    WARNING regarding MIDAS on 60th Avenue and Bell Road. 7/24/24 UPDATE: We have spoken again with Mike Des Marais (Regional Manager) at Midas regarding the damage that was done to our 2019 Toyota Tacoma at the Midas located at 6021 W Bell Rd in Glendale, AZ. Unfortunately neither that location, nor Midas in general, is willing to fully compensate us for what it took to restore the exhaust system due to the damages incurred at this location. NOT ONE PERSON from the leadership of the Midas location that this happened at has EVER reached out to us. In summary, OUR ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM NEEDED REPLACING DUE TO MIDAS WELDING A NON-COMPATIBLE METAL REBAR TO OUR SYSTEM, EVEN TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS! This was supposedly to provide theft protection. The cost to repair was just over $3,500. Three other mechanic shops validated that it was Midas that did the damage, and all quoted within $150 for the repair cost. We truly can not understand the lack of concern for righting the wrong that has been done to us. Also, don't be fooled if you see that Midas "reached out to us" in any comments on Google Review or other sites. They only reached out to say that they are NOT going to pay for the cost it took to make the exhaust system whole again. This was the Regional Manager (Mike) that denied any just compensation, so don't think that it is only the 60th Avenue & Bell location that doesn't care about treating their customers fairly. I can see after every complaint that this is Midas' way of causing others to think that they are resolving issues. Don't be fooled! Here is what I sent to the BBB. The BBB have responded and said that they have sent my allegations to the shop and are hoping that they will respond. Here's the BBB complaint: I am reaching out regarding damage done to my 2019 Toyota Tacoma catalytic converters and exhaust system on 7/11/23. This damage was incurred through the negligent installation of a supposed security measure for preventing the theft of my catalytic converters by Midas Muffler, located at 6021 West Bell Road, Glendale, AZ 85308. Not only has the methodology that Midas used been determined to be useless in aiding my attempts to protect my vehicle, Midas did irreparable damage to my exhaust system by burning holes in multiple places in their attempt to weld a piece of rebar to my system. I have three other mechanic shops who have verified this in writing for me. The actual shop refused to have a representative come to my mechanic's shop (which is only five minutes from their location) so that my mechanic could point out what they were seeing and why they believed it was Midas' work that caused the damage. In summary, I paid Midas $100.00 to protect my exhaust system and instead had my exhaust system irreparably damaged. Making my truck's exhaust system whole again cost $3,540.91. (End of BBB complaint.) I have downloaded two pictures. I have several more pictures but these two give you the idea of how they just took a piece of rebar and attempted to weld it to my entire exhaust system. I was informed that not only is this methodology worthless in stopping a thief, the metal that this rebar is made of was not compatible for welding to the type of metal the exhaust system is made of. This is probably what caused the mechanic to continue with too much heat, which caused the holes, as they attempted to make an incompatible weld. I have never posted anything like this before but the absolute disregard and rudeness received in trying to get this resolved demands others to be warned.

    I wouldn't recommend going to this location--Carls Car Care is in the same lot and seems to be a much better choice. We tried Midas for some repairs on our car and ended up being blamed for their mistake. It cost us hours of our time and much stress to sort the matter out. Here's our experience: We had recently purchased a new car battery, but when the battery indicator light came on within a week of replacement, we knew our alternator was failing. Midas replaced the alternator, but there were still a few indicator lights activated on the dash after they were done. We told them these weren't on before that morning and said it must be something that happened during installation, but they didn't want to consider this and decided to only check the battery instead. They diagnosed that we had fried our sensors by jumping our car incorrectly (which simply wasn't the case since we hadn't jumped our car with the new battery and, again, the lights had only turned on that morning- and we told them that). They would not listen to us and insisted they had done everything right and told us to take our car to the dealership to repair the computer board on our own dime and time. We went to the dealership, and within minutes they found the new alternator had been incorrectly installed by Midas (it had been forcefully plugged in and the prong for the sensor had bent flat--see picture in review, thank you Honda for providing it!). The result: our car couldn't detect the alternator, hence the lights being lit on the dashboard. Honda couldn't fix the part without voiding the warranty, so they recommend we return to Midas once more for an obvious and simple fix. We returned to Midas, they bent the wire back in place, and we were sent on our way. No apology or anything. Midas had been careless, untrusting, and unwilling to doublecheck their OWN work. This cost us hours of our time and undue stress, especially since we were blamed for their mistake. The staff and management here are not the kind of people you want to deal with. You will be wrong.

Without indicating there was ANY cost involved whatsoever, Front Desk Guy sweetly asked "would you like us to give it a once-over?" Which, since I was at that time a regular customer, I THOUGHT that meant just give it a safety-check out of courtesy to a repeat, publicly complimentary, senior-citizen client that they maybe cared for! How wrong I was. After having it several days, they tell me that they can't fix the original problem because they "Couldn't find the part - and wouldn't install an after-market part off of Ebay" (My car is a 1999 w/ low mileage) Then the real Clinker after 3 days: They call and say, "We couldn't fix your problem, but come and get your truck and pay Christian Bro's nearly $200 bucks for a "diagnostic" that I WAS NOT INFORMED UP FRONT would cost anything at all! But also, this 'Diagnostic' informs me that my truck needs OVER $4300 DOLLARS in servicings and repairs - Including NEW BRAKES that, apparently the "Diagnostic expert" wasn't aware had been replaced by them on that very truck a few months earlier! I felt totally taken advantage of and complained to the manager, John, who gave me some "yada yada" and stated that that particular employee working the front desk was fired - However, and this is the whole point of the story - This manager of this multi-million dollar, allegedly 'Christian', gold-mine on the corner of Thunderbird & 75th Ave would NOT refund all, or any part, of this deceitful charge with a humble apology for their unscrupulous employee (note: Failure to disclose a COST right up front is a LIE ) Not only that, but Upsell #1 opened the door for MEGA-UPSELL #2 of $4,319 dollars! I STILL look back at this lengthy report with shock and awe. According to this diagnostic that I didn't ask for, there's no reason, whatsoever, my truck is still able to roll down the street. According to them, practically EVERYTHING on my vehicle is on it's last couple of miles.; Lastly, and final insult to my patronage, my age, my intelligence, nor would Christian Brothers even offer a discount or a half-off on the next visit to them. You know, a way of saying, "We still want your business". I think they saw a senior-woman and saw a dumb sucker ready to be plucked out of the stream of suckers. In that lone experience, I learned Christian Brothers is all about "Show me the $ MONEY $" They are only after the money, and customer retention is completely moot. They could care LESS if you are a returning customer. I am no longer using Christian Brothers for any auto repair needs. If anyone knows of an HONEST, caring, competent auto mechanic around Peoria/Glendale please be so kind as to DM me. I'm shopping for one. **I tried to scan & copy the actual Invoice from this incident, but for some technological mystery beyond me - I couldn't get this file search in Yelp to access where I am sure I put the two files.**

I needed to replace my Wife's car AC cabin fan and radiator fan. I bought the parts at the dealer expecting to do the repair myself. After watching YouTube videos I decided someone with actual skill and experience needed to do the job. I made an appointment through Yelp. The repair took about three hours. I was happy when they called with the request to proceed after testing that they did not try to up sell me on other repairs, just I was right that the fan motors were bad. When I picked up the repaired car, they did have a list of issues and discussed the importance of repairing each. Most were just fine right now but watch for issues in the future. They did say there was a split hose from the engine air filter to the engine which needed replacing sooner than later. Since I do the routine maintenance on my cars at home they suggested buying a new hose and installing it myself. They were happy to do it but said that part was easy to replace. I also appreciate they returned the replaced parts without me asking. First repair and I'm impressed. I posted on an Uber driver facebook group about the company. One driver replied they don't go Cha-Ching when a female walks in. Everything about my first repair was transparent and fully discussed before the repair and when I picked up.

I called AAA for a tow and planned to have my vehicle taken to my own mechanic. However, when the tow truck driver arrived, he strongly persuaded me to have it taken to a AAA Auto Shop instead, saying it would be quicker and better for the diagnosis. That turned out to be a mistake. A day later, the AAA technician called and emailed me claiming that my heater hose had busted, causing overheating, and that their diagnostic machine showed my entire engine was "no good." They sent me an estimate to rebuild or replace the engine for over $14,000. I didn't trust that, so I had the car towed again -- this time back to the mechanic of my choice. After inspecting it, they confirmed the heater hose had indeed burst, but the engine was perfectly fine. The hose repair was around $600, and with a new radiator and one other part, my total repair cost was $2,044. So how did the AAA shop come up with a $14,000 engine replacement? I was absolutely not satisfied with the AAA technician, their diagnosis, or the pressure to take my car to their shop in the first place. Getting a second opinion saved me over $12,000.     I brought my 1959 Cadillac to Jake at Done Right to address several leaks and to get the AC in…read moreworking order. After roughly three and a half weeks at his shop, Jake tried to return the car to me in far worse condition than when I left it with him. Jake and his guys managed to scratch and damage both inner wheel wells under the hood, scratch the painted glove box, and left the interior of the car completely filthy. At that point, I should have taken my car elsewhere to correct the damage he had done instead of leaving it with him longer to fix. Sure enough, he repainted the wheel wells (looks worse now), he sent my glove box panel to his guy Cody at Pristine Shine detailing which also looks far worse than it did even with the scratch on it. Aside from the damage to the car, the AC duct work was never properly reinstalled, and the car had a stutter under throttle which was new since he did the work. It wouldn't have been so bad if Jake didn't have an excuse for all the damage I found to my car. He had no interest in taking ownership of the damage caused and addressing it properly. I will take some responsibility, I should have known better after seeing his operation and the condition of his shop. The shop itself is disgusting, he has teenagers doing most of the work it looks like. When I went to finally pick up my car he has kids running around the shop and my car like a playground, at that point I just wanted to get my car out of there before he could do more damage to it. I fully expect to take the car to someone capable to fix the damage Jake already tried to fix. I would implore you to find service for your car elsewhere. No consideration or care was given to my car while it was in Jake's hands, I'm sure there are plenty of other options in St. George that will actually take care of trying to return it to you damaged in disgusting condition. Hopefully my lesson helps you steer clear of Done Right.

I was desperately due for an oil change and got a flyer in the mail for this place, so I tried to check it out. I'm a firm believer in supporting local over chain and namebrand locations, so this is perfect and very close to where I live. I was intrigued by the coupon that was on the flyer I received in the mail. I called to schedule an appointment and got in the next day. The parking lot where this location is at is very small and crowded, and it's right next to Midas, so there was nowhere to park when I pulled into the parking lot. I had to park in a slot that was reserved for another business, but there was nowhere else to go. This was annoying. I walked into the lobby and there were two people sitting there, the girl asked how she could help me and I told her that I had an appointment for an oil change. She said, can I have your key? Once I handed it to her, she said it will be about an hour. She didn't ask me if I had any concerns, or explain what was included in the oil change, if I wanted recommendations, if there was anything extra. She didn't tell me where to wait or if I was leaving or staying. I walked outside and next-door to find a little area for waiting. The waiting area has a small couch, a couple of chairs, a water cooler, bathrooms, and a few vending machines. She walked back to grab me about 40 minutes later. I walked in to pay, and asked her if I could use the coupon. She said that the price that I was paying is already at the coupon price. And I said oh OK, I was just confused about why the coupon was in the mail if the coupon price is also, what's available in the store. Both people at the desk just stared at me and didn't say anything. So I paid, and left. This was a very underwhelming visit, and they did not have good customer service. I'm really disappointed and surprised in this because all of the reviews here indicate the exact opposite. I have no idea what they did to my car, what they checked, or anything else for that matter. I'm very proud to support local, but if a chain is going to provide better customer service with comparable prices, it doesn't leave you much of an option.
