay for parking online

The cost is $30 per person…read more(a little pricey), and the water temperature is usually high 90s Fahrenheit (cooler than a typical hot tub). Lockers and changing rooms (but not showers or bathrooms) are available for your items after you enter the crater. The online purchase to reserve your spot was easy. You should bring your own towel and lock for a locker. The Homestead facility is currently undergoing construction, so I realize the check in experience may improve later. The signs for parking and check in locations were confusing and/or incorrect, and multiple employees with an H polo didn't help us with finding the lot when we were clearly looping around among construction unsure where to go. I'd recommend to Homestead to remove/cover the arrow sign to the crater on Bluff Rd until that construction is complete. Additionally, I recommend better check-in signage on the beige activities building since this busy country club has many "activities" from tennis to golf that aren't necessarily linked to the crater. Temporary A-frame signs would be sufficient. I felt safe in the crater with the required life vest, and we signed waivers before entering. The view from the top of the crater is lovely if you're willing to climb a few dozen steps.

I fished with two different guides over a day and a half this week. The first day, I brought my own…read morerods to fish with, and they told me that I could kindly leave them behind. I really wanted to use my equipment, but was forced to use their rods/reels (Orvis Clearwater rods). When we got to the first spot, the guide instructed us on how to cast a fly rod - great for beginners, but he caught a fish. Took the best chance for a fish away from the guest. Total no-no. If you want to instruct, go to a spot to show someone, or at least have the guest cast in a spot to evaluate their casting capability. On the second day. I brought my rods again but the guide wasn't interested in having me use them. We got to the river and, once again, cast into a fresh pool. Fish on immediately. I got another lesson in casting, which I did not need or want. The guide then proceeded upstream from me to test weights (I don't even know what that means) and they caught another fish. At one point, the guide was out-fishing me 3-1. I ended up with 8 netted fish over 5hrs. It was fairly evident that this guide had one spot, which we went to first, that they were comfortable with. So, to be fair, guides would be great if you're a beginner. But if you know how to fish and really just want a guide to share knowledge of a variety of spots, I wouldn't recommend.

The boots are in great condition as well and the men in the shop are careful and knowledgable about how to fit each person to the best skis and best boots. They know what they are doing...and it's a comfort to know they are invested in skier safety. We have been a faithful customer for the past 3 years and feel so fortunate to have found them. They have a huge supply and I know they offer delivery service as well. I highly recommend this place!
