The worst place to take your car to get your oil changed there is. They up sell everything and pass it off as "we inspect your car and don't just do oil changes" they try to find everything they can that's wrong with your car to scare you. Not to mention they take for ever, the efficiency was horrible, what should have taken a half hour took 2 hours and they play games to make it look like they are actually working. I always got my oil changed here, it was always 40 dollars and a few cents with the coupon and a some extra oil. This time it was over 60 dollars, I questioned the price twice but got no clear explanation, the oil was the same grade etc. When I picked the car up they also said I had 2 oil leaks and naturally quoted me to fix them, in fact I had to sign a document that said I refused the repair when I said I would look at it and determine if I was to go ahead with the "repair". 1 of the leaks being trans fluid. I'm not experienced in car issues or maintenance and when I went in for an oil change I didn't get things explain well to me. Made me feel like they took advantage of me not knowing what exactly my car needed to charge me a more expensive job. When my right front wheel started making a grinding noise after the service I went back to have them check they said 30 min but it ended up being 2 hours because I didn't have an appointment but I witnessed several other people without appointments being helped first. Worst experience ever! I brought my car in for an oil change last year. Curtis wanted to buy the car and a couple days after the service my car started to fail. I took the car back in and Curtis inspected the car, he said it was going to cost 4,000-6,000 to fix. he offered me $750. I took it. A month later, a parking ticket was issued to the car I sold him (right outside Midas) and was never paid. Curtis assured me that he would pay the fine and take care of the problem. When I stopped in Midas to address the issue with him, Curtis said he sold the car to someone else and it is not his problem. While I was in the shop, a girl came in and said to him "don't you remember me? You bought my car." I get the feeling he has bought a lot of cars from his customers. I just received my tax refund only to find that the state had intercepted my money to pay for the ticket. Now I'm going to have to take off work so I can take him to court. Curtis seems like an honest guy, but he screwed me and I have a feeling i'm not the only one. Do yourself a favor and take your car somewhere else, anywhere else! read more

I took my car to Midas to have my brakes checked. The manager met me in the lot and said he would have his guy take me home so I didn't have to wait in the lobby. I was immediately impressed with the customer service. While I waited at the register for him to input my information, I noticed a congratulations letter from Yelp - I thought - "I'm definitely in the right place". He advised me that they would call me within the hour to let me know what was wrong and how much the cost would be. 2.5 hours later and no call, I phoned to inquire the status. I was placed on hold and told "someone will call you back". Within 5 minutes, the manager phoned to tell me it took them a lot longer because they had to find a "tool" to remove my locks as they couldn't locate mine (it was in the spare tire pack and had they'd called me, I could have advised them). I had assumed their "tool" merely removed the locks and they would be able to put them back on. During our conversation he said I needed new rotors and breaks for the front and rear. I was quoted $952 and that included the $50 coupon he so generously offered me. I told them I would need to speak with my husband ($952 seemed a bit excessive). I was unable to reach him but phoned a few other places to check pricing and the dealership was much less ($619). I kindly declined their services and asked to have someone deliver my truck to me. It took another 2.5 hours. I called to inquire the status twice. The manager advised me they were almost done (on each of the 3 calls I placed). Frustrated, I told them I needed my vehicle by 2pm. They had already had it for 5 hours. They charged me for 4 new lug nuts because they ruined my locks. In total, I lost the money for 4 locks and $56 for the new lug nuts they had to put on. Plus, I lost 5 hours of work. I immediately drove to another local family owned business and asked them to replace my rotors and brakes. They advised me that I didn't need brakes or rotors. I still had 40% in the front and 60% in the back. My husband stopped by Midas to find out why they lied to us and stripped my locks without approval. The manager told my husband I had it all wrong and they did indeed get my permission. This was not the case. He also advised my husband that they measure with a ruler and other companies aren't as thorough. Really? 40% on the front and 60% on the back? Where to start. Advertised prices for oil changes are misleading, advertised cost does not include labor which will jack it up another $30. First time I brought my car in I was willing to pay the extra cost because I wanted to confirm if I needed new brakes or not along with the oil change, but what I didn't want was the extremely high pressure treatment when I said I wanted to shop around. Ended up saving almost $100 on the brakes by doing so! Bring my car in for a second time just out of convenient location and time available, and boy did it really cost me this time. My car was right in front of the window and I watched one guy go to town with the lug gun on my wheel, then he grabs a second guy to come try with a lug wrench... that struck me as quite suspicious... then I watch a third guy come over and just crank with the lug gun until the tire comes loose. Much to my non-surprise, I then get presented with a sheered off lug that is going to cost me $90 to replace because 'the last shop must have over-tightened'. Hm, funny how it's always the last shop and there's no way for me to prove what happened to either shop in order to actually make a claim of any kind. Well, I guess they were able to get that $100 out of me after all, since of course there's nothing you can do but pay what they want since you can't be driving around with a broken lug. Stay away from this place, but if you show up, plan on spending at least twice what you thought you would. I've never been to Midas before but I thought I would give them a chance because I really needed a oil change and I'm so sorry I did. I had a really bad day at work and just when I thought my day couldn't get worse, it did. The guy helping me Curtis, almost had me in tears with how rude he was. I noticed the charges for a regular oil change was going to cost me over $60 which is insane. I thought I had a coupon for them which I explained to him and he told me to look up one online. What ever happened to making the customer happy, instead of getting the most money you can out of someone. I couldn't wait to get out of there and I will never be returning back. I went to these guys a few times with good experiences until my latest (and last visit). It's always the same two guys at the counter...the boss (owner) and a younger guy that has the customer service skills of a rottweiler. My last visit told me that I CANNOT TRUST THESE GUYS. I went in with a coupon (printed from their website) for a few dollars off on oil change. The younger knucklehead told me that was only good for conventional oil and given that my wife's car had more than 80,000 miles it needed "high mileage oil" at a substantial upcharge. Seriously? I've worked for Chevron, so I know a few things about oil. I told him "no", I just want conventional oil, I don't need the high mileage stuff. He then told me he couldn't do that because they are liable if a customer drives away and their car engine blows up. (I should have just walked away at this point, but I didn't). The only way he could allow this is if he asked his boss, who was standing next to him working on another customer's paperwork. We stood there for about a minute, both watching his boss work on paperwork. Then I said, "well aren't you going to ask him?" He asked, and the boss tried to answer, but realized it was too complicated of a question for him to handle on the spot and he needed to finish up with the other paperwork. 1-2 minutes later, he took over the interaction with me. The knucklehead walked away. Now the boss comes over and takes a look at my info..."No problem on the high mileage oil, we won't use that." OK, you'd think we'd be rolling toward a successful transaction...nope. Then the owner says, "Oh...well this vehicle takes 5W30 oil, the coupon is only good for 10W30 conventional oil." (BTW: this is the same coupon I've used in the past for 5W30 oil with the same two guys. No where on the coupon did it say 10W30 only. "Conventional Oil" comes in different weights, 5W30 & 10W30 are both standard weights and are both conventional.) So then he tells me he's going to give me a deal on 5W30 and hands me a card from Texaco asks me to fill out my name and address for an instant rebate of $7...with that "favor" my oil change will be brought down to about 2x what it would have been with 10W30 oil. That's crazy...every other place charges the same for both. When you buy in stores, the oil is the same price. It's the same quality stuff, just different weights. So then I got annoyed with them. Later, after leaving I looked more closely at the Texaco card I had been filling out and realized he was upselling me on synthetic oil. I left my full name and address (which I obviously won't here). No response from any. Not a peep. I might as well post my letter here, below. *************************************************************************************** May 30, 2013 Dear Midas (Auto Services), I would like to report an unpleasant experience had by my sister and my self. My sister came to your services on 1797 Soscol Ave in Napa, CA to replace a car battery on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at a 1:00pm appointment, but only had with her a $10 coupon as well as $100 of the $164 owed for the service. She then called me to help pay the rest. When I arrived, we both walked into the building and approached a man named Curtis with no line waiting. With no eye contact and as others approached from behind, Curtis immediately looked over us and directly at a customer behind us saying, "I need to help these people." My sister responded with, "Sorry," and Curtis still said nothing. The customer behind us was a woman who appeared to be between 30 and 40 years of age, Caucasian, blue eyes, light brown hair, along with two Caucasian children (a blue-eyed blonde-haired toddler, and a green-eyed blonde-haired pre-teen girl). Curtis himself appeared to be 45-60 years of age, male, Caucasian, blue eyes, and light gray hair. Never was eye contact made with us once. When met with the customer behind my sister and I, Curtis' demeanor immediately changed. He became polite, friendly, engaging, smiled, consistently made eye contact, and this lasted for about ten minutes. Not only was Curtis' sudden change in demeanor clear (emphasized by our dismissal with no eye contact, explanation, manners, or even a response to my sister), it is also clear that my sister meets the criteria for the Americans with Disabilities Act. It is also clear that my sister is an ethnic minority. Curtis commented to my sister after he decided to wait on her (at the end of her transaction): "It's a good thing your sister is here." Ignorance and discrimination is contrary to the sentiment of the American public. Nowadays, most of us are friend and/or have family relations with someone who is either disabled or an ethnic minority, and have a very low tolerance for those who believe that human value belongs exclusively to a select group. This behavior will not be tolerated. We have a history of using your services, but as a result we are seriously considering other alternatives. I guess I should clarify my distaste for Midas. Every two years we have to get our cars smogged for California emition laws. Two years ago I had my catalytic converter and the muffler changed out at Midas of Napa. When I found out that the car would not pass this year, I was informed by super mechanic Andrew Trujanis that state law requires that the catalytic converter be good for 5 years or 50K miles. So I took the car back to Midas and informed them. Randy, the gentleman behind the counter was smug and told me that the CAT was changed 3 years ago. I told him that makes no sense as we smog our cars every two years and why would I smog 3 years ago when I am due this year? He would not give up the argument. When I drew his attention to the fast that the car only went 12K miles and that it didn't matter if it was 2 years or 3 years since the change, it was still under warranty. He reluctantly took the failed smog paper work that Andrew had prepared for me and began looking up the warranty rules. He said it would be a "few days" and he would call me. This was Friday Oct. 23. I called him back on Nov 2 because I had not heard from him for a "few days." He said the paper work was tied up at Midas Corp. and he would be in touch in a "few days." On Monday the 9th (more than 2 full weeks) he called to tell me the part was ready. I told him I would get him the car this week. Then the whole $50 dollar thing happened with the labor (previous posts). I consulted a few good mechanics I know, and as it turns out this is customary to charge for labor on a warrantied part. I still think that is crap! If you had not put a piece of $hit part in my car I would not have the inconvenience of brining it back to you to be charge for labor! Then he tells me that my O2 sensor is out and wants $254 for the part and another $50 to put it in... this takes 15 minutes MAX on a lift! I freaked out! I called Andrew who will get it for me for $100. As a result, I will not be back Midas of Napa. read more

Places and ppl like this give real mechanics a bad name told my sister she should not drive on her brakes they were unsafe. Called me and ask if she should get the work done I said send me a pic of the inspection sheet. Which mysteriously was not provided. So I called to ask with concern if her brakes were so bad I would tell her go back and leave her car and pay the 800 dollars also I was a skeptic because pads were just done a year ago. This Curtis guy says we don't have the work orders anymore I don't remember. She should have one I said she does not. Of course I cursed him and called back asking for manager other guys says no we don't put recommendation notes in the computer this must be a everyday stop for the BAR bureau of automotive repair. Poor customer service poor communication. I would go to the dealer before I recommend this place to someone. The funny thing is if they have me the info I would have said to do the work and payed for it. Crooks jokes service advisor should sell used Cars since that's about all they seem to know is making a dollar. If u don't treat customers in a professional way you loose biz. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!! My husband and I gave them two tries. The first time, we took our truck there for exhaust work. Curtis did not call us with information when we were repeatedly told he would. When my husband did reach him, it was always said he was waiting for the manifold and would call later that day with information regarding the part. However, as stated, he NEVER called. This went on repeatedly for several weeks. We assumed that maybe because the truck had a manifold that would be an extremely challenging fix, that maybe he was hesitant to try to fix it and just didn't want to tell us, hence stringing us along. As a result we took it elsewhere and it was fixed for a fraction of the cost. We recently decided to try using Midas again for a different repair that would not be nearly as difficult to fix. Once again, we dealt with the exact same problem. On repeated occasions, we were told he would call by the end of the day letting us know the status of part delivery and no calls were received. The last 3-4 weeks of our waiting, he kept stating the part would arrive by the end of the week and would call. Surprise, surprise......again he never did. After 7-8 weeks of this game and the truck getting worse, we gave up on this facility. The service, or lack thereof, is absolutely HORRIBLE!!! After reading the reviews on this site and how the majority are not good reviews about this Midas on Soscol Ave, Napa, CA, one would think some changes would be made at this facility by upper management to save the reputation of Midas. Tells me Midas does care about customer satisfaction. We will NEVER attempt to use ANY Midas in the future and will discourage anyone else from going there as well. Complete dissatisfaction!!! A few hours after originally posting this review, my husband received a call from Curtis. He tried putting the blame on the warranty company. We have had that warranty company cover several repairs on the vehicle prior to moving here and another huge repair since being here. (unfortunately, that mechanic is not open weekends and it needed to be a weekend repair now that we are down to one vehicle). Midas is the only place we have experienced the above spoken treatment. Parts were always received within a week for the necessary repairs with no issues at other places. Nor is the warranty company responsible for lack of professionalism and lack of communication as repeatedly promised or the irritation from them hanging up on my husband on at least 3 different occasions when he called to check status. I've been a car enthusiast for 40 years, own five cars and have had ownership experience with many makes of varying vintages. I have worked with dozens of shops over the years with both newer and classic vehicles and have done quite a bit of wrenching myself. Brought a car here for an oil change and afterwards was shown oil actively dripping down from the main seal area onto the ground and was told I needed a $2k+ repair. I noticed the oil was fresh and asked "is that the rate it's leaking at?" the mechanic's reply was "Yes". Have since driven the car hundreds of miles and there's no leak, at least not one that's enough to drip from the engine or detectably burn off. This vehicle has never needed to be topped off between changes. The two times I've been here, the oil change has taken twice as long as estimated and a tech with absolutely filthy hands has been the one that's pulled the car out from the bay, touching the steering wheel and shift lever even though there are two service advisors who keep their hands clean. The reviews here show hit and miss. I'd guess that the professionalism and friendly manner of the advisors drives high ratings on the positive reviews but based on my experience here and the purpose of the service, front of the shop courtesy is not relevant to this review. I've had two cars in here that I believe were "misdiagnosed", both with higher mileage, draw your own conclusions. read more

My Check Engine light went on and I thought Midas did a code check complimentary so I was close and stopped in. When I asked they said they no longer do that but I can pay for a diagnostic at a reduced special rate of $99. I agreed as I was concerned as to why the light came on. It seemed to be taking a long time as I was watching and when I inquired they said they wanted to take the vehicle on a road test. After 45 minutes I asked what is going on with this test drive? He said it is a road test.... I responded 20 minutes is a Road Test ....an hour is a test drive...tell him I want my truck back. While back they seemed to have some discussion and then who I assume is the manager had a chat with me. You have a P0302 code which shows loss of power. We changed the coils and it still has loss of power. They recommended new plugs, ignition coils and a Cat Convertor. I was also warned not to drive it as It would do more damage. What you do not realize I have been a General Sales Manager of an Auto Dealership as well as I have plenty of mechanics I can talk to. So I just shared what was said to me and showed the bill. #1. You could not have looked at the plugs before you recommended we replace them. You would have to have remove the manifold and you would have needed more time to do this. So you are recommending a repair that you could not have possibly known was an issue. By the way the plugs were replaced 18 months ago already. #2. The Cat Convertor did not have a code before you recommend this repair. When the Cat Convertor is going out you would have significant loss of power. The power loss you are talking about does not match up. When a Cat Convertor goes out you can barely drive on the streets because the RPM goes up but you dont have any power to back it up. The truck has normal power. #3. If you Google the code it just means a misfire. This could mean anything from a Bad Sparkplug to a sensor. But since you did not take the time to go through the steps to check it how are you possibly making suggestions about something you did not look at? I talked to not only my shop where I consult at but check 2 other independent shops. All agreed without knowledge of the other that this is not serious and if I would have paid the $3500 I would have been taken advantage of. The repair estimated was more in the range of a $30 part and a couple of hours labor. You also kept saying I need to maintain the truck which I did not say anything in response. What you obviously did not know is I do have my truck maintained and everything is done when my mechanics tell me what to do. Not all customers have my connections and could throw the B.S. Flag that I thought you were giving me while there. I wonder how many innocent Napans you take advantage of by recommending unneeded repairs and trying to make people feel in danger for not doing what you are requesting. Shame on you read more

Never again. Dishonest AND incompetent. I was taking my family's three vehicles here for awhile, but no more. On my most recent visit I asked for an oil change and also a brake inspection, because I was getting some pulsating when coming to a stop. I was told it would be 45 minutes to an hour. I went for a walk and came back about an hour later. My truck was up on the rack with the wheels off, and nobody working on it. No big deal, until that went on for another hour. Finally Curtis came out and showed me a quote for all new brakes, rotors, suspension, alignment, you name it. The quote was over $2,300, that included the current "special" they had going. I promptly took my truck to another local shop for a second opinion on the brakes. They measured my rotors and said they were fine, plenty left on them and they could be turned (ground down to even them out, thus eliminating the pulsating). Pads and drums were fine. $85 out the door to turn the rotors, a far cry from the $832 brake quote I received from Midas. Issue number two was found when I recently went on a road trip. I typically check a few things out on my vehicle before I leave, tire pressure, oil/tranny fluid, etc. I checked my air filter, and when I was doing do noticed that the cover had not been properly latched closed. When I opened the cover to check the filter, I was surprised to see THERE WAS NO AIR FILTER. I had been driving around for about 2 months without an air filter. Going through some of the other reviews here, it looks like they have a track record of providing inflated and/or unnecessary quotes. Between that and the fact that they forget something as basic as an air filter, I'm done. read more

Worst experience I have ever had dealing with a business! Brought my daughter's car in for a new catalytic converter, and they replaced the whole exhaust system! $2200.00!! For a 2000 Toyota Celica. Then when it was ready we went to get it smogged and now it is throwing 3 extra engine codes!!, brought it back , he said maybe the sensors they used were bad and supposedly swapped in new ones. They drove the car around and then said it was good to go, took it back to the smog place, guess what the new oxygen sensors were still throwing the codes!!!!. He said bring it back again and again he said they will fix it, and then they said good to go again, and we picked it up, and while they had the car, they got two tickets in the car in my daughter's name!!! I did my own research found a YouTube video of a professional mechanic replacing the oxygen sensors on the same year and model car as my daughter's. And guess what?? Midas had the sensors in backwards!!! They had the front one installed in the back and the back one on the front!!!!. I told Curtis this , and he said bring it in again, we did, and when we got the car back they didn't even touch the sensors!! Just wasted my time!!!, I PICKED IT UP AGAIN!!, and swapped the sensors myself, and guess what??? The codes were gone!!!!?!???***%&$##. 3 months of my life wasted on the incompetence of Midas!!! Great experience! Thank you, Robert! (I think your name was Robert...) I brought my totally dead car in after AAA tried to jump it. Mr. Battery Guy checked the battery, said it was already at 100%, so there was nothing he could do but call me a proper tow truck. So we tow my car to Midas. As soon as my car is off the truck, Robert (who I'd already spoken to on the phone) popped the hood and immediately saw the problem. My battery wasn't dead, it was disconnected. He put everything back in place, tightened it up, double-checked that everything was good, and sent me on my merry way for free. He did not try to take advantage of me or pretend to fix a problem that wasn't there. He was very honest and friendly. Simple problem, simple solution, no fuss. It was so quick and easy he didn't even charge me anything. I don't know much about cars, and always worry that shops make up things to sell me on, so I always get a second opinion first. No need this time. They were so helpful. This trip to Midas restored my faith in the store. Thank you so much! I'll be back for my next oil change. read more

I would highly recommend this place. I got a flat tire (riding on rim) on a Saturday night. Midas was the only place open Sunday. Curtis and Robert were wonderful. Not only did they answer my call before they opened but found the tires I needed and had them brought in from an hour away. They quoted me a price which was fair and I was in and out in two hours. Same type of experience as everyone else. Up-sell, up-sell, up-sell. I went here for an oil change and "inspection." They changed the oil and then called me telling me all of the things that I needed to do. New brake pads, new rotors, and new calipers, new tires, belts, windshield wipers and the list went on. When I told them I wasn't interested in the extensive work they wanted to perform the price started to drop. I finally agreed on a price to replace brake pads, rotors and calipers based on the lower price and mail in rebate. I went to pick up my car a few minutes before they closed. The price was nearly $100 more than what I was quoted on the phone. They had printed the "quote" on the oil change, but failed to print the quote they gave me over the phone. They said they couldn't explain why the price went up, but that the job took a lot longer and I was lucky that they didn't charge me more for the labor. The other weird thing is that when I showed up, I watched them drive my car off the lot to do a test drive. I then waited over 20 minutes for the "test drive." They told me that brakes are very important to my safety and they test them in different ways at different speeds...blah blah. Oh and traffic was probably to blame for the 20 minute test drive. The only reason I give 2 stars rather than one is that I knew I needed new brakes (which is why I agreed to let them replace the brakes when they told me the long long list of things they wanted to do). Bottom line: Don't accept their offer to do extensive labor from results of their "inspection." The oil changes were neither cheap nor quick. read more

I had 4 o'clock appointment. I thought when you had an appointment that meant you would be serviced at your appointment time.....no......they didn't acknowledge me when I arrived.... I sat in the lobby while other customers came in for their appointments too and had to listen to another customer who was angry. Finally after 35 mins someone helped me. They didn't even start on my car until an hour after my appointment. The guy up front seemed very cocky and condicending....trying to tell me what a VIN# was. Duh! I am a woman but I'm not totally oblivious to common things. That was irritating. My car was done at 6 pm. Two hours for an oil change? Good grief. And.....I had a coupon for $29.99. It was over $40 and they charged me to put air in my tires. Since when does air cost money? Will not be going there again. read more

I take all my cars to Midas Napa for the regular service and often for bigger issues which may be better left to auto dealers with their techs. Curtis's team at Midas has always been fine with me. They even highlighted some issues regarding the wrong parts that other people told me to install. Never even a hint of anything shady. They are BUSY all the time -that should tell you something! I stopped by to get an oil change for my 2015 Chevy Suburban. Asked them how much it will, the New Guy told me it's $59.00 for oil Change also they have prices listed inside the store. I just asked to double check. He said tire rotation is free. But when I came back to PU my vehicle the invoice was showing for Oil change $89.00 + $35.00 for Extra Engine Oil be its V8 2015 Suburban. They charged $4 for adjusting the Air in Tires. I Told the guy I already the correct air in tires he said they always adjust to manufacture recommendations. Ended up Paying $137.28 Total for Oil Change. Vallejo Chevorlet change $88.50 Total and Firestone in Fairfield $78 Total per Oil change so I asked what special kind of oil change they did. While the guy was pulling up the Invoice I pulled up the Online Discount Rates for Oil change special. He said it's not valid cause I have show before he took the vehicle in earlier. The only automotive place open on the Sunday before the 4th of July. My Mini's idiot light went on for a low left front tire. After trying to clear the light unsuccessfully by inflating it, I pulled in to Midas Speedee on Soscol in Napa. They were busy and the bays were full, but they took my car in almost immediately, did something with it for twenty minutes or so, came back and said, "All good! We spun the tires, no leak, and we reset the sensors. Drive it for 15 minutes and the light will go off." The service writer handed me my keys and said, "No charge. Have a great day!" What? No charge? Have a nice day? Old single lady, freaking out because there might be something wrong, and they could have charged me a premium amount for the service, but didn't. While waiting in the lobby, I met two men who have been coming here for years. One drives up from Vallejo for regular oil changes. read more

Scam artist. $1400 Brake job had to be redone twice. Then blamed brakes rattling on the struts. $1700 to replace struts. Car is now rattling even worse. Went to another shop and was informed by them that most of the things that we were charged for were never replaced. All of the old original parts were still in place. Not only is this guy a ripe off. The things he is claiming to replace or fix but doesn't could actually end up killing someone in a dangerous car wreck. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. read more

Curtis is amazing. We will always go here. We live 1/2 hour away, but we can't get over the help. I went and had my oil changed at a competitor, because of a groupon. They said to me that I needed new Shocks and Struts. I called my husband and he immediately said call Midas. I got an appointment that day and he proceded to tell me nothing was wrong with my car except the Oil cap wasn't tightened. Went for a scheduled oil change with a $19.99 coupon. However when I got there I was given a $64.99 estimate!! I was told that the coupon was only valid for regular oil, and that my vehicle required premium oil (2006 Camry). I was then offered a $15 discount, which I refused. I was already having a bad morning (spilled my daughter's entire smoothie in my car, not to mention being late for work!), so I decided to just go elsewhere. As I was literally driving out of Midas, Curtis, the manager came out, stopped me, and asked what had happened. After I explained the situation, he validated my frustration, offered me to do the oil change for $29, and said "I will make your morning better." What could have been a zero star review, turned into a 5-Star, all because of one smart and caring person. I even paid for an extra service (much needed, new cabin filter), which I always refuse whenever I go to a mechanic! Thanks Curtis! read more

Last saturday i went to Midas to have my tank empty because i put diesel in my car. i talked to Curtis the boss of that place and he told me they would "take care" of me. I had my car take to his shop. It was approximately 2 miles away from where i was. He had my car look at it by his team and then he gave me the estimate. i almost had a heart attack. i did not even drive my car when i realize that i misread the pump and put diesel in my car... Please guess how much they charge me $3800 to fix it. At this price i better just add 1 0r 2 k and buy a used car.He gave me a list of lot of parts to replace I did not have that much cash available. He told that he car try to replace some of the part and that the car ca work and reduced my bills to $1700. Even at that price i could not afford it. He offered me to sign up and opened this credit card from GE. I refused to do it. Since i refused to have him do the work, hue charged me to put the tank back on my car another $105 so that $210 just to take it apart and empty the tank. Don't forget the towing that i paid $100 for less that a mile. I ended up paying $310 and my car was not working. I was so frustrated that a friend that lives in Napa recommend me to go to Chuck repair shop which was down the street. Unfortunately that guy does not open on the week end so i went Monday morning and he changed the plugs and charged me $90 and checked if everything works great. GUYS MIDAS IN NAPA THAT GUY CURTIS IS RIPOFF. He got $310 from me and was planning to take another $3800. I can't believe people are able to do that. Chuck auto repair is honest and doing a good job. My car is running great. Right after the repair i drove 400 miles from Napa to Los angeles. read more
