Collision and towing. I had to utilize the services of these guys due to a sudden blowout on the Parkway the other night. Higby has the contract to provide service on the State parkways in the area I was in and although I am capable of changing a tire, the particular place I had pulled over in was a muddy mess and the teeny jack that comes with the car turned out to be useless as it was sinking in the mud... I called my roadside service peeps who went out and called Higby. Their driver was along shortly and that truck was well equipped with all the accessories required to fix or tow your junker. They had my car jacked and even changed the tire for me - and I was on my way to find me a tire store... Fair prices and friendly service - perfect. read more

Chris the Tow Truck driver came out quick and was very knowledgeable and professional. My daughter was stuck on side of road with two flats at around 12:30 am late night. I debated writing this review, I mean chances are if you are using Higbie Collision you were probably forced into using them like we were during a lockout on a trip to a Southern Long Island State Park. I'm sure Higbie paid off somebody or split their profits with someone high up in the NYS Park office to get their "exclusive" contract to handle all car issues within the park. However, this experience was so bad, I feel it's my duty to document it. We paid upfront- because we had to- and were told 30 minutes for someone to arrive, no one arrived after 30 minutes- they guy on phone says the truck will be there any time now. We wait another 30 minutes and now the same guy says the truck isn't working so they need a new truck but ,of course, it will be only another 30 mins.... Well one and a half hours later a truck finally shows up... We waited slightly under THREE HOURS for a simple lockout, but it doesn't stop there, keep reading: The mechanic steps out of his truck smoking a cigarette, and without putting the cigarette out or saying a word- proceeds to open our car. I got to give this guy some credit, I mean the guy could sure balance a cigarette while working...Immediately after opening the car he jumps back into his truck (still smoking btw) and pulls out a bill -- dude, we paid upfront, that's your policy! After all the waiting, you and your company try to steal from us as well-- I guess your stealing from guests of State Parks everyday, so trying to steal from a customer is just par for the course... Well chances are if you are using this company it was like us, you had no choice and were forced to pay upfront. I just hope they clean their act, but c'mon - that's probably wishful thinking, like expecting a one of their drivers to arrive when they say they will... read more

After I brought my SUV in my radio came back on the diagnostic screen. They did not fix the issue so I had to bring back to the dealership. My expensive sunglasses are now no where to be found. The repairs look okay so far but I wouldn't recommend this establishment. read more

Went on a trip to LI got locked out of our car. Long story short, their estimated time was 30 minutes. Finally 2 hours 30 minutes they came. Which I kind of understand, stuff happens but when we confirmed at 40 min and 1 hr they said he will be there in 5 minutes. Just kept lying. To make matters worse when he did come the guy was crazy rude. He didn't speak a word pointed to the car and proceeded to hastily try and open it with a cigarette in his mouth. Then he proceeded to try and make us pay twice for the job. Once someone with me was going to pull out a conf email for payment he said oh nevermind and drove off. I guess if you have a contract you dont care about being decent anymore. I guess even this review doesnt matter because of the contract. You will have to go through them. Pretty low if you ask me, you gotta wonder how they got that contract. Maybe its just 1 bad experience but thats yelp. Avoid if you can but you probably cant. read more

Used them 2 years ago after I was hit, they did an excellent job. Got a flat today in a snowstorm, the jack supplied by Jeep was insufficient (wouldn't get the jeep high enough off the ground to put the new tire on) these guys came out to give me a hand, they wouldn't even take a tip from me. They towed my son's car because of an accident on the Southern State Pkwy, we chose to have the car brought to another body shop, once the car reached the other body shop my son went to look at his car and the lip attached to the bumper was removed! I called Higbie and right away they tried saying that the other body shop must of taken it (which is a family member!!!) then he says the car didn't have a lip when they towed it, then when I informed him that we had pictures of the car after the crash and on tow truck with the lip he changed his story again! Thieves!! We will be pressing charges!! Shame on you! read more

I recently purchased my dream car (2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited/Purple). Unfortunately I received some body damage to my car due to negligent drivers (rear ended and hit by debris from a truck). My husband used Higbie in the past and the body work was immaculate, so I decided to take my new car to the shop. Honestly, Chuck and his staff are all WONDERFUL. Not only did they do an AMAZING job (my car looks like the day I picked it up from the showroom) but their customer service is impeccable. Worst experience! Almost 2 months after our accident and my car is still not fixed. Owner Chuck refuses to return our calls. When we go in person, every time it's "tomorrow, next week.. Tuesday... " We checked on our car last week and it looks exactly the same today.. no progress! Bumper not painted... line of paint drip dividing where they painted other bumper to cover up damage.. and more.. No other communication unless we show up personally. Insurance has advised us to make a complaint with the BBB and dept of motor vehicle. read more

So I'm reviewing the service center down the street not the collision center but I'm sure it's all the same. I unfortunately came into contact with this place because my car died on ocean parkway and they're the only tow company that can tow from a parkway, that's the first issue I have with this place. $175 to tow my car 8 miles to their shop which I was still willing to use to do the work. A day after it got towed they called me back to tell me their computers can't communicate with my computer in my car and they can't do the work and to bring it to the dealer. Long story short, I paid another $100 for a tow to Babylon Honda and in the end it was a blown fuse that anyone could have fixed and this place was just not willing to work on my car and instead offered to tow my car because it's obviously how they make most of their money. Also the manager Rich is extremely rude and seemed so inconvenienced to even be dealing with me. Bottom line avoid this place it's horrible and dishonest and way overpriced.
