I've been coming here for years, but my last three visits have been extremely disappointing. On one visit, a mechanic stripped the drain bolt on my oil pan, which resulted in me having to get the oil pan replaced elsewhere. Every time I come in for a simple oil change, I'm pressured to purchase a long list of additional services that aren't necessary. The last oil change they didn't even change the oil filter, and the oil itself didn't appear to be new. The new staff behind the counter are also unprofessional and disorganized. I called ahead to schedule an appointment, but when I arrived, they tried to reschedule me for another day instead of honoring the appointment I had already made. After years of being a customer, this was the final straw. The service quality has gone downhill, and my recent experiences have been a complete waste of time. Manager now says he would never have done this if it was his car. Says I need a new engine. Total fraud. Fraud complaint has been filed. They always do great with fixing my 2004 Jeep Liberty. Always explain what's needed. And quick. I have been bringing my Jeep there for 9 years and I've always been happy with the service. They were busier than usually to me today. I asked if there were any discounts but didn't get anything. Got home and realized there actually was a $10 off $100/ $20 off $200 discount that could have been applied. That is my only complaint. read more

Not all auto repair businesses are looking to screw over consumers. This particular Midas is very honest and reasonable in their pricing. I've been to this one a number of times for minor repairs and services. It's easy to get an appointment. The location is convenient for me and they always do a good job. If I don't really need something fixed, they let me know that too. The folks who work there are friendly and personable. The lead technician, Don Erwin is particularly good at his job. I'm new in town and my go to mechanic in North Brunswick has closed up as a result of Covid! I needed someone who would give me an honest answer and not tell me, I need something that I didn't need. They are very honest and very competitive in price. The did a great job changing my oil and doing a complete brake job too! Being a realtor, I use my car more than others and need to make sure my car was in the best condition it could be in. I wish I could leave zero stars. When they put my car up on the lift for new tires they did not use the lift points and now the seams are separated on my Solstice. My front panels are all out of wack and they didn't even have the decency to tell me! Screwed over my sister with rotors that were greased and cost her several hundred dollars to have the work redone. DONT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! read more

Took my 2010 Kia here for a routine oil change. They did the oil change well and I have no issue there. The issue arose with the lousy customer service. The main area of the staff that was working in the car were great. They were friendly, willing to explain what they were doing and why certain services may be needed. The gentleman that was working the front desk was quite the opposite. I think he felt I should just take his word for whatever he is telling me is wrong with my car and dish out the money. I may have gotten an additional service done if he weren't so stand offish. I'd still use them for a simple and affordable oil change though. Paid $24 for my oil change. read more

I am honestly surprised with this Midas. Went over and beyond what I was expecting. Me and my boyfriend were on a road trip from Manassas, VA to Nashua, NH for a wedding. We were on the highway when all the sudden my car started shaking really bad and my check engine light was flashing. I DEFINITELY didn't feel comfortable even finishing the rest of the 5 hours on the road without getting it looked at. I normally go to a local Midas in my hometown that quite honestly treats everyone like garbage so I wasn't expecting much when walking into this one but they changed that so much as soon as I walked in and started talking to the guy at the desk. I didn't quite catch his name at all while being there but he treated me way better than any place ever has going in as a female. They had my car in the garage looking at it within MINUTES. Don was super nice and has a great personality when around cars. You can definitely tell that he loved his job. Don had found the problem within 30 minutes. When I go ANYWHERE else in my hometown in VA it takes them HOURS to figure out the issue but not at this one. They even gave me options on what I wanted to do. I ended up needing all new spark plugs and three new coils. The guy at the front desk recommended me to change all six of my coils because of the simple fact of my car being 15 years old and he said he wanted me to be safer than sorry later on down the road. He even printed out both sheets to show me the price difference between changing only the three or changing all six and I've never had someone do that for me before. We were out of there within the next hour after telling them what I wanted to do. We got back on the road after paying and they wished us luck on our road trip. This service was BEYOND helpful and fast. I'm so happy that is didn't interfere with my trip at all and they tried their best to get me in and out of there really fast since I was in a town I had never been in before. I 100% recommend this Midas to locals and to anyone having trouble while traveling. This was days ago and my car hasn't had another problem since. (Also they do first responders discounts and that saved me a lot since it was being put on credit). Thank you! read more

On December 14th I went in for a routine oil change, since my vehicle was so low on oil they checked for any leaks and I was told my vehicle didn't have any. After my visit there later that evening I noticed they damaged my headlight,nbd I can replace on my own. However 2 weeks later I noticed almost all the oil leaked out of my car so I asked to bring it in to see if something was not screwed on. They informed me my oil cap needed to be replaced and I needed a new transmission cooler and possible new axles because of the leakage costing me over $700. I informed them I wouldn't be paying for any of those replacements seeing as all of the damages were done by a negligent employee during my oil change. In which they only responded that I simply just pick my car up and not come back. So I had to have the damages repaired by another shop and now will be suing them for damages they caused to my vehicle. If they couldn't even handle a simple oil change, I definitely wouldn't trust them with my brakes or tires. 0/10 would recommend. read more

Review for 2 separate car tire issues. Caught a pot hole on my new Lexus 1 weeks after owning it (can you believe it!) While it didn't blow, overnight the tire developed a bubble that started to rip. I knew it wouldn't make it back to the dealership, so I took it to the closest tire place. I limped my way to Midas and got there as they opened for the day. The employee that I worked with was very pleasant, for first customer of the day in. I knew this wasn't a patch job, so after a quick confirmation I'd need a new tire - they got me in and out of there within an hour and with smiles on their faces. I actually made it to work by 9am! I was happy. They gave my car the Midas touch! Recently had to return for my boyfriends car, his SUV caught a slow leak (dammit Rt. 1) and once again we limped there as it was going flat. If my bf had his equipment here in NJ he would have plugged it himself. It pained him to bring it to Midas, cause he know they would give him the run around and want him to buy a new tire. My bf is in the auto industry, he knew it could be patched/plugged - after specifically telling them he knew it could be plugged, they still refused to plug it. After some back and forth, they relented to just put his spare on, and give him the flat tire so he could plug it himself. They did not charge him for this, probably because they knew he was right. No Midas touch for him :( So the two experiences combined are a 3 star review for me. Good if you have a cut and dry - def. need a new tire. Not so good if you have a flat they refuse to plug. read more

I had brought my vehicle in to this location following a pot hole popping two of my tires during my commute to work. Midas was the only shop that could get my tires with a days notice and went to them with the best intensions. They mounted the two new tires and it took them THREE times and 2 different technicians to align the car. I had asked them if the wheels showed any signs of bends from the pit hole and they said the techs didn't report anything. A week or two later I called them back stating the wheels still seemed out of balance and asked again if they had reported any bends. They again told me no and only rebalanced the wheels. Two weeks after that, I took the vehicle to the dealership for scheduled service and the technicians at the dealership stated that TWO of my wheels were in fact bent and would need repair and another alignment should I choose to get them fixed. Not only were the technicians at this location not capable of completing the work I had requested on multiple occasions but they were not capable of noticing a potentially serious defect in my wheels that I had been commuting 90 miles everyday on for the past 5 weeks. I will NEVER bring my vehicle back here for service again. read more

I will never bring my car here again. Recently bought it in for AC repair...I was charged almost $200.00 for something that wasn't fixed. No warning that the issue couldn't be fixed just called me to tell me my car was ready. As per all mechanics, before any work is done to your car, verification of issue and what can/can not be done to rectify the issue prior to working is the correct procedure. This place is less than a mile from my house and I would rather drive to another state. read more

I HIGHLY recommend this Midas location for all your car servicing needs. A few weeks ago I took my car to Pep Boys in Bordentown for new tires out of convenience. A few days of driving on the new tires, my wheel began to shake when I would brake. I called Pep Boys to see if they could balance the wheels and the manager proceeded to explain how it wasn't the tires, but it was the brakes, without even seeing my car. I brought my car back for an 8:00 a.m. appointment. After not hearing from them all day, I called at 4:30 pm to see what the status was. I was told my car was just being pulled in and they would call me with a diagnosis. They called back saying it was the brakes and I needed FRONT brakes and rotors and it wasn't going to be cheap. They quoted me $753 dollars and said they needed to order them, since they did not carry Jeep Cherokee parts on location. This was going to cause me another day without a car and a lot of money. After worrying about the cost, I decided to call around and see if this was the "going rate" for parts and labor. That's where Midas comes in. I spoke with Nick and explained what was going on and asked for his best estimate for front brakes and rotors. He said he couldn't tell me exact without seeing the car but estimated at most $350. He told me to get my car out of Pep Boys and bring it over. I did. I dropped my car and two hours later I got a call from Nick. He told me that he checked the car, drove it a few times and there was nothing wrong. My brake pads were still at 80%. Nick and his team saved me a ton of money and time. They have gained a customer for life. read more
