My Tesla tire has one piece peeling, enroute there was a guy decided this whole tire needs to be replaced after just looking at the picture on my phone. Guy in Midas carefully examined it found no leakage, no charge and give it a free inflation. Guy in reception is super nice. read more

Do not go here. They work on commission and will scam you. They told me my rear caliper was leaking "profusely"!? and my car was unsafe to drive. Little did they know they were my second estimate. The first shop told me my FRONT caliper needed to be replaced. I got 2 totally different diagnoses within 23 hours. BOTH SHOPS were trying to scam me. The first shop gave me a $800 quote, this Midas gave me a $1800 quote and made me sign a waiver to leave with my car since it was "unsafe" to drive!! Long story short I ended up going to a third mechanic who said my brakes are fine and are at 60% and don't need any work done. 4 months later my car and its brakes are totally fine! No issues whatsoever. So I spent $0 and saved $1800 by not accepting this ridiculous scam. I should have known when I walked in the guy, I think his name is Palmer, talked way too much and he is definitely a rip off artist. Stay far away!!!! read more

I found a screw in my tire, and called the nearest tire repair place, which happened to be this Midas location. I called to ask about availability for this simple fix and Palmer squeezed me in for a 3:30 slot between his other repairs. Palmer and his technician were very friendly and professional. They checked the damage to ensure it could be repaired, and provided a cost estimate that seemed very reasonable. The technician was willing to wear a mask in my vehicle (noting that I'm careful about covid, especially having young kids). The repair was completed quickly as they said it would be, and in the end Palmer said it was free of charge! I figure he was just being a cool person and recognized how annoying this was for me to deal with on a Saturday. I think I found my go to place for routine work in the area. read more

Ac not working. Had to give up my car for two days. They ran dye through system and could not find leak. They showed me the condenser which was only covered with dirt and charged me 1,000. To replace. Ac still did not hold charge. It is still doing same thing. Checked with two independent auto techs who stated it was not condenser. These guys do not know what they are doing and will replace most expensive parts instead of finding the real problem. read more

3 hours ago I came in to get brakes done on a Subaru impreza. Had to order parts which he said would add an hour. They arrived wrong size. When I express my dismay about it, he wasn't sympathetic and pushed back on that they sent wrong part and it wasn't his fault. He even brought the box over to show me. But I'd been there so long and was worrying about having no way to get home that day. I'm pretty upset, but this was the only bad experience and this manager isn't the normal one, so I will let out go back to 3 stars - I still might not back in the chance that same man is there for the day. read more

Very Bad experience. Left my car to fix my exhaust and they said they found other problems. These problems were not as bad as explained. They replaced 4 struts that were only marginal but told me one was leaking. They lied and I am filing a complaint with BBB and will be filing a small claims with Westboro District Court. All 4 cars in our household use Midas, mufflers, repairs, AC charge, etc. Oil changes are the most common. Sent my 18 yr old daughter there with her Saab 9-3 and they  told her she had to have synthetic oil, and then charged her $86-after a 10.00 coupon They used 6.5 qts when it takes 5. Russell was great! At the end of the day on a Saturday, we went in with a concern about our car breaks. Even though it was late, he took the time to check it out, and when realizing the problem was severe, he insisted on staying late to replace the breaks and ensure our safety. My car broke while we were visiting friends. Found this as the nearest place. They said if we change the thermostat, car will be fixed and will cost 550$ including parts, labor and taxes. They replaced the thermostat and nothing changed. Later, they said, need to change the water pump as well and said it will cost another 1600$. I paid around 550$ and left. I fixed my car from another place in Framingham. They charged me only 700$ for water pump. These guys are robbers. Don't go there. Their behavior is also the worst. read more

Absolutely horrible. I called yesterday for an appointment for my brakes and they told me come at 8:30. I called three times after I dropped it off with no answer. Finally got a hold of someone who told me he would look at it and call me back in 20 minutes with an estimate. An hour went by and I had not heard so I called back. He told me it would cost approximately 700 for my front and rear brakes, I said OK do it. He said I will have it done around two which is the time I had said I wanted to pick it up. I go to pick it up at two and he tells me my car is unsafe to drive and he cannot get the parts until Monday. You couldn't have called me to tell me that? Horrible business and now I am driving home with grinding brakes. Oh and I forgot to mention that when I dropped it off there my brakes were just squeaking. Now they are suddenly grinding? back in June, my check engine light came on and the car kept wanting to stall. I brought it in since the last time I was there I needed a new belt and the mechanic showed me that it did need replacing (I had taken it to Valvoline and they said I needed a new one but I could not see that i did and I feel like I get ripped off at every mechanic I've taken my car to, so I wanted a 2nd opinion). After $1000 of work at Midas, including replacement of the O2 sensor and catalytic converter, my check engine light is on again. They are not open on sunday so I have to wait to bring my car back. Been taking my car to dealer for last 10 year, with decade old car dealer's cost doesn't justify anymore. Gave this place a try for oil change hoping I could switch to Midas for future maintenance. Went there with a coupon (including $20 discount and free tire rotation), specifically told the guy to rotate tires and perform multi-point inspection. After an hour got the car back, oil was changed but no tire rotation or inspection. And I was charged more than what I usually pay at Toyota for oil change (this was after applying $20 coupon). Asked the guy why tires were not rotated, he said it is not needed. Asked about visual inspection, he said car looks good, no specifics on condition of breaks or tires. Wouldn't go back. read more

Never going back. Set up an appointment for a new tire. Dropped the car off the night before so it was there for them to begin as soon as possible. Around 3 pm, i got a phone call saying they did not have the tire i requested and said the job would be done the following day. Next day, went to pick up my car. The man who processed my payment was incredibly rude and refused to accept a coupon that they had ensured they accepted (when i called to set up my apt). I left paying almost DOUBLE than what i was quoted while finding my spare tire just thrown into my trunk with no regard for any of my belongings in the trunk. I visited the Midas on Rt 30 in Westboro and boy did they try to take me for a ride. I took my car in for a wheel balance and they smugly told me that I needed new front brake pads and rotors as well. They were going to charge me $418 for front brakes and they told me the rear brakes were half worn. As I had bought the car that week, I took it to the dealer and angrily explained to them that they had sold me a car with worn brakes. The dealer then checked the brakes and found they were almost new and showed me the unworn brakes on the car. Midas took me for a naive young driver who wouldn't know the difference and tried to charge me a lot of money for work I didn't need, just because they figured I wouldn't check. Either that or they don't know how to check a brake pad for their lives. Don't give these guys a dime, find a mechanic shop that won't take you for a fool. read more

Update: I was contacted by the Midas customer service team and then the owner of the Midas location following my review. The owner (I forgot his name - sorry!) was very professional and apologetic as he explained he recently took over the business and the mechanic who specializes in exhaust was not there that day. He immediately offered to refund the cost of our repair. My husband went in to following day to get our refund and the employee was super nice and sincerely apologetic. Although we were not happy with the original work, we feel they went above and beyond to correct the situation. read more

My only recommendation if you're bringing your car here is to get a second opinion before you have them fix anything. I brought my car here for an oil change and they recommended over $1,500 worth of work including new struts & drive shaft which my mechanic said was completely uneccesary and not needed. They also told me my catalytic converter was leaking and they would need to replace a significant portion of the pipe for a mere $510, my mechanic welded the leak shut for $40. My concern is that what if I was an older person who didn't know better or someone who trusted they were telling me the truth? I would have had $1,300 worth of mechanical work that was not needed! read more

I'm not sure what kind of operation these guys are trying to run over here with their groupon deal. I made an appointment and showed up this morning with my groupon to have them say that I need to have a "card that they were supposed to send me in the mail". There is no mention of this on the groupon or anywhere on the deal. Apparently for some reason they feel the need to make customers jump through hoops in order to redeem a groupon and it sure would appear that they are successful in avoiding redemption of this deal. I think that this speaks volumes of how they might treat any of their customers. Save yourself the hassle and inconvenience and get an oil change elsewhere. read more

I bought a deal off of Groupon for $30 that included three oil changes and a check engine light diagnosis among other things. The oil change took about an hour so the timing was average. No biggie. However, I always inspect my car before and after a shop. Before I went in both of my headlights worked-after only one did. I said I was on lunch and just need the diagnosis done. Well, the guy told me that it would be $95 before tax and about an hour to read the codes. I told him I just wanted to know the codes from the free diagnosis, so he told the mechanic to stop and he was done with the car. Other than trying to get me to spend extra money and a shady headlight it was an okay experience. read more

I just came here for an oil change. The guy who helped me was really nice and really helpful. He honored my coupon for a discounted oil change and did a work up. He explained to me what I needed to have done soon without any pressure to have them do it. As a young woman I often experience a lot of condescending mechanics who try to run up tabs on me because they think they can take advantage of my naivety. Gave me a runaround about synthetic oil. That did it. One of the car crew guys had told me, "We don't have synthetic oil," and was spoken to by the manager (Divick?) who promptly spoke to him... The guy who said that had me thinking he was on drugs or something. It was HOW he said it (big difference in saying, "We don't have any today," as opposed to saying it as if to imply, "We don't carry synthetic oil," which is ridiculous. The manager (Divick) asked me, "Who told you that???" and then disappeared quickly to speak to the guy. The guy came back to the customer service area and stared at me like I had 5 heads. I was stupid enough to buy 5 quarts of synthetic oil at Wal-Mart to do the job. I have never been so flummoxed in my life. The guy also said, "I thought you were coming back HERE," but that was not the point. The next day I sheepishly returned the 5 quarts of oil to Wal-Mart. I asked this guy politely, "Did you mean you didn't have synthetic oil on THAT day?" He stared at me, again, like I had 5 heads. Very bizarre experience...up until then I always went there. That guy exhausted me and why he said that about 'not carrying synthetic oil' (if that is what he meant) I cannot recommend this place. This would be the location in Shrewsbury on Rte. 9, right behind Trader Joe's, etc. I wonder if he still works there. read more

I received one of those coupon flyers in the mail for an oil change, and I completely regret it. First, they didn't take my check because they said they don't take that form of payment, which is doable--but they didn't even have a sign out anywhere that claimed that. Second, I was supposed to get a tire rotation with the package and they did not rotate them. I had to drive back home and back to Midas to deal with it, and by the time they "dealt" with it, they only rotated the front with the back, not the sides... which is what you're supposed to do. Maybe they feel they can take advantage of women like that because they think they don't know anything about cars. I wouldn't recommend this place for how untrustworthy they are. read more
