Ended up paying 370 for a wheel alignment due to misleading estimate and fees. I will never bring my vehicles or recommend going to a Midas shop again as the experience tainted my perception of the business name and reputation. For more details read further. Customer service and scheduling: I dropped off my vehicle on time for an appointment. I came back 80 minutes later and the car is still in the same parking spot. I get that a shop can run behind or delays occur. But no follow up or call or update. Once they see me show up they claim it will go on the next available rack. Not a good start. Misleading quote: I'm quoted another 99.75 for adjusting the camber, but was not told it was for each side. Had I known I'd be spending another 200 on top of the initial alignment cost (139.99) I'd have canceled the work to get a 2nd opinion. When I brought up the misleading cost when paying, they countered they showed the estimate with the total. However, the labor was for 1 side on quantity, not 2 on the first statement. Incomplete steps with scanner: With the alignment off, a steering angle sensor code generated, along with ABS/Brake lights, one of original reasons for bringing in. I asked if they cleared the code which they said they did but the lights were still on. I asked if they could scan it to see if the same steering angle sensor code re-appeared. The mechanic scanned in the lot, but refused to me to tell me the code since he said he personally paid 10,000 for his Snap-ON Zeuss scanner. I'm not sure why he couldn't share the code since I just paid 370 for the work done. He did clear it and hasn't came back on yet. I suspect they didn't scan/clear it in the first place. read more

They tried to sell us $2500 worth of bogus repairs. An honest shop just a few blocks away repaired the car for $140. By the way, the $2500 they quoted us would not have even covered the real problem with the car it was all a scam. When I posted my original review, I was threatened with a lawsuit, which is illegal in itself. Look carefully at their reviews and you will see a very consistent pattern of people making the same complaints. Then you have to wonder how many of the five star reviews are from people who were cheated, but never knew it. If you absolutely have your heart set on going there at the very least get a second opinion. These are not good people. They have no conscience. They know you need your car to get to work and they take full advantage of the situation. They will rob you of the money you need to support your family. They will offer you financing at loan shark interest rates. In many ways, they are running the perfect con game. Went to midas to get a oil change and tire rotation, they recommended rear pads and rotors, had the pads and rotors fixed a few days later was driving front driver wheel starts shaking violently quickly pulled over at a friend's we could with our fingers loose 3 out of the 4 lug nuts the 5th lug was missing and wheel stud broke off. Called midas they apologized said bring in Monday amd they would fix it, get a call Monday of them totally deny responsibility which is clearly was there fault all I wanted is a quick fix of the stud and lug they wouldn't honor that, I could have been seriously injured if my wheel flew off it should be a 30min to hour fix the part cost 10$ they obviously don't give a shit about customer safety go somewhere else please horrible place and the way they talked to me like I'm gonna liar read more

I don't normally write bad reviews (if you read other reviews I have written they are all positive) but I do need to share my terrible experience here. My wife got new tires installed, and they provided a Courtesy Inspection that outlined a lot of reported problems with her car and told her "if you don't get this all fixed soon, you will end up on the side of the road". So my wife who is not extremely car savvy was very worried. I ended up ordering and replacing the rear brakes which were measured at 1mm and the rotors which were deemed "under minimum spec". After replacing them, I measured the old brakes and they had 6mm on them (which is about 50% life still) and the rotors were 11.2 mm thick (12mm new) and the spec is 10.4 mm so these also had 50% life left. I am extremely disappointed that Midas would scare my wife into needing services that her car did not need. I will not be returning to this store since either their technicians do not know how to measure things properly, or they do and they lie about the values. I am not sure which is worse, but both are very concerning hence why I will avoid this store in the future. read more

I stayed for scheduled oil change and even after I PAID for that, manager continued to badger me insisting I listen to him about what happened to the tires. This is a review I'm writing today from a experience about 3 years ago back when my mom used to have a 2002 Honda Passport. She needed to get new brake rotors and pads. I did not know much about cars at the time and since my mom doesn't know anything about cars either they tried to charge over $2500 for the service. I went home the same night and after researching on google I called and told the f*****s to cancel the service and towed it to my personal mechanic who said everything should have been around a 1200-1300 dollar job. I would stay away from Midas in general but this location for sure. This place should get shut down its a disgrace to the automotive repair industry. horrible service! took my vehicle in for a service check. of multiple check lights on. stated one problem didn't exist at all. even though they say they checked it, got home and that problem still exists!! they called me and stated the vehicle was ready for pick up. I left work early to go pick it up, started vehicle uo and every light that was on when I took it there was still on! I went back in and they told me oh it was off yesterday. we'll check it again.. FOR MORE MONEY!! finally after the 3rd time and got home, checked out the vehicle and there was greasy oily shoe prints all over my bumper of my vehicle, they scratched the shit out of it! and oh let's not forget about the FREE loaner you can use, which had check engine lights on, parts we're hanging off the vehicle under it. the loaner vehicle smells of terrible marijuana, the radio didn't work.. These people are total scammers. I went in for a routine Uber inspection on my 1 year old car and they said that I needed $800 in repairs. I knew that the car was fine because I had my mechanic do the entire inspection a day before I took the car in to this Midas and he said everything was fine. I took my car in to get my brakes inspected Midas said I needed front and back brakes the price they quoted me seems a little high so I took it for a second opinion at a different shop They said I didn't need front or back brakes I had 70 & 80% left on my pads And that my back brakes just need a cleaning after they clean them I heard no more squeaky I would not recommend Midas on County Road D in white bear. read more

Went here for a balance on my tires well left the shop thinking it was done correctly was not wheels were shaking so bad I couldn't even drive back to the shop I have a 5 yr old son who luckily wasn't even in the car with me and not to mention they did tell me it would be about 45 dollars for all four tires fine but then when it was time to pay I asked if I could pay 40 in cash and out the rest on my card they said yes come to find out he took my cash and charged the full amount of 47.92 to my card!!!! I am not one to complain in most circumstances but I wanted to make sure no other customer gets taken advantage of at this Midas location. I went in for an oil change and after their inspection they do with oil changes, they told me I needed extra repairs costing $650 and it was a "safety issue" that could not be put off. I let them know I was trading my car in very soon and wanted to avoid unnecessary repairs. They informed me that I would lose double that amount at trade in at a dealership if I didn't get it fixed beforehand. I felt uneasy about the whole situation and took my car to a different shop that did my breaks 2 weeks prior. They inspected my car and very confidently told me absolutely NOTHING was wrong with my car including the part that was so "urgent" to get fixed and a "safety concern". Both the mechanic and the manager at this other shop were appalled that I was told this needed repair and that I was taken advantage of being a woman not knowing better. There is the chance that Midas did not have bad intentions and that they truly did believe the repairs were necessary, but in that case, they have a mechanic who is not entirely knowledgeable. Either way, if you go to this shop, it is worth getting a 2nd opinion on any recommended repairs. read more
