I had a very bad experience with Midas. I brought my car to them for a diagnostic and repair, and they charged me for the service but failed to fix the problem. The same day I picked up my car, it was still not working correctly -- the issue was exactly the same as before. I trusted them to do the job right, but they didn't. I tried to resolve it with them, but they refused to take responsibility. Now the matter is in court because I'm trying to get my money back. Very disappointed in their service and honesty. I would not recommend this location to anyone who expects real diagnostics or proper repairs. WARNING regarding MIDAS on 60th Avenue and Bell Road. After trying for a couple of months to have the local and corporate level of Midas take ownership of the damage that was done to my truck and then stopping my attempts through a lot of life circumstances derailing me, I feel now that I must warn others of what has been done to me. Here is what I sent to the BBB last week. The BBB have responded and said that they have sent my allegations to the shop and are hoping that they will respond. I am not holding my breath as I already had an attorney reach out to them when I was first trying to get this resolved. Here's the BBB complaint: I am reaching out regarding damage done to my 2019 Toyota Tacoma catalytic converters and exhaust system on 7/11/23. This damage was incurred through the negligent installation of a supposed security measure for preventing the theft of my catalytic converters by Midas Muffler, located at 6021 West Bell Road, Glendale, AZ 85308. Not only has the methodology that Midas used been determined to be useless in aiding my attempts to protect my vehicle, Midas did irreparable damage to my exhaust system by burning holes in multiple places in their attempt to weld a piece of rebar to my system. I have three other mechanic shops who have verified this in writing for me. The actual shop refused to have a representative come to my mechanic's shop (which is only five minutes from their location) so that my mechanic could point out what they were seeing and why they believed it was Midas' work that caused the damage. In summary, I paid Midas $100.00 to protect my exhaust system and instead had my exhaust system irreparably damaged. Making my truck's exhaust system whole again cost $3,540.91. (End of BBB complaint.) Three different mechanic shops quoted right in the $3,400-$3,600 range for completely bringing my exhaust system back to the pristene condition it had been before. And think of it, why should I have to have a welded up and scarred under-bottom when I am not responsible for the damage brought through unskilled and unethical mechanics? I have downloaded two pictures. I have several more pictures but these two give you the idea of how they just took a piece of rebar and attempted to weld it to my entire exhaust system, including the catalytic converters. I was informed that not only is this methodology worthless in stopping a thief, the metal that this rebar is made of was not compatible for welding to the type of metal the exhaust system is made of. This is probably what caused the mechanic to continue with too much heat, which caused the holes, as they attempted to make an incompatible weld. The only reason I ever went to Midas was because my mechanic shop doesn't do anything that requires a weld. I have never posted anything like this before but the absolute disregard and rudeness received in trying to get this resolved demands others to be warned. I also just posted my story on Nextdoor a few days ago and approximately 5,700 folks viewed my post in just three days. I came in at 2 pm for my scheduled oil change. I chose to wait for the service. I was not told the service would take over 2 hours. When I asked for an eta I was told "they're draining your oil". That was after waiting an hour and a half. I would have appreciated more communication especially since i had an appointment. This location has a Groupon for wheel alignment. I purchased it, set and appointment and when I got there the service manager refused to do the work claiming that the entire rack and pinion needed to be replaced before they could do it. Not only did he usher me out, but didn't even show me what he was talking about or provide a estimate for repair. I thought this was a full service shop. He was rude and uncooperative. I spoke to another manager to let them know and he said he'll "research what happened and call me back". Never did. Why do you even have a Groupon to drum up business? BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION (67th and Peoria) We found a Groupon promo for an oil change at $22 and brake pads with labor for $97...called this location and spoke with Brandon who told us to come on in and said he'd match any rate. He scoffed a bit and said the owner at the bell location is always running Groupons and it was good for his business because he always matches. After having our vehicle for 5 hours we got a call and got a quote for $3300. We decided not to move forward with the repairs as this was not the price match we were anticipating. When we went in Brandon asked what we decided and we let him know we were just going to take the van, his reply was "after all that you are doing nothing?!" He was visibly annoyed and went on to check us out for the oil change that we already had completed. $39.99 came up on the screen and I told him he had promised to price match the $22 Groupon. His response was that the $39.99 included the tax. Only after we paid, he printed the receipt and folded it closed. I opened it up right in front of him and was surprised to the the price he charged before taxes was $29.99. I told him, this is not $22 and he shrugged and said "whelp, I guess I forgot. That's the best I can do." I asked for a higher up and he said he was the higher up, there was nobody above him but the owner and said I couldn't have that info. Talk about a bait and switch! He never planned on honoring any of the discounted rates, he just got us in and it was a tailspin from there. After leaving, we called another Midas and were quoted $600 less. Had to go somewhere else, paid for another alignment - found the Midas alignment was off by 1/2 inch. In a front end alignment that is massive! These people have been charging me for work that was never completed on my truck, recently I was told to bring my truck back for a front end alignment that was already paid for. And I have four brand new tires, I got a nail in a tire and the tire shop is telling me my tires are worn from needing an alignment. And saying I need to replace 2 of them in front. Midas has been supposedly doing my oil changes tire rotation and shocks and struts and alignment. And to hear this is very upsetting. (67th ave and Peoria) MANAGER RICARDO IS TRASH. This is one of the most untrustworthy Midas's in the state. I brought my car in for an oil change in the beginning of May. They forgot to put a new sticker on my windshield which they normally do, but I had not noticed until 2 and half months later my oil light comes on. I then bring it to them and they say I was driving with no oil in my car and now I need a new transmission. My mom's car had an engine light on and she brought it in. They said they could not find anything wrong and that maybe it was an error code. Front desk guy said he trusts his mechanics, so if they say it's good it's good. Fast forward 3 weeks later and my cars engine shuts down and has reduced power to protect the engine from dying because.... You guessed it. Something was wrong and the light indicating that was right and him and his mechanics were wrong. There is no trust, no quality, no value in going to this location. Had an oil change today. They put the wrong weight oil in my vehicle uses 5W20. They used 5W30. They told me I needed to have my radiator flushed. It was replaced last year! No, it doesn't need a flush. Then they said I had a oil leak but they could only locate the oil leak if they did this service of degreasing and washing the engine. Which is a complete lie. Often you can just wipe it down with a couple of paper towels and see where it's coming from. The whole experience was just poor. I had forgotten why I didn't use this Midas because I didn't have a good experience about 8 years ago. The service writers seem more interested in making commission by selling you services you don't need and to have them financed is the impression I received. Not only from my own experience, but from listening to the service writers speaking to the other customers about their vehicles. 10 years ago a friend of mine had a brake master cylinder replaced at this same location. She was busy and didn't have the time to change it herself and notified the service writer that the brake cylinder on her vehicle used a special double master, they installed the wrong master cylinder. On the drive home, she stepped on the brakes and there was no breaking. Luckily she was able to use the handbrake and stop the vehicle without getting in a wreck. She went home that night and went to AutoZone and picked up the right master cylinder and changed it out. Then she went back and got her money back. Normally I don't give reviews on auto repair facilities because there's so many variables and experience of the mechanic. But this experience was so bad I had to make a review. read more

They needed a special filter for my car and instead of turning me away they had someone go get what they needed so I was taken care of. Zero stars. Worst shop in the valley. Rough I. My truck at least 10 different times for an engine light. They couldn't fix it. Paid them 2 different times. Then tell me to take it to the dealership. No refund and then he tells me hey we didn't charge you for the last diagnostics test. No shit I wouldn't have paid it anyway. Hundreds of dollars given to them to fix an evap leak they couldn't fix. ZERO stars! Absolutely NO! I DROVE my 2001 Yukon xl Denali to this location. I had a check engine light. That's the only reason why I have this car in for. Signed a $89 diagnosis fee to check, owner said might have to leave it one night . So I was ok with that to get it diagnose hoping they can help. Noticed the word drove is on all caps. Yes they had my car for over 24hrs no communications what so ever. The next morning I came back, Then I was told I have leaks on my manifold, this and this s add me that. So I said ok, then they said I might need a new engine??? So in my head, WTF. I know the car has a lot of miles, but it drives like a beast and it does not miss a beat! Then the owner said they checked everything else and it's good except for the o2 sensors does not read anything. And then I was asked how much to you love the car? Also told it all depends on how much I'm willing to spent to have it repaired. They said I might need a new engine $4-5k. I love the car and all but not for $5k. So the owner then said I'm not comfortable charging you anything. So I said ok I guess I'll just bring it elsewhere for a second opinion. Wtf. Mind you I drove the car to this location. I came back noon to drive it back home. When I tried to start the car, it wouldn't even start after trying it for 2 minutes. I didn't have this issue before, I had one of their tech look at and finally it started up, only to stall again at the stop light after getting out of the lot. I would've never know my engine filter was MISSING, that I had PAID for then, if it wasn't for him and his team! I came in only for an oil change bc there was NOTHING wrong with my car prior and my car was said to need a replacement filter and fuel injection--this almost costed me more money (that I don't have) for something that shouldn't have happened in the first place, bc "new guy" couldn't make sure he did his job right! Only reason i gave 3 stars is because they didn't charge me $85 to diagnose issue on my car. My car was idling erratically and would shut off at stops they changed they oil and cabin air filter and put it on a diagnostic and they said nothing was wrong with my car. I drove it for a day before the car began to shut off again so I took it to an actual mechanic and he discovered the o2 sensor needed replaced. What is the point of taking it to garage if they can't figure out what's wrong with your car? Isn't that their job??? I took my car elsewhere to be fixed because now I know Midas cannot figure how to diagnose a car let alone fix one. read more

This is by far the best customer service I've received at any automotive shop. It was clean and didn't smell like most shops I've been too. I've heard around my neighborhood that the place is under new ownership, it definitely is! You can tell that they actually care about you as a customer. Thomas is the owner, what a great guy. I had the standard oil change performed, it comes with a tire rotation. I was informed of some other issues that would need to be addressed in the future. An all around great experience, I know some many people write negative reviews if they feel slighted in anyway. I have been bringing my car here for years and always received excellent service and never felt like I was being taken advantage of. Unfortunately today ended this streak. Not only did they not address the primary reason for bringing the car to them in the first place, but they added in and charged for nonsense that didn't need to be fixed (filters, windshield wiper blades that were just replaced). Second time going there for maintenance on my car, and the service was fantastic. Under new management, and the customer service was superb. First went there for an oil change since I had a coupon, but now I just had to get my battery changed-- these guys made sure I didn't have to spend any more because I originally figured it was my alternator. Went to this Midas on the 1st of August came in for a routine oil change that turned into a nightmare. Took my car back because after after leaving with my car went all the way to the H & broke down in a parking lot with my infant in the car we were told to bring it back. Thomas was there who is supposedly the owner. All he did was point out everything that was wrong with my car after them only telling me that I needed two belts replaced and said that they had an individual working for them that was still "learning". I now do not have a working vehicle! I do not know what they did to my car but the routine oil changed was the worst thing I could have done at this place do not come here run and take your money somewhere else.
