I'm afraid, after years of taking my VW here for service and repairs, I am done. In one visit for an oil change and brake inspection: - Tire lugs were tightened to approx. double the recommended torque, making it impossible to, for example, change a flat on the road. I broke a torque wrench rated at twice the torque the lugs were supposed to be tightened. This is the 2nd time they've done this to my car, and I told them about it the 1st time, too. - They recommended replacing 2 rear brake caliper because the handbrake was sticking. $1300 estimate. When asked if the caliper cylinders could be lubed, they had no other recommendations and insisted this was what it needed. Turns out that one of the caliper cylinders needed lubricating. Took me and my wife 15 minutes to fix it with a tiny squirt of WD-40. Works like new! Might fail again, but it's not a critical component, and we'll deal with it again then. - Recommended replacing the aging serpentine belt. I reminded them they'd replaced it 18 months ago. Whoops. An apology and "it has a couple little cracks in it, but that's normal and it should last a long time." I took a look: not a crack to be found. - They forgot to put the wheel lug caps (VWs come with black plastic caps) back on after removing the wheels for the brake inspection. When I called them about it, they'd lost some. They did order a 5-pack to replace the lost ones, so that was fixed. The real value I find in a car shop is knowing that they will recommend both the big fix, and the temporary one -- for when it's just not in our budget! And that I'm never being scammed. read more

Went to Midas to inspect sound from underneath my car. The service in terms of that was fair; the issue was quickly resolved. However, they tried to sell me services that I did not need. I personally feel as though they lied about the status of my vehicle to "get something" for their initial service. I would recommend going ONLY for the repairs/issues you think you have. Do not let them convince you for other services. read more

Received excellent service at a reasonable price. Dealt with a flat tire situation the night before and checked with Costco, but they couldn't get the tires in for three days. Checked the neighborhood Facebook group and found a recommendation for Midas. Booked an appointment for 1:30, but Brian reached out immediately, assisted in determining the right tire, confirmed stock availability, and invited me to come in right away. Brian and Urie were welcoming and friendly when I got there; and quickly got service going. The service crew did great, at least good enough that my wheels were still attached when I got home. The cost was comparable to Costco, and the service was outstanding. While I don't anticipate needing it, if these great Milwaukee roads decide to claim my back tires, I know exactly where to go. read more

I would recommend midias to anyone. I've been doing business with them for over 20 years. They are nice and easy to understand. They provide detail to the problems with your vehicle. They do quality service and stand firm on the value of their service. They are very reasonable with their rates. I needed an oil change and a tire rotation, and chose Midas based on proximity to the house. I got in it quickly using their online appointment tool, and the overall experience was great. People were friendly, it was super fast, and while they gave recommendations for other service, it wasn't pushy. Definitely would use Midas again. read more

My windshield was cracked on my 2023 vehicle while getting the wiper blade changed. When making management aware of the situation I was told to contact the General Manager who has not returned my calls or replied to my emails for over a week. If you are able to choose a different location or company to care for your vehicle I strongly recommend doing so. read more

I love going to this location, they're always timely, kind, and have appointments available. Recently went in and they made some updates to their waiting room- it's more welcoming and comfortable to sit and wait for your car. The parking lot is still a little tough to navigate, but hopefully that gets upgraded soon. Would definitely recommend this location! read more

Their staff is very kind and welcoming. I took my SUV in to have a performance issue taken care of, which they said they could fix. After trying a few fixes they were ultimately not able to fix my car. In the end they ended up making right by me and for that I am very grateful. I scheduled an oil change late last week. They are very flexible there. So I went into to get my oil change. As a person who doesn't know much about cars and has only been the auto shop that my parents go to in my home town... yes I was a little nervous they would try to trick me or something. But they were very friendly. They had a amazing sale on the oil. Originally $60 something for the most expensive oil was now $40 something! Kraeg (not sure of the spelling exactly but his name is Craig) was very friendly and informative. He was main guy at the desk today. He summarized the car inspection (free complimentary inspection) and went over a few suggestions like to look at my back tired by next winter, and a light bulb over my license plate was out. I didn't fee pushed or pressured. I got the little light fixed since the oil was such a good deal. Also very quick. I would recommend to friends. Kind and respectful. Non judgmental if you knew little about car or a lot. Treated you equally! read more

I had brake work scheduled at this location. The job wasn't done right. When I went back to tell who ever was supervising, the same mechanic was sent back to me. "I don't know how to adjust brakes", is what he said. My driver side window tint was purposely carved in. Not to mention, a group of complete strangers with " Black Lives Matters" clothes on accused me of offending them! I NEVER SEEN OR TALKED TO THSES PEOPLE EVER IN MY LIFE!!!! read more

I'm new to the area and appreciated the fast and friendly service. I called two local Subaru deals to get my service work done and neither could "fit me in" after asking I had not purchased my car from them. I called Midas and they got me in when it fit my schedule. They gave me an estimate of how much time the work might take which was appreciated. They were faster than they said they would be, a fraction of the cost the Subaru dealer would have charged and they provide a checklist of other areas of the car that were not being serviced like my tire treads and break pads. I needed brakes and an oil change badly. Scheduled an appointment online and took in car over at the appointed time and day. The staff was very friendly and an explanation of things that would happen was clearly explained. I also had a electronic issue that needed fixing. A short time later I received a call indicating what was needed for the brakes and quoted a price for everything. The whole process was painless and the work was finished pretty quickly. I did find out after picking my car up that Midas does not do the work required to fix my electronic issue - that probably should have been mentioned up front. But I wouldn't hesitate to take my car back to this Midas again. read more

I was very skeptical to go to this Midas after reading reviews online on yelp and google... but my brakes has been grinding for about a week and I was headed to La Crosse last weekend. Wanted to have it checked out before I left. They must have had a change in management about a year or two ago because the comments drastically improved after then and I can see why. I called Midas at about 1 PM, asked if they could check my brakes, they said come on in whenever. I got there at 3 after leaving work - within 40 minutes they had taken it on a test drive and put it up on the hoist to check out. They then pulled me in to show me exactly where the pads and rotors were worn down. Mark and his crew were extremely easy to talk to and as a mid 20's woman I didn't feel they were talking down to me as I feel in a lot of other shops. When they told me that they would feel unsafe allowing me to drive away and wouldn't recommend it, I started crying. Long stressful week + just had the 100k service done 3 weeks before without being told my brakes needed replacing soon at the Brookfield Midas + a new alternator in February all just got to me. They were really nice about it and tried to cheer me up - said they could fix it before they closed at 6 (it was 4 pm at this point). I was out the door at 5 pm with brand new brakes and Mark even gave me a $30 coupon without me asking. I usually look up service coupons on my phone but it was dead. Without me asking (I repeat) he offered $30 off and told me he's haggled with the auto parts store for a cheaper price on parts for me. This is the kind of customer service I respect. They went above and beyond caring that I was having a good experience. Mark chatted with me about why I was headed out of town and made sure I wasn't in a bad mood by the time I left. Very friendly and genuine. It's nice to know there's a place with great workers who care about your safety, not just about making a sale, because you can tell they really were concerned. I will definitely be back after exclusively going to the Midas in Brookfield for 7 years. read more

This was the best experience with a mechanic I've ever had. Alex, the manager, was great to work with. My old Saab started smoking and clanging, and they stayed late so I could have the car towed in. They were very upfront with me, and even gave me a ride home. When it turned out the cost was going to be too high to make the repair worth it, they didn't try to cheat me. What a mess. My dad did me a favor and got rid of the funny noise my car was making by bringing it into a Midas shop in Brookfield and forking over half a grand to replace my front bearings. Awesome, right? Fast forward 7 months - I've had a nagging feeling for a bit that my car isn't handling very well. I happen to park with my wheels turned out and I catch a glance of the tread on the inside of my front tires - completely gone! Smooth as a baby's bottom... and so very dangerous! Yikes! I bring my car to my go-to repair shop (Voline) only to find that the passenger's side front bearing is loose (implied to be due to a poor install job) and broken and also broke the corresponding joint. Shocked, I pay this place for new tires and a new joint and then figure I'll get the bearing replaced by Midas. (Wish I could get them to pay for my tires too..) After some back and forth on the phone, the Brookfield Midas told me to go to the Glendale Midas as it is closer to me. That was kind of nice, but also worried me - I felt like the person I was talking to was trying to unload me onto someone else. I called the Glendale Midas to explain the situation and immediately had trouble communicating. Whoever I spoke to sounded like he had had too much coffee, or someone was fast forwarding his voice. I kept having to have him repeat himself. He sounded doubtful of my story, so I ended up having my dad call to explain it to him (let's be honest, I don't know how cars work, maybe I was saying something ridiculous about the joint). Somehow an agreement was reached and I made an appointment to bring my car in right away. As soon as I got there they hoisted my car up to check out the damage. Sure enough, there was a loose and broken bearing, but they also pointed out my strut on the passenger's side was looser than on the strut on the driver's side and told me that could be to blame for wearing out my tires too. Now, the dealership had told me about my loose strut but they told me it would just cause me to have a bumpier ride, so I had opted not to fix it a few months ago. Regardless of whether or not it contributed, I felt like they were looking for ways to excuse themselves of the blame. No one ever apologized for the poor installation in the first place or expressed any concern for my safety or the damage to my car. I ended up getting the bearing replaced for free, but it seems like a small consolation when I consider the cost of the new tires, new joint, and alignment fee that I'm paying to another place. Thank goodness I didn't get in an accident with those slick tires. I almost made this a 2 star review because, to their credit, they did honor the warrantee even though it was only for 6 months (I think) and it had been 7 months. Additionally, they were courteous in person (though abrupt on the phone) and prompt. However, I still distrust their work after this incident and would tell others say STAY AWAY from Midas, particularly in Brookfield and Glendale. read more

By far the most pleasant and affordable experience we've had - two times in a row! These guys don't mess around. They're honest, friendly, hard-working and to the point. They answer all of our questions patiently and thoroughly. Each time, we have been amazed by how affordable their services are. They are great about communicating with us each step of the way- no surprises! You and your vehicle will be treated with the utmost respect at this location. We've decided to never see a different mechanic as long as we're in Milwaukee! Example anecdote of today's experience: We brought the Jeep in for a leaky tire. Within 45 minutes, they identified the problem and completed the fix for $25 (It's Saturday, by the way). The process involved swapping our spare (which was installed when we arrived) with the leaky tire we had stored in the trunk. After the fix, they took the time to carefully wind up the spare back into the embedded compartment beneath the car which involved clearing golf clubs and other junk out of the trunk and putting it all back. John at Midas is a gem! Came in for emergency battery repair (that Valvoline couldn't help with) and oil change about two weeks ago for an older Lexus. John got my new battery installed quickly and today- analyzed NO CHARGE that the reason my lights came on in the dash -was a faulty gas cap- he just saved me hundreds of dollars at the Lexus Dealership. ZERO STARS IF THAT WOULD BE POSSIBLE. I took my car here to get the exhaust fixed before leaving on business. After fixing the exhaust they suggested the tie rod be replaced, I agreed to the fix although it had seen 3000+ miles with that loose tie rod already. My sister and brother-in-law picked the car up after the tie rod "repair" and noticed a loud clanging sound. After returning on business, I took the car back to get checked out and was told the strut is completely snapped. They denied having anything to do with that and started pitching a new strut to me. This is downright criminal. And to make things worse, this shop changed the oil the day before I returned from business and serviced the car with a broken strut and had no idea!!!! What kind of car care professionals are unable to recognize an unsafe car? And then service that car and let the customer leave without any warning? read more

OH MY GOD.......is all I can say about my latest experience at this Midas. I made an appt. for an oil change and tire rotation a week in advance, because I have limited time off. I show up 5min early for the appt. (I did my part) turned the keys over, verified they were doing an oil change and tire rotation, as well as all of their 'well advertised' many courtesy checks and fluid top offs. I also asked if they could swap out a battery connected while it was here. "Sure they said, obviously not for free". "OK, tell me the price before you do the work and I'll decide". The guy asks if I'm staying and I said, "yeah, you said about 30 min right?"..."yeah" the guy responds. So I hang out in the lobby, terrible lobby by the way, but I guess that's what you get at these shit holes called Midas. So I wait, and wait and wait....I waited 45 min, before I realized they hadn't even touched my car. I asked the guy what's the deal? He says, "sorry man, one of our workers had to take lunch, there's only one guy working the floor." WTF I made an appt you dumbass, get the work done, I got shit to do. Then he says, oh the cost to swap out connectors will be $20. I said, for 5min of work u are going to charge me $20 bucks????? I said, well you already did the work w/o asking me, why don't you just through it in for free since I've been sitting here 45min and you haven't touched my car? The owner comes out and says "That's not possible, I can't give something away for free". Then says, " I can take it off and put on the old ones for you".....so let me get this straight, this lousy excuse for a man, is willing to take more of everybody's time waiting for their cars in order to remove the new connecter he has just put on and put on the old ones, because he won't do something for free??? What a dick. Anyways, so then they finally start working on my car, call me out there to tell me they won't do a tire rotation or balance, cause my tires aren't in proper condition. I said, well why don't you just balance them at least.....answer, NO. Alrighty then, thanks for being so helpful. I go to pay, read the slip of their courtesy checks; fluids filled, check. At this point I would believe nothing these guys are feeding me, so when I get into my car, pop the hood, and check my fluids....guess what, they filled ZERO fluids....what a bunch useless losers. I'm sorry...ur job is soooooooo hard, let me see, you first have to drain some fluids....and then you have to fill some fluids...gosh that must be taxing on ur brains. I immediately confronted the owner and said, "WTF, you didn't even fill the fluids, can you guys do anything right?" He didn't take too kindly to that, so I showed him, he says "Well I can fill them now." and I said, "Don't bother, I won't be returning here, plus I have to head home and rip you and your business apart online." He didn't care for that either....oh well, Karma is a bitch. You know what I've learned about a lot of people in this world, nobody does shit right, so of course you have to do it yourself. Man I wish one day I could give an automotive place 5 stars....it would make my year. Point of my ordeal for you my friends......STAY AWAY...seriously just STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! AWFUL SERVICE. Took my car in for a tire rotation and re-balance of the tires. They did it in about an hour. Told me I'd have a "little vibration". Took it home, didn't take my car on the freeway until the next day. When I hit 40-50 mph, my steering wheel and seat started vibrating EXCESSIVELY. Took the car back the same day, they took it out for a test drive, came back and basically told me it was due to my "bent" tire rims. Advised me I would have to take my rims elsewhere to get it re-melted, re-molded, and re-fitted on my tires. No sorry, no apologies, no refund. They switched my tires back to exactly how they were originally. I paid them to tinker with my car and take it out for a test drive. The guy on site was full of excuses, oh "you're tires are great, it's your car that's at fault." They also killed my battery while servicing my car, I went out to see why they were looking for my battery, only to find out they left the lights in the wrong position. Lights in the wrong position will kill my battery each and every time. Again, they said, my I had a bad battery. My battery was just tested a month ago as ok. Took my car to another mechanic who took the time to ensure the tires were properly cleaned and re-balanced. When he returned to the car to me, it ran as smooth as it always runs. No ridiculous vibration as Midas had told me. Avoid Midas like the plague, or you will be paying for half-assed work. This place is a rip-off and should only stick to oil changes. Who knows if they can even accomplish that job sufficiently. read more

Went a whim and called Midas after my regular auto shop was no help and it was the best decision ever. I called the shop for an appointment for a dead battery, I was able to get my car in the next day and the gentleman gave me a quote over the phone. Dropped the car off and 10 minutes later it was done AND they reset my radio for me. Super nice guys, will use them going forward! read more

I too was worried about using a Midas shop....but my radiator hoses and thermostat repair was completed along with my brake pads and rotors....in just hours...and the technicians stayed late to be sure that I could get home to Manitowoc yet that night. The price was right even though the shop knew that I had few choices. I would recommend this shop to anyone. The only suggestion is that the owner might consider putting some profits back into the business in updating the waiting lobby and landscaping. The shop looks dated. read more

Avoid this Midas. This has been the most unprofessional car mechanic I have been to. The mechanic I spoke with did not articulate what the problems with my car were and was very confusing when trying to estimate the costs of the repairs. My situation: I was driving on the highway when my wheel froze up, gas pedal locked up and the engine shut off forcing me to coast across 3 lanes of traffic to the shoulder. My car started back up again and I took it straight to the nearest auto repair shop which was this Midas. I dropped off my car before the shop closed for a diagnostic. The following day I received a call quoting me at $3,500 for my $8,000 Buick LeSabre. They told me I needed to repair my rear air pump shocks for $483, the shock mounting kit for $50, left front hub bearing for $458 with a $158 service fee, $687 for new body control module, cluster control for $620, new battery for $190 and the diagnostic for $105. A total of $2751 isn't close to $3,500. I had to pry the individual costs from the mechanic and he had trouble giving me the exact costs. Why was the cost so high before I got the individual costs? I returned to Midas the next day to pick up my car after they replaced my battery and rear air shocks and meet a different employee at the desk. I give him my information and he asks If I just want the keys. I tell him that I want my car too. Then he looks at my info and says "ok you're good to go". I never paid or gave credit card info to them. They were going to let me walk out the door with what they thought was $3,500 of work without checking if I paid. I tell him I never paid and he brings up the bill to $3,500. I look at his screen and it lists the repairs that I specifically said not to do. I tell him this and he just deletes them from the list, just taking my word and I pay $771 for the repairs I wanted done. I promptly took my car to a firestone to have them see if I really do need those other parts and if Midas actually performed any maintenance on my car at all. read more

My brakes were squeaking so I hesitantly made an appointment here since I couldn't get into my usual place. I'd been told I needed new brake pads but after the guys at Midas looked at it they said all it needed was an adjustment. Saved me a lot of money!
