Ridiculously awful place. Employee crashed into my car while backing up when I was PARKED in their parking lot, about to get my low tire pressure light checked. Midas refused to fix the damage. Can't imagine what they could do to customers cars behind scenes when they could not be responsible for their mistake under the sun. read more

I will never return to a Midas due to the manager Tony at this location. I returned to Midas after I had my brakes and rotors done all the way around because the rear was grinding. Midas paid to replace the work due to their previous mechanic that worked there messing them up. A few months later the front rotors and brakes started doing the same thing (all under a year of initial work) When asking a simple question about how I already needed new rotars and brake pads in the front, Tony asked me why I was looking at him like he was dumb and became very hostile. He was very rude due to the fact that the time before Midas had replaced everything that was messed up and things that got messed up due to the bad mechanic work (not while Tony was manager). He kept saying I don't know why we replaced all this last time for free! Making me feel bad that Midas took responsibility when I brought my car in for a brake check, which he knew NOTHING about because he was not even at this location. Called me a liar about how long my car had been making the noise. During the visit I paid for the service I received. I was called 30 minutes after leaving by a regional manager I believe, that they would be refunding me because it was all still under warranty! A few hours later I called and politely asked for a new invoice and was told to "Do not return" by the manger Tony. What kind of manager acts like a child to their customers? So pretty much due to the fact that Tony was upset that I had questions and the previous mechanic had messed things up and Midas paid for the mistakes I was treated like I was a piece of shit by Tony. And I got charged $369 when it was all under warranty. I hope he doesn't try to scam anyone else out of money because he's having a bad day, or for no reason has an issue with them. read more

I went in to figure out what was rattling under my hood. There are signs up everywhere that mention a courtesy inspection so I was under the impression that it wouldn't cost anything for them to check it out. No one mentioned anything about cost. At the end of the inspection, they told me it would be $125 for labor, $10 shop fee and taxes. read more

Took one of our high mileage spare vehicles to this location for an oil change and tire rotation last week. The lady I spoke with was kind and accommodating to our schedule. I received a call from the shop saying the oil had been changed but they recommended replacing brake pads, the battery (he stated that it was essentially completely dead), and a headlight which was out. I expect to be upsold when taking my car for service, so I thanked the man for his recommendations and declined, based on the quoted price and that all 3 were things we could do from home. After picking my vehicle up, I was disappointed to find that they had not rotated my tires, based on the markings I made before taking it in for service to identify this exact issue. I specifically asked the man, Jason, on the phone if my tires had been rotated. His reply was "Yes, they're good to go" We also had an issue with the battery the next day. The car went completely dead and wouldn't hold a charge. At first, I was ready to replace the battery and assumed his diagnosis was correct. After a quick (literally 30 second) inspection under the hood, I noticed that the battery cable was almost completed frayed off and disconnected from the vehicle. I went to O' Reilly and picked up a $9 replacement cable and had it fixed and running 30 minutes after discovering the issue. Had I listened to the mechanics recommendation, I would have unnecessarily have purchased a new battery. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because Ann was very helpful and made it easy for me to schedule drop off and pick up of the vehicle. I believe in allowing mistakes to be corrected, but did not contact the shop about the tire rotation simply because they flat out lied and omitted a service I paid for. Dishonesty isn't worthy of a second chance. If the mechanic took the time to complete the service I requested, (and maybe 30 seconds longer checking out the battery) instead of trying to upsell a bunch of services, this would've been a very different experience. I imagine this happens often, so I post this review so other customers may be more cautious. Maybe the poor service was because I utilized a Groupon (they seemed annoyed about that along with my declining additional services), but regardless, there is no excuse for poor service or dishonesty. read more

I will NOT recommend midis they will lie to you on the phone and jack up the price when they are done I made an appointment and they quoted the cost at $74 after they finished it ended up costing me more than $110 and that was after the $10 coupon I found on-line So yes that would be more than $45 more than they quoted!! They also mixed up my appointment time causing me to have to wait an additional almost 2 hours! do yourself a favor go to jiffy lube at least they are honest about their prices read more

*Covid safety concerns* They seem friendly but of the 4-5 people in the small waiting area, neither staff nor customers were wearing masks (our county has been under a mandate that expires next month). Scheduled an appointment in which I could bring my car in anytime between 3:30 and 5:30. Arrived at 5:20 and was told they were closing in 30 mins and that I'd have to reschedule. I'm working full-time, raising three active teenagers on my own while my husband is deployed overseas. My husband usually changes the oil, but while he's away I need help with these things. I made the appointment on the only day of week that I could get my car serviced during the business hours offered. My first time trying them - a brand new, could've been loyal customer for the next year... but I got turned away despite showing up within the appointment window. And I might add, I had to drive 30 mins into town to this appointment. Mad, yes! Will I I ever try them again, no! read more

Best experience ever!!!!! I had some concerns about my breaks and my dad had asked me to take my car in to get it check on (2011 Honda Accord). I'll be honest, I know very little about cars and whenever I take my car into a mechanics, I have always been taken advantage of. Andrew and his team were fantastic!! They looked at my car and found nothing wrong with it. They were even kind enough to show me how the breaks work and what I should look for next time to determine if there is a problem or not. After an hour of working on my car, I left without being charged anything! I highly recommend Midas on Iowa to anyone that needs work done on their car. I dont truet most mechanics, but i trust these guys. They work to get you the best price and make sure you know whats wrong with the car and how urgent the issue is. Unlike other mechanics they show you the issue this way you know they arent making it up. Started coming to these guys because they offered me the best price on a expensive fix and ever since they have treated me well. read more

Nicest people. I went in for an oil change and they explained the different oil types and why one would be better than the other. They really know their stuff! And it helps the waiting room is comfy :) I would definitely recommend to a friend and I'll definitely be back!!! read more

I've been taking my trucks/cars to Midas for 8 years and had always been happy with the service that they provided. Recently, the place has taken a real turn for the worse. I get the premium level oil changes that includes tire rotation and this last time, I went to pick up my truck asked if they did the tire rotation and their new manager guy(who is sketchy as all get out) said, "uh...thought you just wanted an oil change". He hands me my receipt and it clearly reads that the oil change includes tire rotation and fluids top off. Neither of those had been done. I really used to be happy with the place, but there's something not right with the new guy in charge there. I don't trust him at all. I'm going someplace else next time. read more

I was new in town and needed a trusty mechanic.. I commute 250+ miles a week and need my vehicle to be reliable.. I came in because Midas was close to my house, but now I will not take my vehicle anywhere else.. Loni, the managing owner, not only has the knowledge of a seasoned vet twice his age but his customer care and attention to detail is top shelf. I use Loni and his team for small services all the way up to big repairs like brakes and other parts I have no idea what they really are.. He explains how everything works and is honest with his recommendations. He doesn't sell me service just to make money and I feel blessed to have someone care for my vehicle almost as much as I do. I have gone to several auto mechanics in town but continually find myself back at Midas. Several times they have undercut competitors prices. Further, I have always felt I have been treated fairly and not taken advantage of or pressed for repairs that were unnecessary. I am not certain if this reflects Midas as a whole but the one in Lawrence is a class act as far as I am concerned. read more

I used to be a long time customer -3 years- of this particular Midas. But no more. The last two visits - in the same month- have been terrible. 1. I was treated as a transaction, not a loyal customer with three years of history. 2. Their computers didn't have me in the systems! Three years! I've been there three years! 3. They ignored me the entire time I was in the shop. A "hello" to begin with and then I didn't exist. 4. They ignored and played off my concerns as if they were nothing. If I ask an auto mechanic to take a look at something because it is a concern for me I expect them to address it! 5. Doing something to my vehicle without my consent. 6. The management has changed. With that in mind, the management and the mechanics are not the same. The prior management and mechanics were friendly and explained things to me in a way I can understand. Midas is suppose to be the car expert, I am paying for their expertise. Barring that, I want the expert to tell me what is going on. How my car works, what its doing, and how different products affect my property. 7. Time management. This second time I went they took 5 hours to do an oil change and change my break pads. No apologies and no discount for wasting my time. Their attitude was haughty and snobbish, as if they were GODS providing the little consumer a benevolent service. I will now drive the 45 minutes to Burnett Goodyear in Overland Park to be given quality service. I am never going back to this Midas. read more

Well, I would tell you how their service was if I had even received any.... I scheduled an appointment online (on Sunday). I received an email confirming that it was sent and that I would get a PHONE CALL confirming my appointment within one business hour. Well, I know their closed on Sunday so I figured I would get a phone call some time Monday morning. No phone call, so I assumed I was in the clear, right? WRONG. I walk in for my 11:30 am appointment and the guy at the desk barely looks me in the eye. He asks for my information, I give it. He tells me, "I sent you an email saying that it wouldn't work today...." and stares at me as if it is my fault and I'm the rude one. I reschedule my appointment anyway, fuming. It was imperative that I get my car checked out ASAP. I check my email constantly, I know I would've seen it. I checked my email before I went in and after I left. I didn't receive one. I also believe that if they're going to advertise that you will get a PHONE CALL to confirm an appointment, then they should indeed CALL you and not try to email you. For this reason, I will not be going to this Midas ever... Luckily they did me a favor and in turning me down, I found a much better place that wasn't rude and got me in without an appointment. Maybe Midas' actual car service is great, I wouldn't know. But their customer service is terrible. read more

Do not go to Midas, they put cheap tires on my car from a different dealer and charged me a higher price. When confronted, they consistently lied and gave me the run around. Have posted this before, but they will remove any negative comments about the store. Would never do business with them again. read more
