However, this last experience with this dealership is the straw that broke the camels back for me. I set an appointment up for an oil change and a tire rotation almost 2 hours later I'm still sitting there, I asked the representative where my car is and let them know that I need to go because I have other things to do normally oil change takes an hour because they do Xpress service which is why I always set up the appointment instead of just showing up but at the end when I get the report back apparently there's a nail in my tire that they didn't bother to tell me that they found as soon as they found it, normally when Chuck is there he lets me know and I'll get a new tire and I'll get it fixed but now I had to leave the shop with a nail in my tire with no idea when this tire is going to pop because they don't have the tire and I can't come back tomorrow Because I'm a nurse and I work the next day so I can't just call in sick. So I had to leave the dealership knowing that my car is not safe to drive, I will never ever ever go back to this dealership or deal with those people ever again. You should never let a customer leave an unsafe conditions and not try to do something upfront, I should've been told upfront if there was a nail in my tire. The worst part of it is that I asked to speak to a manager or somebody in customer service and was just told that the person I asked for doesn't work there anymore but I wasn't given any recourse to talk to anybody else, clearly the person handling me did not want to help and did not want to get the situation resolved. I advise other women if you're looking for a dealership do not take your car here. And if you're really desperate and you need to go ask for Chuck Byers if he's not there then don't go

The mechanic was competent and did a good job fixing my car…read more However, the lady that works behind the counter to order parts and arrange payments did a very poor job and did not seem to care about customers at all. I was traveling through town and my battery died when I tried to start my car in the hotel in the morning. I called this repair shop because I needed my battery replaced quickly, so I could get back on the road. When I first spoke to the lady, she said that she could have a battery that fit my car, delivered to the shop in under an hour and they could install it right away. This sounded like a good solution. I went to the shop, they took out the old battery and the lady said the battery was on its way and should be there soon. I went to get lunch nearby and returned an hour later. To my surprise, there was no battery in my car. I asked the lady what was going on and she said there was some mix up with the battery supplier and the battery was never sent. She said it was the suppliers fault, that she just spoke to them and they were rushing over the battery now. I just had to wait another 20 minutes. I was not happy, but mistakes happen and another 20 minutes seemed okay. Another hour went by and there was still no battery delivery. I asked her again, where is the battery. All she could say is "the guy is on his way". 30 more minutes passed and still no battery. I was very annoyed and worried, because I had been waiting 3 hours for a battery, my car was disassembled and it was already 4pm at this point. To my surprise, the lady just closed-up the office and started to walk to her car to go home, leaving me there in the shop with no idea if my car was going to be fixed. Fortunately, the battery did arrive about 30 minutes later and one of the mechanics who was still around installed it for me. As I mentioned, the mechanic was good. But the lady is terrible at taking care of customers. She most likely created the problem by not ordering the battery from the vendor correctly (although she blamed them), took no ownership of solving the problem and essentially left to go home with the problem not resolved and with a customer left hanging. Also she quoted me $500 and when the mechanic went to charge me, it was $575. But since the lady went home already he had to charge me the higher price, since nobody could reach her.

I was a last-minute walk-in, 30 minutes before closing time, and she and her team made the time to take care of my car before closing. I discovered they specialize in bodywork, mechanical, restorations, classics, muscle cars, imports, etc. there's literally nothing they don't do well. They're located in Salinas, and absolutely worth the trip.

Unfortunately, the other shop gave me very few answers. I paid $305 for the diagnosis, but the report I received from the other shop was extremely basic. They also didn't give me a list of the parts that needed to be replaced, a breakdown of the labor costs, or much of an explanation of how they came to the conclusion that I needed a $4,800 repair. When I asked for more information, they were irritated with me and very dismissive. When I went to CARS, the experience was completely different. Michelle, the Office Manager, has been wonderful. She is extremely knowledgeable about automotive repairs, but more importantly, she knows how to explain things in a way that makes sense to someone who isn't a mechanic. She genuinely wants her customers to understand what's going on with their vehicle and feel comfortable with their options. I never felt rushed, talked down to, or pressured. At CARS, asking questions is welcomed, and you're treated with patience and respect. I'm extremely grateful to Michelle and CARS for their patience, kindness, and willingness to help. It's refreshing to find a repair shop that makes you feel like an informed and respected customer, rather than just another opportunity to make money!
