I was there for an oil change and it took an hour for my car to be ready, which I think it's a long time to wait for an oil change. They charge $40 to rotate your tires, I have never paid for tire rotation before. I thought that was weird. I wouldn't recover this place. Seems like a scam. read more

This location runs a shady business practice. They don't tell people prices. They expect you to read them. The lady at the front reception was rude, did not let me know before hand how much a diagnostic would cost. I was told the night before by an employee it would be free and she told me nothing is free after she slammed me with a $200 fee. She held my car hostage on a machine until I paid. She never had me sign anything she says she did but we have 5 witnesses against you. I told the manager to check the cameras but he wouldn't. I would stay away from this location at all cost. I was charged for brand new rotors and the car began shaking after a year. I took it to a different mechanic, they told me Midas resurfaced my rotors and did not provide me with new ones (they can tell by the mark the machine leaves on the rotors after being resurfaced). I will be reporting this location to the California Department of Consumer Affairs as well as the BBB. Please do not go to to this shop as they are scammers. read more

They're family owned and operated so we might make this our truck maintenance spot. At least we will for oil changes. We were in and out in less than an hour on a Friday which is pretty good. SCAM!! SCAM! SCAM! I came to this location for the 2nd time this week to get an oil change for my wife's car this time. It was about 4:00pm . The guy at the counter said they had time and I handed over my keys to the mechanic who was in the lobby at the time. They were slow and there were no other customers . He pulled my car into the bay and I could hear him opening up the hood and working on it . A few minutes go by and the mechanic comes in and starts speaking in another language to the guy at the counter so I look up at the mechanic and he tells me there is a problem that he wanted to show me. So the three of us go out to the car, it's up on the lift and they have me walk under the car and proceed to tell me the drain plug is broken , the threads are either broken and that it just keeps spinning. As I'm watching him spin the plug he is spinning it in the opposite direction as if he was tightening it. They told me they would have to break it off and that the oil pan would need to be replaced as well. They asked if I wanted to proceed and have them fix it. I said " no not right now I'll just leave" . They give me a quote before I left for $705 , I look up an oil pan for my car at most it's $234 . The paper I was given said the part was $428 and $285 labor. I left and went back home. The next day I get under my car to look at the lug myself which I found was loose and I spun it to the right three or four times and it tightened . I just took it to my normal mechanic shop(using them for the last 10 years)today because I figured if there was more to it I trust him and they will fix it. I didn't tell him what Midas said about the drain plug and oil pan being broken and needing to be replaced . I got a phone call from my normal mechanic today . They said they performed the oil change and never mention once anything about the plug or pan. Those guys at Midas tried to play me that night hoping I wasn't car smart and would just let them sayfixsomething that they most likely would have never replaced . I will never come back here again. It's sad that you can't just go get an oil change without stuff like this happening . It makes me wonder how often this location has done this to other people. read more

It's hard to put value because no one wants to do the maintenance on their vehicle but I don't feel the prices are so high I'm getting ripped off. I was lucky I was still covered under warranty below 36k, Honda roadside assistance came out to get my spare tire on. I called Midus to check if they had time to do an oil change around 2:00 PM on Sunday, and the gentleman on the phone told me that there would be no wait and to come in anytime before they close. I was 99% sure the guy at the front desk sighed when he saw me walk in around 2:30. I went on to fill out the necessary paperwork (including my contact #), gave the guy at the front desk my keys, and told us to wait for the car to be ready. We decided to walk around while we waited for my car to be serviced. After about 25 minutes, we headed back to the lobby and waited there for about 10 minutes. The guy from the front desk comes back and informs me that their system cannot pull up the correct oil needed for my car or how many quarts are required for the oil change. He went on to say that I should take my car to the dealership instead. This was one of the weirdest responses I've gotten when getting my oil changed. It's not difficult to google the oil needed or how many quarts (which was easy enough for me to do). They had my number and couldn't've called me when they decided this, rather than me walking around wasting my time. I drive a VW Tiguan, and I completely get that some places cannot service European cars or may not have the correct filters on hand, but really? You couldn't figure out the basic things required for the oil change? I ended up taking my car to Oil Changers, and they were able to service it within 15 minutes. I told the guy there what had happened, and he said Midus' response made no sense. I highly recommend making sure they have the items needed for your oil change before wasting your time coming in and waiting around. read more

Absolutely awful automotive repair experience. Please stay away. Got a kid (can't be older than 8) running around playing in shop too! A simple question of "where did you buy coolant from, so I can top off the low coolant that you guys left? I have a low coolant light on directly after getting my coolant system fixed." Instead of telling me where. He rather argue and get loud with me. It's a closed. Pressurized system and I'm quite familiar with it. I'm getting over being sick otherwise I wouldn't have brought to you. Without questioning his 25 year experience mechanic couldn't have made a small mistakes and it's a lil under filled? No. Wanted to justifying by saying " maybe it over heated" within the 10 minutes of me driving? We filled it fully they claimed That's impossible! Also, just because it took your mechanic longer than expected isn't the customers fault. It could be the mechanics experience with that certain engine. Or just made a simple mistake. Wish I went somewhere else. Honestly anywhere else would've been better. 1,100$ later, argued and got loud with a customer, also topping off my own coolant after they serviced my coolant system is my experience. read more

The Sikh technician is great and efficient, but the front manager is dishonest. We went for a tire rotation and a transmission oil drain refill. The front manager tried to scare us into buying new tires, even though the tires were perfectly fine ( I do penny checks monthly). I took it to I took the car to two other shops, they also assessed the tires to be perfectly fine. Even the shop's own technician who later point-checked the car said tires are fine. Quoted $400 on automatic transmission drain and refill. Took it to another shop with a good Yelp review, and did the whole thing with original Honda fluid for $60. I expect all shops to overcharge and pushy, but there is a limit. This store front manager is completely out of limit and dishonest. Never going back. read more

Because of Marcus the very experienced service manager and A,D., the branch manager/owner, today was one of the best days ever regarding comprehensive work on my vehicle. Because of the knowledge of Marcus and observing him fitting and working well under the leadership, system, customer relations, and quality/safe work culture of A.D., I will for sure continue my fifth year at the Thornton location for all my car maintenance. He is courteous, right to the point, explains things extremely well to laypersons, has great communication, coordination and direction with the mechanics as to specific concerns of issues mentioned by the customers- particularly when it comes to follow-up to make sure everything was taken care of and within standard protocol. Marcus is super negotiating with parts distributors, deftly manages incoming calls/ customers, pick up customers, waiting customers, return calls, stressed out customers, immediate/priority responses of management, and mechanic inquiries. His great personality ensures a happy return- customer base/growth, and he is always willing when possible to notify of, and offer when possible fair/generous company discounts, warranty info etc. One can tell Marcus does this genuinely as one would a good friend-not because he is trying to boost sales or profit. He knows people really come back because they want to and feel comfortable, savings are thus icing on the cake, and he would want to be treated with respect as he cares about people and understands how peoples vehicles are a deep part of one's self. In sum, I was telling Marcus today that his skills would be great as an air traffic controller if he switched industries, and was a designated hitter in a company section dealing with customer complaints/employee grievances/, and being a competent rep for the office boss- like he is for A.D. every time I bring my car in. I went here for an oil change when they had a promotion during the Fourth of July. I was in and out in less than an hour. I went in the morning and there were no lines. The staff worked with me regarding my needs (I didn't want to get my tires rotated because I didn't have the time to stay there). The staff was very nice and patient with my requests. I made an appointment because my tire on the back right of my car kept losing air. I told them I think there might be a nail or a leak. They kept "assuring me" there was nothing wrong with the tire & they just added some air to it. I had to take the day off work to make it to the appointment. The next morning that same tire that they kept assuring me there was nothing wrong with, was at a low PSI again & the tire light was on on the dashboard. I found a nail in the tire. I don't think they even checked the tire & I had to take another day off work to go somewhere else to solve my problem because I was dismissed & not believed. read more

Sam is very friendly and knowledgeable about cars. I don't know anything about cars and he patiently explained to me where the problem is how the parts function in my car. The mechanic working on it (I didn't get his name) even took pictures to show me the actual problem (there was a leak under part of the engine that he had to remove). They even showed me the new parts that they were going to put in. They were both patient in taking me to look at my engine and showing me what they were going to do and showing me where the parts go and answered all my questions. Sam kept me updated with how long the repair would take and other minor problems they ran into. There was other work that he recommended should be done but wasn't pushy about it. read more
