Battery going dead so I bought a new one from Autozone. Battery still went dead so I took it to Midas. They said they would have to hook up the diagnostic machine up for $99 I said alright. Here is when the fun started. Nothing showed up which he said was normal for older cars. Why even hook it up then. Then they said the battery was bad so we got a new one from Autozone. Took it home dead battery next day. Took it back they said that battery was bad installed another took it home next day battery was dead. Took back in they said dome lights bad put in new ones took it home dead once again. This went on for four or five times. Each trip was overnight requiring my wife to pick me up before I said enough was enough. Took car home called Midas owner about a refund and he said the alternator was bad and wanted to charge me another two or three hundred to replace it. Unbelievable, the car is in my garage and he can tell the alternator is bad and didn't even have to look at it. He is good. The car only has 95000 miles on it. Ended up taking car to my normal real mechanic in Shakopee and in about a hour he found the door switch needed cleaning, bingo fixed for $183 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!Paid $430 to Midas for exactly nothing except guessing what was wrong. You be the judge! IF YOUR CAR BREAKS DOWN IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING PUSH IT DOWN THE STREET!!!!!!! read more

Meh! Every time I go there they push synthetic oil vs. conventional during an oil change by claiming that is according to manufacturer specs. There is nothing in my owners manual specifying synthetic oil; so suspect they just want the extra $$. read more

don't bother. I called 3 times and without even getting the opportunity to say *anything* the staff threw me on hold just to come back and place me on another hold and ultimately hang up. Management seems nice & knowledgeable but not sure about the workers. Management was informative on current deals and let me know they could fit me in their schedule within a day or two if I wanted new tires. I've recommended this location to family, but I decided to go somewhere else for tires & service unfortunately. I recommend taking your business elsewhere & supporting another business, especially if you're a woman or daughter... I couldn't justify supporting a business that has someone working there with such low respect for women. I'd give 1 star but gave two stars just because management was nice, professional and knowledgeable. read more

Mike is great to work with but his employee McCoy is hands down the best technician. I brought my wife's car to a different shop multiple times to fix it and each time they didn't fix the issue. Brought it here and McCoy (and the rest of the technician) found the problems and fixed them. The price was not out of line. Great shop to go to if you need something done to your vehicles. read more

I would give zero stars because my husband took our Audi in to the shop in which we've frequented often for any work on our vehicles they were given a task to do and stumbled upon something else they asked if we wanted fixed we said go ahead about a week later we're driving and the tire is shaky and making a noise as if it's about to fall off we take the car back to the people who supposedly fixed it and we were told that every bolt in the axel had fallen off and it was about to snap due to them improperly doing their jobs and not to mention we have a warranty with these people who wouldn't even compensate us or discount us for their fu*k up I would not recommend any midas after this bs. And I will be reporting to the better business bureau. read more

Stopped by Midas to assist a friend in paying off the remainder of their bill in order to get their car back that day. I GPS'd myself there, but some reason drove past the place 2x. I for 1) was looking on the wrong side if the street and 2) there is another car place directly next door. Ample parking, so I picked one & went and verified the address. Service: friendly enough, you can tell he isnt a talker, but was professional and nice. I advised what I was there for and for whom, they already called ahead to inform him I was coming. Brought in wife's car for oil change and their tech broke the oil filter cover and they charged ME $75.00 for a new Filter cover. Not really fair as it was never broken in five years of having oil changed at dealership. They wouldn't even go halves on it so we won't be back... read more

I was not even their customer but God forbid you park in middle part of the lot between the 2 businesses, that has no signs posted, to go next door. The kid working came out yelling that i can not park there, threatening to tow my car, and calling me all kinds of names, and got in my face. WIth that not being enough, when my car was pulled out of the shop I was at he came back out again 7 took pictures of my licenses plate. How creepy. Ladies stay away from this shop especially alone. Ver very uncomfortable. He also approched me & the staff at the shop next store, in a erratic behavior.... several times while we were in the parking lot at tires for less. The manager is no better, I went to speak to him, he did not care & did not want to listen to anything I was trying to say to him, & just repeatedly kept saying "well dont park in our parking lot" (again no signs posted stating this is Midas parking lot only) Then he proceeds to step out around the counter and then he got in my sons face also. So I see where the employees think its ok to treat people like this because the owner acts the same. This is Very concerning & disturbing. People are crazy these days. I also contacted corporate about this and specifically told them to NOT give my information out to the store, (corporate complaint line is a 3rd party by the way so dont give them your phone # because.... guess who calls me this morning, the manager at the store still being rude and tells me again "well dont park in my lot" Acting as if his and his employees behavior is acceptable and justified & over a dam empty parking lot, unreal. I have never in my life felt so disrespected and creeped out. Don't send your wives, or daughters there alone. Creeps!! Mike and the guys saved my low mileage, trusty but rusty, 2001 Forester from the scrap heap. They fixed the exhaust pipe on it and now I hope to get many more months, maybe even years out of my little green toad. I love that car and really didn't want to part with it, but I was afraid it was too far gone to be worth the repair. They took a look and gave me a really fair quote and got it done in under an hour. I've been a customer for several years now. I come back time after time because these guys are honest. I asked them to give me an estimate on some body work. They informed me that other shops that specialize in body work don't charge an estimate fee but they unfortunately did at Midas, which is more of a "one-stop for all car problems" type or place. I appreciated the honesty so much that I paid the fee at Midas and asked them to look into it because relationships are important when it comes to auto repair and I can trust these guys. I brought my vehicle into this Midas location for a routine oil change. In the midst of having my oil changed, one of the employees came out to tell me that my break pads were worn down to essentially nothing, and that they'd need to be replaced right away. He put together a quote of what the work would cost at Midas (almost $1,000). I took my vehicle to an auto shop that I've been working with for years to get a second opinion, only to find out that my break pads were essentially good as new, and that they were not in need of a replacement. I would never have gotten an auto repair done at Midas in the first place, knowing that they were likely overcharging me for the service. However, after this situation, I will no longer be going to them for even basic maintenance. I feel blatantly disrespected and targeted for being someone who doesn't know much about cars. What happened was dishonest, sneaky, and unprofessional. I will not be returning, and will encourage others to avoid making the same mistake I did. read more

I've been to this establishment on a couple occasions. They were very helpful and found ways to make 'it work' with the least resources. I had my catalytic converter literally fall off my rust bucket and they were proactive in figuring out a way to salvage existing parts and keep the costs low. The second time I was there was because a broke a tie-rod. Original estimates were very high as they had to quote everything in case additional parts would need replacement. They were able to keep most everything and the final cost was much lower than expected. I trust them and they do great work. Keep it up guys! read more

So I reached out to the Bloomington Midas this past winter because my truck had an exhaust leak. They told me what the issue was, which was the exhaust from the catalytic converter back to the tail pipe was bad. I wanted to go with a different kind of exhaust then their normal replacement exhaust. They had no issue with that and replaced the exhaust. When I picked up the truck it sounded great and the bill was very reasonable for all the work they had to do to do this. I then brought in my wife's truck which was having brake issues. They diagnosed the issue ( I already knew what the issue was before) and they told me what needed to be done which was 100% accurate on their part. Again I had them fix the brakes and when my wife picked her truck up she was absolutely thrilled with the way the brakes worked. Again, their price was reasonable for what they did. Then my truck's brakes were acting up just a few weeks ago. I brought it in to them to have them fix it and the brakes again felt like they did the day I drove it off the showroom at the dealership. Again their price was very reasonable. Now I have them working on my classic car's factory AC that doesn't work and still waiting for it to be completed but they are basically replacing the whole AC system. What I take away from them and the owner Mike is they are honest and do good quality work. I have always had my cars worked on at the dealerships I buy them from. But not anymore, I will be bringing all my vehicles to them whenever I have an issue or just basic maintenance. If I recall correctly, I have been going to Midas on Lyndale since I got my first car when I was 16. It's been at least ten years and I have never gone anywhere else or trusted another shop to service my vehicle. Mike and Jerry are two of the nicest men in the industry. The staff is well educated and as equally kind as their managers. They are very accommodating and are swift to offer one a ride home or to work if needed. I wish all places were as honest as all these gentlemen. Kudos! read more

I went to get my car checked for overheating and they told me it was because of my radiator and it needs to get replaced. They did and I spent almost a grand to have it fixed. After less than a week my car is Having issues again and this time it's high rev's! I just spent so much for repairs, how could they overlooked a serious issue like this? :(( read more

This group of men are the greatest in the business. I can't tell you how many times they have saved me. Big things, little things, dumb questions answered, all of it. If its on a car they know what to do. They have even helped me when I have run into problems traveling by talking to mechanics in other states. Summary: They were dishonest and sneaky. Not going back again. Most important thing when getting your car repaired is to find an honest shop - a place that does not overcharge, and does the work that your car needs. I went there in the hopes of that, but was cheated instead. I am NEVER going back there again. I went there as car's brake light was not working. First, they said it would be $20 to get the bulb changed, which I agreed. But, after some time on the car, they added $42 to replace the buld holder. I said no, as the holder is available for $15. They charged me $20 for the labor anyway, in spite of not doing any work. This is blatant bait and switch and overcharging. I cannot recommend this place to anybody. read more

Avoid this Midas if you can. My experience with them is one of dishonesty and deceitfulness. I took my car in for an oil change. They failed to put the sufficient amount of oil I paid for in the car. 1000 miles later a check engine popped indicating low levels in oil. A quick look confirmed the oil level was dangerously low. I had another shop check it out to ensure there were no oil leaks in the system that would cause the oil level to drop so quickly. No leak was found. The other shop changed the oil again and haven't had a problem since. I should note that this was the first time my vehicle reported a low oil level. Midas's complimentary inspection showed my secondary belts were worn and cracking. Those same secondary belts were replaced less than 5000 miles ago and still look brand new. I suggest getting a second opinion before performing any major repairs at this place. read more

My first encounter with the new owner started out good but ended with disappointment because the owner who I talked to about the rebate of $100.00 when you purchase 4 new shocks or struts which I did put on my truck and he verified I qualified for the rebate he said he would send it in for me. He never sent in the rebate form because I called the rebate company and there was no record of a claim filed with my name. When I asked him what he was going to do to right the wrong he did he told me corporate office had 1 person dealing with the rebates and was backlogged on processing so I needed to wait 4 weeks to see what happens which is a lie rebates are handled by an outside company. He is not a trustworthy man. His business ethics seem to be it's ok to be dishonest and cheat the customer. My previous experience with the previous owner Midas was a good place to go that's not true anymore. I was cheated out of $100.00 because I trusted him to do what he said he would do.He has never offered an apology or to right the wrong he did to me. read more
