I went to pep boys because my AC gave out but now a days it's hard to trust a mechanic. I remembered Daniel did my oil change a long time ago and how great of an experience it was I brought it to Midas. I had a 9:30 appointment was checked in by Jill she said it was going to be a 3-5 hour wait for the diagnostic since I requested Daniel, but it only took and hour and a half. While waiting for the diagnostic on my car Jill was yelling at a mechanic saying something about when I say a time it has to be done by that time and I found that to be very unprofessional because there was a waiting room with customers that can hear her. The tension in the waiting room got uncomfortable after that happened. I received a txt at 11:11 am that my inspection was ready to review. Then she had me waiting to go over what needed to be done to the AC. Found out what was wrong and had to get it done. I left and received a txt my car was ready for pickup at 4:01 pm. I get there and had to wait 30 minutes for her to put in paper work I guess for my car then finally got my keys to leave. I would give more stars for Daniel and Ray they were great giving me information on the part that I needed, but Jill made it a long and uncomfortable experience. read more

Been going to Midas Redlands for yrs...they mess up my truck so many but still coming back... I've had it... no coming back no more....

Absolutely do not go here. They tried to charge me $1,300.00 for replacing my brake pads. I told them I would think about it and I would be back. I took it to my dealership immediately which came to $179.90 . I then went the very next day back to Midas and waited where they still wanted to charge me $1,300.00. Saying I needed new brake pads, rotors and calipers. I showed them the invoice from my dealership stating my rotors and calipers were in great condition. You should have seen the look on their faces. All I needed was brake pads. Unbelievable how crooked these people are! They told me it was a "dirty trick". I told them "How in the hell do you sleep at night?" Terribly shady people. read more

I came in early in the morning one time wanting my rear brake shoes replace. I purposely put my inexpensive lugs nut on the rear where they were doing work and told them over and over again not to touch the front just the back. And I since I was stuck had no one to pick me up I just waited until the job was done. Which keep in mind took 4-5 hours. I watched the whole process and towards the end of the repair when he was putting my wheels back on torquing down my lug nuts he decided to torque every lug on my car as he walked around it. My front lugs are expensive and made of aluminum and they can not be torqued by machine only hand tools to 80 ft lbs. And they had no business touching the front of my car. They are stuck on my car right at the moment because they wont come off. Now they are warp and I have to buy a new set. I reported what happened the next day to them and they said they will check cameras for me just to find out they don't even have access to them and have a 3rd party review and submit a report to them. So how can they even tell me the guy didn't touch the front of my car when I watched the whole process. I know the guy touched it, I watched him. This is very frustrating because they think I am lying. They cant even do the reviewing themselves. I think the security team got lazy because of how long the time frame was and didn't really pay enough attention to the video. It is like having someone else lie for you but they don't know you lied to them "middle man" type of thing. I told them even I seen it with my own eyes they tried to imply I was some crack head. Saying what you see is not what actually happened like what!!?? And let me talk about the repair and repair bill the repair is adequate because the rear brake isn't adjusted right it grabs almost like you are taping the brakes and it costed me $298. Life would be better if people were honest. Just about broke my torque wrench this morning trying to work on my car the lugs will not budge. If you are wondering why I was trying to take my front lugs off and found out they where torque to high hell because of that shop. It is because I was planning on installing new springs. But my ebrake wasn't holding so I couldn't lift the front of my car up with out it rolling so I took my car to Midas to install new ones. Even though knew he used the gun on my front lugs. I was going to take it as a lost but it comes to found out they are completely warp and impossible to get off. I just want the guy to own up to what he did. Very unlikely I would be coming back to this place, friendly staff and all but isn't worth the headache just take your car somewhere else you'll be happier. But to be honest working on your own car is way better and fun. You'll get to learn something. read more

Would not recommend this place to anyone. The current reviews clearly state the mediocre service. My dad went in to get some basic tires. They upsold his $200 for two tire deal to $370-$700; which is absurd considering it doesn't include the alignment you get every so many miles. Upon bargaining with his representative, he and the male representative were interrupted by a huskier woman on the clock: she then proceeded to disregard his needs as a customer and told him: "you don't have to buy tires from us"... 1/10 sales expertise and customer service. Previous to the whole transaction, she was loudly saying a customer needs to get removed from handicap before even checking in with them to verify proper documentation.... not to mention the customers husband was standing in front of her face as she said that. Definitely don't waste your time here folks, plenty of other shops that have better reviews! Just do better research. read more

I was told by a parts supply store that a $200 part on my car was failing and needed to be repaired. Jill at the front desk told me 9 times out of 10 that issue is actually from a faulty gas cap, a $15 fix. Excellent service from the Manager and mechanic. I had an appointment at 9:30, at 9:31 my car was on the lift for an oil change and tire rotation. I've been coming here for many years bringing all my cars and also referring family and friends, because they always did a good job. Even when I moved away I would drive here to get work done. I go to them for all of my car needs. I went in for a simple oil change. They told me that something else was wrong with my car. What they told me was unusual because my car is in good shape and pretty new. I got someone else to take a look at my car and they showed me that my car was perfectly fine. I won't be coming here anymore and the people I referred won't be coming here anymore also. Throughout the years they changed employees so quickly. Decided to get an oil change this morning. Woke up early... so I got to Midas on Redlands Blvd at 7 am. I was promptly welcomed and offered coffee. Their doors open at 7 am, and my car was being worked on by 7:08 am. Sure. There are plenty of places where you can get ur car worked on. But service and attention to details speaks volume. Good price for a standard oil change ($30 out the door). Good and friendly customer service. No upselling, just information on the maintenance they recommended for my Honda Accord at 155k miles. Go my job done in about 45 minutes for a walk-in oil and filter change (service b), when they promised 1 hour. The only general tip I would give to any person in the world is to skip the high mileage and synthetic oil at any (not just this) shop because the price markup for those is a great way for the shop to profit at the customers expense. By all means go for it if the cost is not an issue for you and if you want to patron the shop you're paying for this service. For example, if you buy a 5 qt jug of synthetic oil at a store and do it yourself , you'll pay about 10 dollars more than regular oil. Reasonable. If you go to most shops, they will charge at least 40 dollars more for a synthetic oil change. At this shop, regular oil change is 30 OTD (includes tax and disposal fee) and synthetic oil change is probably around 78 OTD. If the price is worth it to you, your choice. Don't knock this store down because of this. I actually do recommend this shop, as my experience was good for what I needed. read more

Yo, these guys straight saved me from buying a turd on wheels! I was looking for cars on offerup, and came across an Infiniti G35 sedan for $3400. Decent mileage, 2 owners, service records. Seemed legit, drove great, looked nice. After we parked I noticed it had an burnt oil smell, and I didn't drive it that hard. I asked if it would be ok to take to a mechanic before I commit to purchase it. The owner said ok, that her mechanic was around the corner, but I opted for a fresh set of eyes... Thankfully. SCAM!!! Was told I had a severe oil leak when I took my car in for routine oil change. They quoted me $200 dollars and I refused there recommendation knowing that my car had not been leaking oil. I made a follow up appointment at another business learned they Midas created a slow oil leak by leaving the screw loose and putting a double seal and that my car was completely FINE after they removed the seals and replaced with 1 and tightened. Never Again, I had never had an issue here. Must be new people. People are struggling enough, you should NOT have to worry about getting scammed at a MIDAS. read more

Came here earlier this year to get my lifetime warrantied brakes changed, no fees and no complaints. But today's experience was completely different. Brought in my car to get the brakes changed like before and the estimate was $0. Got a call later in the afternoon from them asking for my permission to allow them to change my rotors as well...I declined, I was well aware of how much life those things had. When I came to pick it up there were new rotors on! After a rude exchange of words from their management we were able to get them taken off. I then learned that they were going to charge me $100 for labor! What?! Completely different from my past experience. Why such a change you ask? New owners! In the end I refused to pay and got my brakes done for free....like I was supposed to in the first place. I came here last time I needed an oil change because I had a coupon and I was so impressed with their customer service that I came back again. If I weren't moving away from the area, I would make this my regular place for oil changes and other car repairs. The guys that work here are extremely friendly, especially Tom, the owner. For an owner he is extremely hands on, and makes sure to greet customers and takes initiative in getting things done. They seem to only do what is necessary and don't try to trick you into unnecessary repairs. I also like that you can watch the guys do the work on your car from the lobby, so you can tell that they are working hard and not just sitting around. It's hard to find a place where you feel like you can trust the mechanics, and I definitely get that sense here. read more

After a bad experience at the other exhaust place in town, I came by here to get a quote for a new cat. The shop and waiting area were both very clean, and I was treated with great customer service by the manager, Rick, and the mechanic who would do my exhaust service (quote was $15 cheaper than the place across town). They had to order the cat, but ended up getting it installed for me on the same day, even though I was running a bit late for my appt. Even installed a new 02 sensor I had brought in, free of charge. I came here for a simple oil change and then the mechanic ended up telling me I had to replace my axle because it was leaking though I had it fixed months ago. They also tried to add charges for transmission and radiator fluid. They deceived me and I agreed to get the axle replaced. Now my car is wobbling when I accelerate and I'm going to have to get it checked again someplace else. It's most likely because the mechanics did not do a thorough job servicing my vehicle and possibly damaged some parts. Mike always takes very good care of me when I bring in my car and provides great customer service. They have done my oil changes, tire rotations, brakes, and most recently helped diagnose/repair and perplexing issue. What I appreciate most is their honesty. Most chains try to tack on every service under the sun and it's hard to know what is necessary vs. what is not; Mike and his team perform only the work that is necessary and do not try to take advantage of their customers. When I started getting quotes for all the maintenance I needed for my car, new rotors (because another Midas store told me I needed them), brakes, transmission fluid flushed, and alignment I was getting quotes over $800 for it. Then my buddy told me about Mudas in Redlands I thought "why not". After inspection they found that my rotors didn't need replacement but still needed all the other maintainence. Well my total came out to be way less than $800. I'm so happy I came here. The team was honest and got me back on the road in about 2 hours.
