Pit Stop diagnosed it within 15 minutes! Not only are they good and fast at what they do, but their prices are very reasonable. Most important, they are honest! The owner/ manager, Leon is a great guy and will give you options, depending on your cars situation. I've been to a few mechanics in the area and I think Pit Stop is as good as it gets.

After an hour I asked for an update and was told they didn't have the right filter for my car and needed to go buy one before they could even start. No one had mentioned this during the full hour I was sitting there. I said never mind and asked for my keys, and then they couldn't find them. Apparently the technician had taken my keys with him to get gas. Eventually they returned them and I left. I drove straight to Jiffy Lube and ten minutes later my oil change was done. Zero out of ten. I would never go back to Firestone.

Today I actually took a video so I could record the sound the car was making when it cranked up for the first time in the morning. Do not provide business to Affordable Tire and Auto Service…read more It pains me to write this review after a year and a half of good service at Affordable Tire and Auto Service. After replacing all four brakes and attempting to diagnose a steering wheel wobble over a few visits, I noticed damage to the underside of my vehicle. My vehicle is a full-size Ford Transit commercial van and it was obvious that someone jacked it up on the body welds where you would lift a minivan or small car, denting it. In the most cordial manner possible, I brought this to the attention of Martin, understanding that mishaps happen. He maintained a position that his shop was not at fault for the damage. I demonstrated that his floor jack fit into the dent. I have pictures of the underside of my vehicle before the damage occurred and the vehicle was not serviced anywhere else for over a year. There is no reasonable explanation other than the damage occurring by them. Begrudgingly, Martin agreed to have my vehicle repaired. The next few weeks went by with many unreturned voice messages and texts, and finally a visit to a body shop of his choosing that turned down the job. The second body shop he sent me to provided a quote which I promptly sent to Martin to review. Another few weeks went by with difficulty reaching him. At no point did he ever try to initiate any contact to move towards a resolution. When I got back in touch with Martin over a month had gone by since bringing the issue to his attention. In order to try to bring the matter to conclusion, and avoid having my van tied up for weeks at the body shop, I offered to reach a settlement for an amount below the estimate. This angered him and he seemed to think this whole matter was some kind of scam. A week before my appointment to drop off the vehicle for repair I received a call from the body shop informing me I needed to provide a deposit for half of the amount. When I told them Affordable Tire would be responsible for the cost they further recommended they pay the entire quote in advance to avoid any problems releasing the vehicle to me when it is completed (the repair cost was relatively small in terms of body work). For the next several days both the body shop and myself tried to reach Martin with none of the texts or voicemails getting answered. When I reached him he was upset that a deposit was required and was unwilling to pay the total in advance. On a follow-up call he told me the deposit was taken care of. The morning I dropped off the car the body shop told me the deposit still was not paid. I got Martin on the phone and he personally came to the body shop in anger. He had a position that he has a special relationship with the body shop and didn't think he should pay anything in advance but eventually put the 50% deposit down. On the service paperwork I wrote "to be paid by Affordable Tire and Auto Service" and kindly asked Martin to initial it. To this he became irate and totally refused to put anything in writing. Eventually he stormed out saying "I ain't signing nothing!" In shock at these events, I had to go sit in my car to decide what to do. With the past as a guide, I can only expect further frustration dealing with Martin and it's not worth the hassle. I profusely apologized to the staff at the body shop and left with my van. With Martin's unwillingness to put the agreement in writing I am forced to explore either small claims court or start an insurance claim which will seek damages on their business liability coverage. It's worth mentioning in this saga that the repair estimate was not very high, about the same amount I paid Affordable Tire to get four brakes done. This makes it particularly sad because my motivation was not to recoup money, it was to give them an opportunity to make things right and hopefully continue using their service. Do not provide business to Affordable Tire and Auto Service.

I don't typically leave negative reviews, but I felt this experience was worth sharing…read more I purchased the basic wash and vacuum package, and everything seemed fine until I got home and noticed several scratches on my vehicle that were not there beforehand. They aren't severe, and I believe they'll likely buff out, but they were definitely left by the wash and weren't something that could simply be wiped away with a microfiber cloth. I returned to let the staff know, not expecting anything unreasonable, but hoping they would at least acknowledge the issue and look into whether the equipment might need maintenance. Unfortunately, the response was dismissive, and no solution or concern was offered. I have grace for businesses and understand that employees may not always know how to handle situations like this. However, if you operate a car wash, it's your responsibility to maintain equipment that comes into contact with customers' vehicles. Even scratches that can be buffed out shouldn't happen during a routine wash, and the lack of concern was the most disappointing part of the experience :(

I went to this location based off of some great previous reviews on Google. I am not sure what the hype is all about. I asked for the $19.99 oil change, and tire rotation. I made sure to ask them to let me know how my brakes and tires were. I was told that it would be 45min to an hour tops. 2 Hours later they pulled my car around and told me that my car was ready. I asked how my tires and brake pads looked and the guy at the counter seemed confused and stated that they didn't rotate the tires and said that the brakes were fine. I asked if I could see an inspection sheet and everything was marked in green which means good, I assume. I just had my car at NTB for a free alignment and told me that I needed tires very soon and brake pads and rotors, basically I needed a second opinion and did not get that. read more

During a brief visit to Charleston while traveling from Tampa, FL to Charlotte our car started making a strange noise coming from the right front wheel. We stopped @ Midas (Mt. Pleasant) to have it checked, almost certain it was the brake. When they heard we were traveling and this was our only vehicle they immediately put in on the rack to check it. They found the plastic cover over the wheel well was missing a couple screws and had fallen down. They replaced the screw and had us back on the road in 10 minutes or less. Even better, they didn't charge us anything. I couldn't have wished for a better experience. The manager and employees of the Midas shop in Mt. Pleasant, SC really went totally out of their way to repair our car and get us back on the road traveling safely. The main problem was finding an absolutely necessary part. We were 3 hours from home and broke down. The manager spent 2-3 hours and his own labor finding the necessary part, brought it back to the shop where his employees fixed our car. Daniel and Rob at the front of the shop were pleasant and welcoming at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday morning. Daniel took all my info as a new customer, and gave me a good idea of the time involved for my oil change request. I've got an ancient Honda, and of course items needed to be fixed, so new tires, cleaning brake pads, and brake fluid change also occurred. The technician was able to fix my AC line with a hose clamp rather than replacing the whole line to my rear AC, which would have cost ~$1282. It would have been very easy for them to tell me the whole thing needed to be replaced, but they were honest only charged me the diagnostic fee. My car is quite old and I had heard some rattling that stopped, so figured I should take it to the dealership to confirm the issue. It was in fact the cats and they are quite expensive to repair (parts contain platinum or something, literally), but I wanted to make sure there weren't any other issues. When I asked about getting them from a junkyard off another vehicle, the representative at the dealership was awesome and recommended I reach out to Eddie to see if he could get them for me "after market". I contacted Eddie and he researched them for my vehicle and was able to quote a replacement for about half price! He got them in within a few days, but I was going out of town so that's the only reason for a delay in getting the work done. He explained he would need the car all day so we scheduled it for my return. The office is pretty minimal, keeping costs down as you can imagine. He has just what is necessary. One office "secretary" (what is the PC term?) who manages customers, takes orders, and probably runs the show! The shop is in a warehouse with few bells and whistles. He still uses a flip phone, so don't expect to text him! Most everything seems to be still done on paper, too. Whatever works, I guess! When I arrived to leave my vehicle, I checked in and was planning to grab an Uber or Lyft ride downtown to work. The woman said she thought Eddie could take me, and sho nuf, he did! No questions asked. I did have to get a ride back in the afternoon, but the car was ready earlier than anticipated, preventing me from getting in too much traffic. One other thing, if you're looking for the building, turn in by the granite and t-shirt shops and go to the very end and they're on the left. The wheel bearings that Eddie himself just a week ago told me were fine! I went to Dupont Auto before this vacation to get my Outback looked over for any potential road trip issues, including an engine code that was being thrown and EXPLICITLY requested that the rear wheel bearings be looked at. I had an inspection at Suby Doctors a year ago and they indicated that the wheel bearings were starting to go. I needed to save money for this work to be done. As the year went on, I personally didn't notice any additional noise (as should indicate failing bearings), so, pre-vacation, I cam to Dupont for a 2nd opinion on these bearings. An 02 sensor change fixed the code issue, and I was told that the rear bearings were fine. That the "car was in great shape". That obviously isn't the case, after arriving at our destination in the mountains and on our way back from a supply run, the road noise in the cabin became extremely pronounced and appeared to be coming from the rear driver side wheelwell. Obviously the wheel bearings are shot! So now I'm up here, with my family, on the winding roads of the NC mountains, with an unsafe vehicle, wasting a precious vacation day, because Dupont Auto, for whatever reason, decided not to check what I had explicitly asked them to check! I hate giving a one star review, because I try to find something redeemable about everyone. Running a small business is hard, and I think DuPont Auto is (mostly) honest, but I also think they are lazy. If you didn't check the wheel bearings, something I explicitly requested, due to time or forgetting, then just tell me that! I'll be upset, but a lot less upset than I am right now sitting in this repair shop. Anyway, hope you enjoy the $300 you got for oxygen sensor replacement, it's the last money you'll be getting from me, and the last time that I'll jeopardize my family's safety by taking my cars here. I'm taking my Outback to Suby Doctors exclusively now. They found this issue over a year ago!

These guys, led by Chip Keller are hacks. If you value your vehicle, DO NOT take it to this place…read more Overall, work was sloppy and unprofessional. Just a few examples: to remove the rusty exhaust pipes, they cut the bolts on the exhaust manifold instead of just cutting off the old pipes. This misstep later led to an expensive trip to the machine shop to repair the damage. The doors were way out of adjustment, causing the need to slam the doors to get them closed. Also, the paint on the door edges and body became chipped because of the maladjustment. To fix this problem later, the fenders had to be pulled forward to access the door hinges, causing the excessive bondo to break. A proper adjustment before painting the car would have avoided this problem altogether. The paint job itself was of such poor quality, that it will need to be completely repainted. What bothers me the most about my experience with Low Country Paint Body & Restoration is that my classic 1965 Malibu SS was treated like a piece of junk during the 3-month stay at this shop. At times I stopped by shop to check on the progress and found the car with food or drinks laying in the trunk or on the roof. I had to point out what I thought were obvious defects that weren't getting fixed, always getting excuses and requests for more money. When I did get the car back, I had to spend hours cleaning up all the dirt and dust that had built up in every nook and cranny of the car. No care was taken to protect the car from the dust and debris that permeated the shop. When I picked up the car, it was covered with thick dust over the new paint. Their remedy was to wash the car using a hose and a long-handled brush (ugh). Since there were no door or trunk seals, water seeped in causing the inner trunk paint to wash off in big blotches. There wasn't one panel on the car that didn't have blemishes. The roof was under-sprayed with color and the grey primer shows through. I was a fool to take my car to Lowcountry Paint Body and Restoration. Please don't make the same mistake I did.
