Dissapointed with my service and will no longer return to this location. I had my starter replaced, which then Chris tells me that I needed a flywheel. In the end I did not need a flywheel as my warranty insurer inspected the vehicle and determined that it was operational and in good use. The starter that was installed was damaged because I kept having the same issue with it starting, and because I was so upset with the dishonesty of the mechanic who worked on my vehicle and with Chris I chose to take my business elsewhere. trusted this shop and Chris for a VERY long time after rebuilding my vehicles engine. I recently relocated and entrusted him with giving my car an oil change before driving for 10 hours. My car has been leaking oil ever since leaving the shop. I even Informed him (Chris, the manager) about the leak, and that I reached my destination 600 miles away....and his response was simply "that's great". These actions have done nothing but further amplify the trope that sometimes mechanics can't be trusted. And now I have to find a new shop to perform repairs with this new jaded outlook. I feel like I've wasted my money by utilizing his services for so long.....what else has him and his employees done to my car unbeknownst to me. This Midas is the go to spot, normally I do my own oil changes and light repairs, but with it being so cold I decided to take my '04 mustang to them. Chris and the team are very pleasant and amazing at the job they do. I went in for a synthetic oil change and knowing my shocks were shot I let Chris look at them, he confirmed they were shot and got me the pricing to replace them. A 2 hour job took 45 minutes with the guy who's been there for 15 years I was amazed. I left happy, when I turned off my engine and started it again I had a pinging sound which was my fault for not upgrading the gas I was using. Once I did the pinging noise stopped, Chris followed up with me and even invited me back to take a look if there was anything underlying that could cause it. On Sat January 28th, 2023, I called at 8:16 am asking if they had availability for oil change. I was told yes and I can come in for 9:30 AM and would be out in 30 minutes. I got to them at 9:15 AM and was told there was a hour wait. So I then proceeded to ask, why give me an appointment to come down for 9:30 and waist my time. So, I asked for a manager. The employee named Chris, told me there was no manager available and to deal with him. I then stayed at this time, I only want to speak to a manager. He then stated he was the manager. I then stated, how are you a manager when you just stated there was no manager available. He took up all the business cards off the table so I couldn't get the manager's information. I started taking pictures for evidence to report to their corporate office. He advised he is now calling the cops because I took his picture. This location is the worst. Very dishonest. Today is my 2nd and last time at this place. I went in to change front break pads only, I know for a fact the rotors did not need to be changed, but the manager Mr. Rajid told me they needed to be replaced because they are too old, and it's for my safety... And blah blah blah... I told him I don't want to replace the rotors at this moment, Mr. Rajid decided to be very rude and dishonest, he changed what he had offered me, and didn't give me the life time warranty because I did not replace the rotors with them, mind you, he offered me lifetime warranty for the pads when I first went in there. Be careful, they will tell you that you have to replace some parts eventough they are still in good shape. Also, do yourself a favor, check the other reviews, Mr. Rajid is known to be a lier... I went in around 2pm, I asked him a what time they close...? He said they close at 4pm, I checked the store hours and they actually close at 5pm. I had to rush to come back to get my vehicle at 3:20pm..when I got there the vehicle wasn't even ready, I had to wait until 4:30pm. If I could put a 0 I would this place has a bunch of liars!!!! They say one thing and then end up charging you an arm and a leg! Went in for 2 tires asked for an online price match from Midas.com and came out paying $200 per tire when it was $134 with all the extra charges online. I showed the asst manager Chris the picture of it and he said he would match. Had to go back bc the manager was the only one who could reverse the charge. Went back 4 days later so that Chris would say that I never showed him a picture. That's on top of a piece of their sign breaking off and falling on my car. They replaced it and I was suppose to get the adjustment of the price. Ended up leaving with no price change upset being called a liar. I disputed it with my credit card company so they think they got one over me Nope! Never using Midas again thanks West Hempstead location you really unprofessional so much so I want to make all sites aware that your on so no one else gets lied to! Good day, I do not usually write a review but I felt this was worth the time. I recently visited this Midas Muffler shop in West Hempstead with my vehicle. As soon as I pulled in and got out of my vehicle I was greeted by Chris who I assume is the owner of the shop. I explained my situation and Chris assured me he will look at the problems and get back to me. Chris called me with the diagnosis and I thought it would be quite expensive, Chris relieved my concerns and did the repairs to my exhaust system with expertise and care. The service was fast but the price was high and I was quoted for three services that I thought I was getting and got 2 for a very high price I wouldn't recommend them last year I got my inspection done and the guy told me my brakes only had 10 percent left this year a year later I didon't need brakes? If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Do not take your car here ever, unless you want to be ripped off and taken advantage of. The first time I brought my 3 year old car in for an inspection this past Summer, they tried to tell me I failed the inspection until I fixed certain things which would cost over $200. I then told them it was a lease that was going back in a couple months and I'm really not looking to spend over $200 on a car I'm giving back soon. I sent my husband to pick it up and they changed their whole tone and ended up "passing the car." Obviously it didn't need the work to begin with. When I had my lease inspection, these items were not an issue. The second time we came here which was this week (which we should have learned our lesson the first time, but we live down the block and my husband wanted to get a quick inspection on his car), they told my husband he couldn't have the inspection passed until he fixed a leaky tire and some bolt on his rim. They said it was again going to cost around $200+ inspection charge. Well anyway we went a picked up the car and brought it somewhere else and they fixed all these issues and passed inspection for $50. This place is ridiculous and I will be disputing my charge of the failed inspection fee because this place takes advantage of people. read more
