Deceitful! They were supposed to perform a tire rotation and pressure check, among other services, but they didn't! My vehicle was in their possession twice! Don't waste your time contacting their training manager, Paul Gay. He's mentioned on the store sign that he appreciates comments or compliments, but he doesn't even respond to email messages! Clearly, their "trainer" needs training in customer service! I see why the manager's customer service is lacking. If you want the services you pay for, DON'T take your car to Midas on Mayfield. Ken immediately looked at my issue, gave me future recommendations, but did what he could at the shop to get me safely back on the road within about 20 minutes. My son dropped my car off and ordered new tires. He received a call from the manager later that day telling him that new tires weren't necessary, that the tires were fine. Everything you go to Midas, they find things that you need repair on even when you never needed it before. Every item they mention I refuse for them to repair. When I then take it to the dealer or my friends who own a garage, they tell me nothing is wrong and that they are just trying to rip you off. Midas, Mayfield Heights, OH I have been taking my car there for oil changes all of 2023 I get full synthetic oil and pay $65.00 each time. This is supposed to include a visual inspection (brakes and tire rotation) I took my car in Sept 2023 they said my brakes were fine. Took it in again Dec 26th 2023 and they mentioned nothing about the brakes. I went to Midas Jan 2nd my right rear tire had been making a scraping noise. I asked about it because before the Dec 26th oil change the car was not making that noise. I asked if they did a brake inspection or the tire rotation. Ken could not give me a real answer. I do recall being refused the oil change because my Kia has an excessive oil burning issue and they supposedly did not want to be blamed for that. I've had the oil burning issue since 2022 and they knew about all the previous times they had been doing my oil changes 2023.It has never been an issue as I was also aware of it and have been maintaining it. I convinced Matt to do the oil change but there was also a mention of a coolant leak problem noted on the receipt. Jan 2nd when I asked about the tire rotation he said they only do it if it is necessary. What the hell does that mean? I asked about the brake inspection and asked if he would just listen to the sound that it made he didn't really want to help but looks like he felt pressured. I was very polite and respectful he came outside and looked for like what felt 20 seconds said the wheel looked rusted and if I wanted brakes looked at I would have to pay a fee of 24.99. Side note how did they not see there was an issue if they actually did a visual inspection of the brakes on Dec 26th??? I made an appointment for the very next day because that was what was available. I came in Jan 3rd at 11am & spoke to Matt who has always been NICE. Ken also usually nice a was not there that day. Matt said Ken called him & asked him to check the camera's. Matt admitted that they never rotated the tires. I said the paperwork/receipt showed that they did and that is what prompted me to ask about the scraping noise and that is why I was there. He took my car in the garage and lifted it and pulled off both rear tires. He said that my brakes were leaking bad and the caliper was basically not working rear left side was wet and had brake fluid everywhere and the right side was bone dry. So dry that it started to lock up. It was completely rusted caliper destroyed and brake pads were completely down to the metal. He showed the rear rotors and leaking brake fluid. I took pictures. Matt said it would cost $1500 to fix the problem. I have a print out he gave for it to be fixed right then and there. I told him no I don't have the money at the moment and I would need to speak to my dad. I find it interesting that he did not charge me the 24.99 for the brake inspection because I think he knew they screwed up by not checking my brakes at the time of the Dec 26th oil change. Matt even said he would go down on the price of the $1500 repair. I said no I don't have it. I just think it is crazy how when I took my car there on Jan 3rd within the hour it just got worse and became undrivable. He told me I couldn't drive it far because the brake would completely lock. I don't live far so I was able to drive home up the street. I parked it and I called my Mechanic. I had made arrangements to have the car towed Jan 5th I had to pay $75 dollars for a tow bed. I paid 451.00 to replace the both rear rotors, calipers and brake pads. Plus $54.00 for a used tire because the dried up side on the right rear wheel dragged and destroyed the tire. All this could have been prevented. I would have been able to get this resolved sooner if they checked my brakes or rotated the tires on Dec 26th. Matt said oh they probably just did a pump and dump.... What the hell is a pump and dump???? Why did they not inspect my brakes???? My mechanic showed me the brakes it was completely metal, he also said there is no coolant leak. My mechanic said if there was a coolant leak my car would not provide heat and my car would have over heated. Not once since I've bought this car in 2017 has this car ever overheated. Midas in Mayfield Heights was completely negligent. I trusted them to help me maintain my vehicle and all they did was put me in a very dangerous situation. Since Dec 26th I had been driving my car thinking it was ok the entire time until that weird scraping noise. When I showed up on Jan 2nd Ken was less than interested in helping me. I took my car to them because I thought they were going to be fair, helpful and actually cared about their customers. I will never take my car to them again & seriously considering filing a claim against Matt and Ken and Midas. Before I left a new employee tried to trick me into giving them a 5 star review he said say something nice about Matt. I quickly unmarked the 5 stars he touched on my phone. The guys are nice but it My SAFETY is IMPORTANT!!!! read more

Guess what folks, 2mths later after the second rear strut replacement and what a surprise, the rear struts Midas are failing again. My car bounces like a yo-yo and lo' and behold neither the area manager nor the local district manager have responded d to my phone call or emails. I guess it's finally time for small claims court. My recommendation, NEVER take your vehicle to a Midas service center, especially this one, as I'm even getting the complete blowoff from the managers on duty who seem to think I'm nothing but a complainer and a pain in their ass. Well, if the work had been done properly the first time and someone had taken the time to take care of the matter promptly, I wouldn't be this way! OK, I'm a believer. I went in with a rattling noise in the back end of my car. They told me I needed new struts. Approved and installed. Same noise. I was told to wait a week until the bushings settled in. Same noise. I returned to the location VERY AGGRAVATED, since I had just spent over $1,000, and the problem wasn't fixed. Tony, the manager, met me and let me know they'd fix the problem. For free. I was very skeptical, but gave the car back to them a week later, and they found the problem, ordered new, different parts (at their cost), replaced the new parts (at their cost), and replace several other parts (axle, speed sensor, etc). Rotated/balance my tires, and changed the oil. Total additional charge - FREE. AWESOME!!!! Thanks to Tony, Ken, and the mechanic whose name I forgot. read more

I've lived in Cleveland 6 weeks and I've been here twice. Once for new breaks and once for an oil change. The guys are great over here. They work fast and are thorough. I was also hearing something when I brought my car in for my oil changed, and they took the time to drive my car around the block and explain what was going on. I have used this location for years and take 4 cars there. My bills have been in the thousands because, quite frankly, this place is very expensive. This has never bothered me because they are convient and always able to work me in without appointment and they are always pretty nice - especially Ken. Matt can be a little gruff at times.. I deal mostly with Ken and Matt. I had a large repair completed last month. When I picked up the car the check engine light was on; it was not on when I took it in. I took the car back - they did not check anything but the check engine light was off. Took it back home check engine light was on. I suspected something got bumped during the repair. I finally asked my daughter to drop it off again and Matt was very, very rude to her. So rude she called me upset and asked me never to use this place again. I called Matt and he was argumentative and unkind (funny his tone was much nicer on my last visit when he told my my repair would cost $3500). Anyway I no longer feel the same about this place. I am no longer willing to ignore their high prices and I would certainly never use them again and would not recommend them to you. I will ammend this review when I find out why the light is on and Midas better pray it was not because of something they did when they had it because I will not let this go. read more

Worst experience ever! These people are professional scammers. Took my truck over there for a check engine light, got diagnosed with leaking manifold gasket. I got it fixed for $950 and guess what happened, 100 miles down and the same check engine light turned on with the same code. I went back to confront the manager and he claimed that he told me that it might not work. Not very professional! Why sell me something that might not work from the beginning. After 20 minutes of arguing I gave up and took my car to a different shop. Save yourself a headache, time and money!!! read more

I am not typically the one to write reviews, but I was so impressed with my experience here that I felt the need to share. I moved from out of state last week and the clutch in my 5-speed promptly wore out on me. My father has been my mechanic since I began driving, and we have a trusted shop back in Massachusetts that we use for any requirements that he can't complete from our driveway. Upon moving out here, 600 miles from home, I was nervous to enter a repair shop as a young woman and have my car both diagnosed and repaired, having heard horror stories from my father of dishonest shop owners. After a poor experience with Conrad's, I called other mechanics in the area, Midas being the first. Anthony, the manager, diagnosed my vehicle within 30 minutes of my call and planned for a full clutch replacement. I mentioned I needed an oil change and he threw it in for free. Overall, an incredibly trustworthy shop, and the new clutch is perfect. I have found my new auto repair shop!! read more

These guys are amazing! They go above and beyond everytime we are there. I often wait for the work on my car to be done with my 2 kids (under 5) and they are beyond accommodating. They encourage my kids, encourage me, turn on cartoons, help me load up my car, let us take over their waiting room, and so much more. I went in yesterday to have my pads and rotors I believe; replaced. I was in and out pretty quickly. The one thing I will say is that beware of what they put on your car I was given ceramic pads with no other recommendations. There was no mention of putting on the most expensive pads, just that is what you need and no price (as far as for the breakdown of parts), until after it was paid for then I saw what was on the receipt. So, if you don't know crap about asking all those questions, and asking for options... just be aware. read more

Prices are reasonable and they've only come to me a couple of times when they've found issues that really needed fixing. I have used a few different Midas locations to perform my oil changes, which are monthly due to how my I drive. I've left other Midas locations due to poor customer service or waiting too long when I have an appointment. The Manager at this location is dedicated, on top of things and cares about my experience - he's not a sleazy salesman like many are at auto repair places.
