The worse experience I have ever had with any company in my life. Not only did they keep my truck for 3 weeks promising to ship it off to Jeep for repairs and didn't follow through, but the Store Manager at 798 W. Brookhaven Cir, Memphis TN informed at the 3rd week that he wasn't doing anything and I needed to just take my jeep. After asking why would I be told they were shipping and now not, he said "ohh well it's your jeep, you take it, we cant fix it". After getting my jeep set up to be towed away myself, they came out and said that was their battery in my jeep and removed it and said it can go without a battery. I asked where was the battery that was in the Jeep when it came, and the regional manager stated "He will find it later today and deliver it to jeep". SCAMMERS Went for an oil change (with no engine check lights on or any prior issues with my vehicle).Firstly they aggressively tried to get me to get more work done on my vehicle with stuff i did not need. (valuing at 3000 dollars) I declined, the manager continued, trying to offer me multiple financing options after i declined ... i had to decline the manager numerous time about it. After waiting a hour for my oil change I immediately notice my car is running worse, the car is jerking and the engine check light is on and i drive back the same day to see what the issue was, Now my vehicle has 9 brand new engine errors displaying on car computer scanner all thanks to Midas. And the manager says there's nothing he WILL do and hands me a bill for 500$ to fix the problem they have caused. And to cap it all off i researched the issue from the scanner and the parts to fix it comes out to 60$ They were trying to get 500$ ...Math isn't Right At All. I will be taking my vehicle else where to fix these issues due to rude management ,terrible service, aggressive upselling, scammish intent and lack of taking responsibility. This Midas is ridiculous. I came in for an oil change and the manager and tech had no idea what they were doing. They overfilled my truck with oil by a quart and also put the wrong oil filter on. When the tech pulled my truck out of the bay door the oil filter blew off the truck and oil poured on to the parking lot. I screamed at him to turn off the truck before he damaged my engine because he had no idea what was going on. The manager then said he didn't have the correct oil filter in stock and would have to order it. I told him that I wasn't going to wait while some guy has to deliver an oil filter to the store while my truck sits in the parking lot in a pool of oil. He then called the Auto Zone a block down the street and got the right oil filter and put it on. Then, without checking the oil level, the tech tried to pour 6 quarts of oil into the truck and I told him that it only holds 5 quarts and that he never checked the oil level to begin with. Turns out, there were 2 quarts of oil left in the pan so he would have put 8 quarts into a vehicle that only holds 5...could have blown a gasket on my engine...idiots! It gets better...I called the ownership of Midas and spoke to a guy named Dustin. He told me he wanted to make it right and apologized for the issue. He asked what he could do to earn my business back. I told him he could write me a check for $35 I spent on Groupon for the oil change. He said, "Well we only see $10 of the $35 you spent on Groupon so we can't do that". I said, "That is all you need to say, I will never come to a Midas as long as I live". November 6, 2021 Attention: Darryl Broomfield and Chris Barnes On September 18th, 2021, I went to Midas on Brookhaven Circle in Memphis, TN to have a brake system inspection don, all four of my brakes and rotors replaced, as well as have a brake flush that was recommended to me by Mr. Darryl Broomfield (Store Manager) on my 2002 Toyota Sequoia. The service was done that day and I paid a total of $966.09. A few weeks later my wife and I noticed a horrible squeaking noise coming from the wheels of our vehicle but could tell which one. I will note that our Sequoia is not our daily driver as we have two other cars that we drive. Since the Sequoia is a 2002 model, I believed it to be a ball bearing or cv joint issue, so I took it to a local Toyota dealership for an oil change and for them to diagnose the wheel noise issue. The technician at Toyota called me and the first thing he said to me was, "Has someone worked on your brakes recently?" I told him yes, and he responded that whoever did my brakes did not put my emergency brakes back on properly and they were loose. He also said that I should be glad that I brought it in when I did because my brake system was on the verge of failure along with the potential damage to my master cylinder. I had to pay a total of $504.02 to have the emergency brake shoes replaced, as well as hardware, and labor. On top of that, my brake fluid had to be filled, even though I had a brake flush done at Midas previously. On October 26th, 2021, I called Midas at Brookhaven Circle to speak with a manager, to tell them of the issue that I had. A young lady spoke with me and said that she was a manager. She was very dismissive of my claim, and constantly overtalked me on the phone. She kept repeating that my warranty was voided because I took my vehicle to Toyota. I tried to explain to her that this issue had nothing to do with a warranty, but negligence. I even visited the store to speak with a manager on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, to speak with a manager in person and the same young lady I spoke to on the phone was there, still overtalking me and being dismissive. I told her again that the issue was caused by the company's negligence and had nothing to do with a voided warranty. I asked to speak to Mr. Darryl Broomfield, and she informed that he was not there but that she would take my number down and he would call me. Today is November 6, 2021, and I still have not heard from Mr. Broomfield. I am beyond frustrated with the service and lack of concern for their negligence at this Midas location. I am requesting that I be fully compensated for the negligent work that was done by the Midas technician which caused me to spend an extra $504.02. It is my sincere hope that we can resolve this issue at the local level before it has to be escalated within the corporate and legal system. I'M NEVER COMING BACK HERE. Two visits for oil changes; they broke unrelated parts of my car both times. The first time they upsold me on sway bar links that supposedly needed replacing as a matter of safety. Driving away I heard a brand new clunking sound. They then tried to explain that the clunking was coming from a different part (!!) which was worn down. Ha! They put in different sway bar links but the clunking persisted, and I did not want them rummaging around any further in my car. A coupon brought me reluctantly back today, and they gave me a flat tire. I had turned down the upsells but asked for my spare to be filled (it's situated such that I can't access the valve stem without taking it down.) I was told he didn't fill it bc it would require him taking it down, but he had filled the other tires (all of which have been appropriately inflated for over a month since the temps dropped.) Within ten minutes driving home one of my tires was registering 24 psi with air hissing directly out an uncapped valve stem (hissing stopped upon placing a finger over the valve stem - no mystery as to where the leak is). Having no extra valve caps laying around, and unable to return with my two tapped out tiny children at dinner time, an hour later in the driveway it was down to 3psi. What did they do to my tire?? I'm told I can bring my completely flat tire in for them to look at "to see if it was caused by what we did, or if it was a nail." read more

I took my car to Midas for years my service was good until I took it to shop for the last. I spent 4500 for my car to run for a month. I paid for rear seal gasket, battery, spark plugs, oil, and a alternator. I was leave work and my car started running hot. My car was doing that until that touch . They get no stars. I went in for a rotate and balance, and 2 hours later left. Headed out of town directly from the visit. Wasn't quite balanced, vibrated pretty bad at highway speeds. So I returned after the weekend trip, they worked on it for two hours, came back and said"you must've hit a pothole, you have a broken belt on the right rear tire. I had to go out of town again, and this time the vibration was so bad i pulled into the Firestone in Collierville. Told them what they said, asked them to look at it. The mechanic rolled the tire in laughing - the Midas guy had put over 60 weights on the tire, in addition to the others. He just added so many weights that it got worse and worse. Plus the tire was fine! The guys at Firestone couldn't stop laughing. They had added over 10 pounds of weights - that's right, TEN POUNDS! - trying to balance the tire. WARNING MIDAS 798 E BROOKHAVEN ARE BAD TO TOURIST Its with a heavy heart that I have to place this post. We have all ways trusted Midas for quality work and cleanliness of our vehicle. And I want it known my wife and I are not looking for any favors from the GREAT people of Memphis I thank you for treating us with such great kindness. THANK YOU With that said: My wife and I were traveling through your beautiful city from Massachusetts to Texas to help our friends that have been devastated by the hurricane Harvey. Our truck had a brake line fail 17 miles out of the city.the names have been changed Iam not looking to sue. We were told at the most it was only be a 2 hour repair. I was a mechanic for the army and I know what to look for when repairing trucks. I looked under my truck when the breaks failed and saw no damages to our under carriage or a brake leak. We had no tools to do any of the repairs to our truck and no knowledge of what needed to do repaired. The manager jet stated that we would be back on the road by closing that was at 3:00 by 4:00 Jet then stated it would take a little longer but if we bought him lunch at his favorite BBQ they would stay a little late and complete the job. We bought jet and the mechanic the number one combo. It was At tops BBQ. After they ate jet said it would take a lot longer and we would need to get a hotel. Jet then Stated to us that they had to close there computer and needed the payment in that was Saturday November 30 2019. We were never given a formal estimate and was charged 1402.90 for the labor. we thought that was the total for the hole job . We were never aware of any extra charges and only told the price when we were ask to pay. We found out latter we were being charged 122.00 per hour. the web site states they only charge 50.00 per hour. It was at this point we starter to feel uncomfortable jet stated to my wife that we were not in a safe area and that tourist have been known to be shot. We were told about a couple that went to grace land and were held up with machine guns a week earlier. And another woman was car jacked at the grocery store just around the corner by a 12 year old boy. I never know he had said this to my wife till we got to the hotel. Thats when my wife broke down in tears. We were at the La Quinta 1236 primacy pkwy. We thought we were at an industrial park it was so deserted. to scared to leave the hotel so we just ordered food in by delivery. First thing Monday we went back to Midas and was told at this point my part had to be special ordered. it would be a few hours most of the day was spent watching delivery men going back and forth they kept ordering the wrong parts. I did not know they removed my new break lines. We were told they had a hard time removing the ABS system and had to cut the lines. the ABS module was new why was it removed I don't know. They were trying to remove the system with out removing the ABS casing trying to take a short cut but striped the screws I know this to be true the mechanic showed me. Making the job twice as long. When the new lines finely did come in I saw our mechanic cutting the new lines with a die grinder. When I asked why he stated he only needed the fittings. I was charged for the new lines and the labor for the day $585.15 Dec 2 2019 We never knew that we were being charged for the damage they were doing till we were asked to pay. We were told the price given to us on Saturday was for everything. At this point in the day it was already late afternoon manager jet asked us so what are we having for lunch today? When I said we don't have any extra money to be buying lunch he looked a little agitated and walked away. jet made a comment that we needed a new transmission it would be 3 days to install at a cost of only $6000.00.There was nothing wrong with my transmission to to my knowledge we drove in just fine it was never mentioned on sat inspection of truck. We had to drive slow when the brake line failed the ABS system took over I believe. It took these guys all day till 5:00 and was never taken out for a test drive. I was handed the keys and was told we should have no problem making it to Texas but I should keep an eye on the transmission. Leaving there shop we didn't make it 10 feet the truck started shaking violently all the dash lights came on. the break pedal went to the floor. my truck was inspected by there own corporation in another town. And was told that it was unsafe to drive. if that was the case why did Midas pass it for inspection . what this Co. doesn't know in for the last 2years me and my wife have spent over 10'000 to completely rebuilt the hole truck from motor,to transmission,shocks brakes all around, exhaust,new brake lines, chassis reconstructed,new belts,hoses ,wires,radiator,fuelpump,alternator,power cooling tower,and other parts,we wanted it reliable we travel a lot. now100% we lost what ever Christmas sprit we have had THANK YOU MIDAS read more

I wanted this opportunity to give a review for this location. Mr Broomfield and staff, on 2 occasions, got on my repair's almost right away. I had a full set of brakes put on in under 2 hours...whereas I would've been without my vehicle all day, possibly deep into the next day. I was (and still are) very satisfied with their work. Then just today, they repaired an attempted vandalism on what I thought was the cat converter, and they determined it was the regulator, made the repairs for under my insurance deductible, and had it ready by 10am the next day...! Went in for slight ticking noise... after they had time to mess under my hood they had me come back in bay to start car to show my problem... upon starting... my car began smoking and belt began shredding. BTW.... why was MY cost for a water pump 260.00, when SAME OE water pump cost at parts store in town is 70.00? Best part... when pulling away... my check engine light is now on! My fiancé has taken her car here several times, but she will not do it ever again. Midas installed a water pump on her car in December. We recently took her car to a different national repair shop for another reason. Before working on the car, the new repair shop noticed the water pump was installed incorrectly which worsened the condition of her car (serpentine belt problem). Spoke with a rep from the Memphis Midas who said we were out of luck since the warranty for the pump was only 3 months. We are 7 months after the installation. Yet, I spoke to a rep from the Midas in my city who said the warranty should have been 12 months. Needless to say, we didn't return to them to fix the issue. I won't be coming here again. I have been coming here for almost 10 years. They've always been kind of upselly, and I've been alright with that from time to time. If an air filter is dirty, it's just dirty and they can swap it out so I don't have to. The last time I was there, the guy at the counter got me for an engine air filter and a cabin air filter. Then he told me that my fuel injectors were dirty. I said fine go ahead. Finally he told me we were done and I paid for everything. The car was still in the bay, and there was a guy in the passenger seat waiting on the computer to finish reading any codes from the vehicle. He told me it would be a minute, so I went back into the lobby. He goes out and talks to the tech, then bursts back into the room and announces like I had just had surprise twin baby boys that "You need a tune-up!" He said that the computer said that my spark plugs were dirty from the dirty fuel injectors. My Spidey-sense for BS was at maximum. I felt that that was plenty enough blinker fluid for me for this visit. I thanked him for their time and said I needed to get moving. He said they'd give me a real good price on it and to come back anytime. I went home and hooked up the car to my own ODB2 reader and ran a full scan and my vehicle reported no codes whatsoever. That was an enlightening moment. I have trusted this place for years and gotten along well enough, but since the guy lied to me about the codes, this decision was made for me. Use caution when dealing when this location. Came in for oil change, stated that they dislike Groupon customers because they made no money. Was told that 410 worth of work was needed. Went forward with repair and car handled and was worse than when dropped off. Found it from local Christian Brothers Auto that I was severely overcharged for simple fix and that the additional services recommended were to take advantage of me. I don't believe in doing reviews really but after being taken advantage of I just won't let it happen. Decent guys working there but 300+ in labor for a 45 min fix was absurd. And tires were not even rotated as part of standard oil change service. If you want your car fixed correctly and for a decent price, be careful when dealing with this location. These people are beyond ridiculous. My fiance came here to get an oil change. He called before to see what the wait time looked like and how much it would be for a REGULAR oil change. He was told $19 plus tax. He drives all the way over there just to be told that "the system" says he needs a full synthetic $80 oil change. Which makes absolutely no since considering he's never had that before. He asked if he could just do the regular and she said she wasn't allowed to do that but she "could do the $35 option" that wasn't there before. He comes back from getting lunch and they tell him that he needs new tires and rotor calibers. Which we knew and have scheduled somewhere else. We told her no thank you. She then proceeded to ask my fiancé how old he was as if he wasn't old enough to make decisions on his vehicle. She told him she has a son his age and would call him stupid for not buying the tires today. Excuse me?! The very next day we were told that we needed an entirely new engine...about 5K..but don't worry, all of the new parts can be transferred to the new motor, they said. Waited 3 hrs for an oil and tire rotation at the Mt Pleasant location on 2/1 with a appointment time. Then the technician came into the waiting room complaining that I had wheel locks on my factory tires and I told him all my tires were stolen. The shop manager Chad told him the key was on the work order. I saw the technician remove the wheel nuts on the passenger right back rear tire but he did NOT rotate any of the tires, so I told Chad the shop manager to question him and of course he said he did. I have 1 new tire on my car and of course it was in the same place. Will not go back to this location. Why would the technician go through the trouble of removing the lugs and then not rotate the tires??? Chad did say he had a technician that just walked out on him was the reason for the long wait. This place is horrible they kept my car over 2 hours for a groupon oil change and then call me back and said the mechanic does not want to do your oil change because they dont feel comfortable do it. They did not car about me having a groupon, they just do work when they want to. And, they were super unfriendly about it. Very rude people, dont give your business to them just go across the street to jiffy lube. That's what I did and they had my oil change in 15 mins. Most affordable place I have found when I need an oil change. Beats the snot out of the other Lube places. DON'T COME HERE. I bought the synthetic package and after changing the oil, my car that has less than 10,000 miles started making a very loud noise. I came back since something must've happened and the guy there who was extremely rude told me that I had to pay 2500 dollars to fix it. I asked what they could do since my car was perfectly fine before this and he started to yell at me. I asked for the owner's number and he proceeded to grab ALL of the business cards and stick them behind the desk. I have never been more mistreated in my life. He was so rude I wanted to cry. I was nothing but nice and just asked what he could do to fix it. My car is now messed up and they didn't have the audacity to let me talk to the owner about the guy's behavior. He said he was manager but the way he acted, he should never deal with customers. I told him about all the reviews on Google where a LOT of people had the same problem as I did when they came in for a simple oil change and he said they were bad customers like me. This is a warning, do not come here. They don't care about customers and just want to scam you so you can spend more money at their company. I hope to never be as mistreated as I was. Best experience ever at an auto service shop. CJ (manager) and Matt (assistant manager) are so nice. They explained what I needed done so that I could really understand. It almost felt like a mini class on car mechanics. And, compared to the dealership or other service shops I have visited, I can get a sweet deal here any day, just on their regular rates. A month later and still don't have my change from Dakota that took my cash and said he gave me my money back Well they have watched the video and NO he did not give me my change. The district manager Kenny told me in Jan 16 that I would get a check in the mail for my refund. Still not here on feb 19. He will NOT return phone calls and my car is still not fixed properly. I have also learned that my hurequested a certain name brand for my parts and was quoted for that brand and did not receive that brand. Got an off name brand. I went to Midas not knowing exactly what was wrong with my car. Against my husband's advice I told them approximately where I thought the issue was. While the mechanic was looking at the car the front office staff were friendly. When the quote came back the guy at the front office didn't look at me directly, but kept circling and fidgeting. I looked at the mechanic through the window and he looked guilty and a little POed. They told me my car needed two new front tires and CV boots. I was a bit surprised about the tires and the CV boots didn't sound right since I wasn't having problems when turning. Anyway, I decided to get a second opinion and there was a part of branch that had gotten stuck under the engine and was causing issues. Needless to say, I am not please!
