This place has a F Rating by the Better Business Bureau I'm 62 years old went in for an oil change can home I have oil leaking out of my car Daniel the so called manager told me to bring it back up. While looking under the hood I noticed they did not even change my oil filter the old one was still on my car. I took a picture of it . When I returned to Midas I asked the guy at the counter can I see one of your oil filters he said they were Napa brand well that was not the one in my car I still had my old filter they did not rotate the tires because I marked the tires . I have been dealing with corporate Midas going on 2 weeks now trying to get my money back and my car fixed. Please stay away from this place they just take your money and they don't do the job. Do not use this shop. You have been warned. I dropped my vehicle off for Brake and Rotor change and it turned into them keeping my vehicle for over 3 weeks and $5,000 later. It felt like I was being scammed for additional work. When Midas was changing my brakes, they told me they broke a nut off the axel. Not to worry, they would order a new axel and replace it. That took a week to get the part and fix it. When I got the vehicle back the front left wheel was making a grinding noise it never had before. Brought it back was told it was the bearing which was fine when I brought it in. Changed the bearing, didn't fix the noise. Was told it is definitely the transfer case and it would have to be changed. Another 2 weeks to get that fixed. got the vehicle back and it was still making the noise. I told them NO MORE! ending up charging me $5000 and fixing a bunch of stuff that didn't need changing. I had to take it to Mavis because my gas mileage dropped significantly. They found the left caliper from the new brakes Midas had just install was stuck. Ended up paying Mavis to bleed the line and put new calipers on. Another $500. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! read more

A muffler that should have been a two hour job took seven hours amd the tail pipe fell off in 3 days. They used a MIG welder without shielding gas. It's hard to believe a professional could weld so poorly unless intentional. They had to put muffler putty inbetween the globs of welds to fill the holes. A person that is blind could weld better. Take your car to Rick's Muffler in St. Augustine for a quality job. read more

Update: I brought it in the next day and they got it fixed. It wasn't completely their fault, kind of due to a hardware issue as well! But it was still upsetting and I hope it didn't damage my car. also ruined the morning because I had to go to OReilly to get some temporary oil to drive my car there so they could fix it. So I got an oil change done with Midas this morning. On my way to work later, my car shut off and my engine lights came on. My boyfriend and I checked the oil later and there was NONE in there. Ok I'm just going to brag a little bit about this place I've never enjoyed getting my car done and this Midas has the nicest people who work there and they saved me $900 on tires when BMW tried to rip me off HARD. They are always trying to get to make it as low cost as possible and I'm so thankful I found them on Groupon like 2 years ago. Do not by any means go to this Midas. The service is incredibly bad. I took my car there to replace the sensors and catalytic converter. They said they completed the work only to have my check engine light come on a week later. We were then informed that they failed to replace the sensors. Again we were told they completed the work. And again a week later my check engine light was on. They indicated that BOTH converted they put in my car were bad. They said they replaced them and fixed my car. Again a week later the check engine light comes on. Now we apparently have a bad sensor. They said they fixed it. And now after a week my check engine light is on AGAIN. This will be the FIFTH TIME I have taken my car to their shop. Each time there is a discovery that they did not complete the job they said they would do. On top of it they have no consideration for their customers and do not offer any thing other than to try and fix their mistake AGAIN. read more

I brought my hyundai genesis coupe to midas on sunbeam rd in jax fl 8 momths ago. Ac was only working on one side of my vehicle. They told me i needed to do a leak test when i told them i thought its a compressor. They came back from the 300$ test and said its a compressor and that it will cost me 1350 on top of the 300 to do it and they wont take it off. So i paid it.... fast forward 5 months and the EXACT same thing happen again. They "charged it up" and gave it back. Then a month later again... they said it was a leak in the hose and they re did the fasteners on it. Last week it happen again... they had my car for the last 5 days and then tell me its another 650$ fix... im not convinced i needed a compressor to begin with now. When i went into the store today to get my car another customer was having the exact same problem. We both decided that they are scamming us and left. They lied about what i needed to begin with and then tried upcharging me on more services. I refuse to pay the rest of the loan they gave me on a card and i refuse to allow this to happen to me. Immediate action needs to be taken place against this business. The other customer asked for the part from his repair job and the desk guy responded by saying they threw it away and no longer have it... which is illegal to not return the old prt if requested by a customer. I took our Accord to Honda of the Avenues for a tire patch because it had a screw in the tread. Their service representative and mechanic told me they won't do it but will sell me a new tire instead, which would be considerably more expensive. Their service department felt greedy and cannot be trusted. My husband looked for a local tire service business and found a Midas close to our house. They were happy to patch our tire and took care of me right away. As I was waiting, I spoke with a delightful young woman. She had used their services before and trusted them, which was great to hear. Midas was quick to complete the service. The two employees I worked with were gentlemen and very professional. I highly recommend the Midas on Sunbeam Rd for honest and affordable automotive service. We will be returning there for additional services, new tires in the future, etc. read more

Midas installed new spark plugs. After about 200 miles, something came loose, a cylinder started misfiring, and I was afraid something was seriously wrong. It cost me $200 for an outside mechanic to find out that whoever had installed the plugs hadn't tightened them. I ONLY take my cars here for so many years and so many cars! They've ALWAYS been fair in prices, timely in getting my repairs or oil changes done, if they don't have the tire I need they will get it, quickly and at a very reasonable price. The managers (Tony I think is who used to be there name) have always been very respectful, responsive and helpful. I like to learn about things I pay to repair and they are always willing to share their knowledge with me. I've never had any issues with them in maybe over 10-12 years. I had a flat and asked my brother to take it to Midas on Sunbeam Rd, BUT instead he took it somewhere else... and they ended up breaking the tires air gauge, which I had to take it back though they fixed it, they acted like they were doing me a favor fixing their own mistake! Incompetent? Lazy? Both? How do you charge a customer for services that don't appear on the receipt? What kind of answer is "we have a record of it" but we don't think you need to have it in writing? How difficult was it to reset the "oil change needed" light on the dashboard? How much trouble is it to put a new oil change sticker on the upper left windshield as a reminder to return? Why use another business' sticker when I remind you? Clearly, the workers don't give a damn about thier work or employer so I no longer give a damn about spending any money there. my wife went there for oil change for her 2015 outback on 4/2/2024, we found out today there was no oil in the engine. light came on while driving to a clients house and she checked the dip stick and bone dry. called the location to see what could be done, and they tried to say it must have leaked out or burned up. well if it's a leak then where is the oil on driveway? or burned up, we would notice the smoking. now we have to go get oil and add it ourselves so she can get home until she can get the Engine checked out for further damage. read more

Steer clear of Midas on Sunbeam. I went in for an oil change and left with a major oil leak. If the leak hadn't been caught, I could have had a blown engine. They cross threaded the drain plug. The worst part is, they still haven't refunded me for the "full synthetic oil change". I've talked to 3 different people who are rude and give the run around. This place is a scam, I felt it from the moment I walked into that store. I will for sure go right my gut next home. DO NOT go there for anything. My next step is filing a complaint with the BBB. I wound up having to go to the dealership to get my oil changed, so now I'm out a total of $140!!! read more

Wow, I'm shocked to read the poor reviews! I searched for this company on yelp because of how great my experience was yesterday. I had lost traction in the rain and got freaked out, ran to the nearest tire kingdom (my front two tires were awful!) only to be told that two tires of the same quality that I had on plus the alignment and everything was $571. I called Midas for a second quote. They had two tires that were even better quality but they didn't up charge for all the services by a ton so I got out the door for $330!! They were EXTREMELY nice and respectful and they were patient with me when I was trying to understand certain things about the car (I'm not a car person, so I'm sure I sounded pretty dumb). The guy helping was Alan (or Allen?) and I didn't catch the technicians name, but both were VERY customer-oriented and did a fantastic job getting me back SAFELY on the road without having to pay them insane amounts of money!! Thanks guys! I hope people give this store a chance because they truly are friendly. My husband went there the other day for the first time as well and said great things about them, too!! read more

Had to bring car back for a second time because brakes were STILL squeaking. I got there and the manager basically told me that I need to bring it my car in again if it started squeaking again and he pressured me into upgrading. I drove out of the parking lot and they started squeaking. Why would you as a company let me still have squeaky brakes when I have a lifetime warranty and have been here twice for the same problem? I took my car 3 months ago due to my AC blowing hot air. They put more freeon and a die told me to go back in the next day and they will be able to see if it has a leak or not, So i did they put my car in walked around smoke talke and i was watching everything, so i came out and they got in my car and i was thinking they were getting things done. The manager Tony comes and tells me that there is no leak that everything should be fine. 172.00 i paid. He told me if it happens again it is a part that needs to be change on the dash board and it will cost 1500.00... So 3 month later AC os blowing hot air i was out of town. Took my car to midas at Merritt island Fl and i explain and show the paper works of the work done in jax. He told me it was to early for me to take the car back in a day to see if there was a leak on the AC. He took a look and was able to see the leak and fix my part it was nothing that the jax midas had told me there is no leak at the dashboard ..
