I moved to Anaheim from Orlando, Florida recently, and I've not been in the area long enough to pick my doctor, veterinarian or dentist yet. So when my battery nearly died on me a few times (this was a week or so ago), I wasn't sure where to go to have it replaced. So I got on Yelp and poked around a bit, and found this Midas, which, at the time, had two five-star reviews. I called and asked a few general questions, and Omar was very friendly and informative on the phone. I also needed the work done "con pronto!": I had to work that night, and had to be back home in about two hours. I bought the car in, and the battery finally gave in where I parked it, which was NOT where it needed to be. Omar accompanied me out to my car, and back to the counter, where he informed me that he'd have to inspect my ignition system as well (to make sure it was just the battery and NOT anything else). While he went through all this, he was friendly and NEVER "pushy". He quoted me a price and told me he'd have me back on the road in plenty of time to get home. Forty-five minutes later, the work was done for the price I was quoted, and I was on my merry way. For what I had done, the service was EXCEPTIONAL. Go there if you want to gets scammed. Their mechanics are like monkeys swinging hammers on your car! I've had 3 jobs done there, and not one job was done properly. 1) went in with a radiator leak, and told them it was the water pump gasket leaking (as I could see it leaking) Then told me it was the radiator, and installed a cheap aftermarket one for double the price. when I got the truck back it leaked more then ever. took it back immediately and told them they didn't fix it, and then they replace the water pump like i asked. 2) year and a half later - The Radiator started to leak. I now had found an excellent mechanic, and he told me the radiator was cracked and had to be replaced (a radiator should last more then a year and a 1/2) AND my new mechanic charged me $210 for the new radiator, not $449 like Midas did the first go for a worse radiator. 3) before the radiator fiasco came up, went there to get them to swap the brakes on my other vehicle, a car, and now the care has a swishing noise. Brake job not right! The have the "Midas Touch" at taking money out of your wallet. Check around, there are far better independent mechanics in the area. I have always had reservations about this place but decided to give them a change this past Saturday. Worst decision I could've made bringing my truck to Midas and I wish 0 stars was an option. I dropped my truck off in the morning to have my brakes looked at as I had noticed they were starting to feel worn down. I had some confidence with this shop because the manager seemed knowledgeable and helpful. I was headed home when I received a phone call from James (Manager) and he asked me if I stole my license plates from another vehicle. I told him no and he at that moment realized he had taken my license plate number down incorrectly. This seemed like an honest mistake so it didn't bother me much. About an hour later he called and told me that what he found was bad. My brake pads were down to nothing and my rotors were too thin to be turned and reused. I asked how much repairs would be and I was told it would cost nearly $1,000.00 to fix the issue. This is a ridiculous amount of money so I told him that I unfortunately could not afford it. Instantly his mood changed from being nice and helpful to very rude and short with me. Understandable because that's a lot of money to not have coming into his shop. I went to pick up my truck an hour later and from inside the shop I heard my truck barely start and when it did it was a horribly hard start (My battery and alternator are both pretty new). When the mechanic backed my truck out of the shop he left my parking brake on... As if i wasn't having brake problems already... I had to leave so I left my truck in the parking lot and took my keys with me. When I came back to take the truck home it wouldn't start. I had absolutely zero power going anywhere in my truck. The manager came out and helped start the truck and claimed to not have went under the hood. I gave him a piece of my mind after already having horrible service and now much truck barely starts and my RPMs were all over the place. I live a short distance from the shop and when I pulled up to the house my motor shut off. I limped my truck to another shop of which I will not name. The mechanic there found my battery was shorted out and my throttle body had grease on it. Mt throttle is electric and when static electricity is exposed to it, it shorts the battery and will make the motor run horribly. This is definably the worst experience I have ever received at an automotive shop and would not recommended anyone to ever get their vehicles serviced here. This place will try and rip you off! I know a little about cars but of course, not enough to be a mechanic nor do I have the proper tools. However, I heard my brakes squeaking, so I decided to take it in to get checked out. They quoted me $1,000 to get my brakes and disc's changed?!?! Right then, I knew they were trying to rip me off! Went to a local mechanic to get a 2nd quote, $200 to changes my pads. Nothing else was needed! Go figure. These guys must have read the reviews here and decided they weren't being pushy enough. My last visit left me extremely upset and disappointed. In my previous review I raved about how nice they were here, and how they didn't push me into things I didn't want. My last trip, however, was completely different. I had a coupon for 19.99 Oil Change & Tire Rotation, which they actually had stopped offering, but I saved it and it hadn't expired yet. So maybe this is why they were trying to swindle me- I was getting too good of a deal. I went to the store to wait for them to finish, and I get a call from them before they're done. The guy tells me that my air cabin filter is really dirty and should be replaced. I asked him the price and it was somewhere in the vicinity of $50. My boyfriend informed me this is way too expensive, we could buy one elsewhere and install it ourselves for about 10 bucks. So I tell the guy no thank you. Him: "Well if you don't do it your engine is going to get really hot... [something about fire... blah blah blah.. I can't really remember what he said but it sounded ridiculous] Me: "Well, no thank you I really don't want it right now." Him: "Well you won't be able to use your air conditioner or [blah blah blah goes on forever about something crazy] Me: "I really don't want it right now." Him: "Well then you're not going to use your air conditioner?" Me, very frustrated: "Nope I'm not going to." He then got flabbergasted that his sales techniques weren't working and dropped it for the moment. Then I went to go pick up my car when it was done and they have it sitting on the table so I can look at it. I still don't care because I want to do it myself, and I tell them so, but they keep pushing me, telling me it's not going to be any cheaper (I found them for $10-20 on amazon later that day). And this time it was the guy working on my car that originally called me, and the man running the desk who I thought was super nice on my previous visit. I still didn't take it and at this point I'm getting furious at how they won't let it go. Anyways, I still haven't changed it (it's not that important and my air conditioner doesn't smell, which is all that would cause) and I'm due for another oil change but I literally have ANXIETY about going back here. Do not come by here unless you want to wait 3 hours for an oil change ( story later) or want to get scammed. I had my family mechanic change my suspension and brakes so I went for a routine alignment. I stop by and the guy at the counter was friendly and told him exactly what I needed to get done. As I was waiting there was a gentleman sitting next to me talking about how stressed he was for waiting THREE hours for a routine oil change. You can go to Jiffy Lube and get it done in less than 30 minutes. Poor guy was on a time crunch to make a bunch of errands and such. He leaves then then guy at the counter tells me that my suspension is off and blah blah. One thing was leaking and so forth. I knew exactly what was leaking but nothing major and tries to give me an estimation of about 800 dollars and so forth. I'm thinking to myself " Hell no." I promptly leave since the guy knew he couldn't get me to have his guys work on my car and then I go ask my mechanic after leaving Midas and he tells me that guy was trying to scam me and getting my shocks fixed because a " part " was missing. After much investigation it wasn't a part that was missing rather than my bearing on my driver side were a bit loose but do-able. If these guys knew any better. Unsure if the gentlemen working there didn't know exactly what they were doing but I was quoted 4,000$ to fix my car and was told lot of work needed to be done. I was able to take my car to a whole new/ different mechanic shop and paid less than 200$ to fix the issue and it's been running well ever since. DONT TRUST THEM. GET A SECOND OPINION!!! James was my hero today. I got a flat & was turned away by 2 others tire services (goodyear (more like goodbye) and firestone) because of the hastle of paper work and approval for fleet vehicle. Troy and all the guys there are amazing , I took my car in without an appointment just walked in to the service desk and asked for an oil change. I was attended very politely and quickly. Troy is exceptionally knowledgeable on everything cars, I didn't have to wait that long at all for my oil change and they also did a courtesy check of everything else on my vehicle . After a bad execution of the service provided and poor attendance of the official, I was able to solve the balancing and tire problem of the car in another store. Because the Midas employee said he could not do anything. Being q, was in warranty. I had problem 4 days after the service. Just got back from Midas and Ray was a big part of my 5 star review, 1st time visit. Been to many shops and they did not have my battery and they said they would have to wait for another shipment and Ray told me and checked if they had the battery for my 2016 Ford Escape. Same thing, they did not, so ray goes back in the office and whoops out this huge book and starts flipping pages to see if there was another battery compatible and the answer came back No. So he makes a phone call to a nearby warehouse to see if they had one and finally a solid Yes. On top of that ray had them deliver the battery within 30 minutes. Gave me the pricing and it was smooth sailing from there. I was in the lobby for an hour and ray gave that same service to everyone in there plus he helped me get approved for a Midas credit card which I was able to use on the battery. 6 months no interest. Made an appointment with them for an oil change and coolant flush also requested my tires be rotated. They told me 3 hour wait. Went back 3 hours later still not done. Not only that they didn't rotate my tiers. They said the thread was even all around so they didn't do it even tho I requested it smh they made me wait longer to do the tier rotation and while I'm watching them do it they didn't do the proper front wheel tier rotation they literally only put the tiers in the front to the back and that's it rear wheels are suppose to cross to the front smh never go here read more

Since my last review about Midas in Anaheim, my brakes tried giving out again this morning less than 10 miles from work. A friend of mine & I went in on Wednesday 9/22/21 ti see if they would at least take some ownership in my brakes not wanting to work since they replace them on 5/22/21. Of course they wouldn't due my car not doing for them. They have not taken responsibility for their actions. We spoke with Dennis & he lied to weather they still have the brakes I brought back. 3 times he said they still had the brakes & when my friend asked him to put the brakes back on my car, Dennis said that they didn't have them any more. The brakes were still under warranty prior to me taking my car some were else & Midas should have honored that warranty being that I started having problems with the brakes after they changed out the brake pads & discs. They have not proven to me that they are not at fault. What i want Midas to do is own up to what they did & reimburse me for the brake pads that I brought back. Also they need to reimburse for rental car that i will have for this week & any costs that I might have to fix Midas's mistake. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! They will lure you in with the offer of a free engine scan if your check engine light is on then tell you they need to diagnose the problem. Then they charge you $95.00 an hour for that little service and tell you it takes 2 hours! Once that is done they will give you a list of needed parts that are marked up over 200%. Took my car in for a simple oil change and ended up needed a huge repair done (I was aware of it before hand through Ford but they wanted to charge an arm and a leg). Ray, and all the staff, were EXTRAORDINARILY kind and helpful. You could tell they wanted business and they were there to help you, other than turning you away, or being short. Ended up needing control arm replacement and Ray immediately helped me as much as he could, as this was a very costly repair. I sincerely appreciate everyones help and customer service. We took our family car to this location for an oil change and spark plugs and they signed us up for a full toon up that we never asked for and in the process broke the distributor and never notified us until we came to pick up the the vehicle they explained they broke the distributor during the tune up and illegally replaced it with another distributor without notifying us and charged us full price for a new distributor and the labor to install even tho they broke it and never notified us of the damage and never received our consent to replace the vehicle part which is illegal by California law for any repair shop to replace parts with out first notifying the customer and receiving there consent which they never did. The general manager Ray included a lot of random things that the car did not need like a radiator flush and lied to us about our brakes and did a brake flush for no reason it did nothing for the car and felt the exact same when we told him it felt the same he now recommended we replace the brake master cylinder trying to get more money out of us. We called and talked to ray the next day after reviewing the invoice and the things we had bin charged for he was beyond rude and hostile giving us attitude and refused to take any responsibility for the vehicle damage that he admitted his mechanic broke during the tune up and was unwilling to help us or give us a refund and refused to give us corporates number or the damage claim number or the owners phone number when we asked multiple times he refused and said he'd call the owner himself and refused to let us talk to them. He later called us and left a voicemail that we'd be having a meeting with the owner tomorrow at 12 when we arrive at 12 he changes the time to 230 makes us wait 2 and a half hours very unprofessional we come back at 230 sharp only to have to wait another 45 minutes for the owner who was in the office the whole time. The owner came storming out of the office giving us a dirty look as she came to get us she didn't even introduce her self she just said "go to the office" in a rude tone very clearly showing she was annoyed that we were there she was very unprofessional and beyond rude yelling at us and threatening to throw us out of the shop if we didn't and I quote " shut up and listen" after we asked her multiple times to stop yelling at us and to please lower her voice she said and I quote " this is how I talk im just loud if you don't like it you can get out of my shop" she was very aggressive and hostile the owner is worse than the manager the owner Ally or Alison is psychopathic with anger issues and a very short temper she is very hostile and will try to make personal attacks and comments. When letting her know I also work on cars and I know how they work she said and I quote " why didn't you do the job your self then? since your so smart your just complaining cause you couldn't do the job yourself" which has nothing to do with the fact of the matter which is them breaking a part and making the customer pay for the part and labor when it was illegally installed to begin with without the customers consent she kept making rude comments that made no sense to the fact of the matter. The mechanic who worked on the car also refused to give me his name and was calling me a "Puto" and "cabron " to his fellow co workers saying and I quote "y este puto que" and I quote "pinche cabron gavacho" as I was in the Midas parking lot in my phone little did he know I know Spanish and understood every word I later found out the mechanics name it was Ramiro he fat with a beard and tattoos on one arm. Do not come here unless you want to be lied too and scammed and cheated out of your hard earned money and want to have your car parts broken by them because they will try to charge you for the parts they brake and the labor it cost to install and the manager and owner will refuse and deny any responsibility to any damage done to customers vehicles. I'm not the only customer they have done this too if you read all the 1 star reviews they are all similar cases and there good reviews are by fake profiles that were created by associates you can tell by the profile just look at the yelp reviews and you will see everyone says the same things about this place. I came in for an oil change and ended up getting more work done. They honored the coupon online so, that was good. However, when we got the recommendation reports it showed that my car needed major fixing. Mechanic said it needed a number of things from the broken radiator cap to the engine mount breaking off. He also mentioned that it looked like it hasn't been tuned at all but my brother takes good care of his car as far as the basic necessities, he gets a tune up every so often as the mileage hikes up and needs it's recommended tune up. They also recommended the tires to be replaced because they had signs of wear and tear, bad enough for a blow out. I was a little hesitant to move forward with anything else. Even if the mechanic showed me what was wrong, I'm not sure what to look for as I am not a mechanic or auto-savvy. We decided to get the oil changed and the driving belt. The gentleman in the front got us a 3yr warranty on the belt. I thought that was a real good deal and because of that I gave this place a better star rating. read more

After the shell shock if having to pay $72 for a synthetic oil change... the owner was kind enough to change my broken rear break light for free. My oil change took a little over a hour. I took my car into them a few years ago. I knew what was wrong with it and I told them so. The guy couldn't accept the fact that I being a woman knew what was wrong. He goes I doubt it's that. Let the professionals look at it. Sure enough I was right, but he had added that I needed to replace two more things and it was going to cost over $1500. I said no and took my car home. I ended up taking my car to a family owned shop. And guess what I only needed to replace my power booster. Not the abs, power booster and the master cylinder. And it only cost me $368. Middle of the Day, power steering on my car fails. I stop at the nearest mechanic shop which happens to be Midas. I get a quote for $600.00. They start the work and when I came back to pick up my car, they only charged $150. The claimed that the pump was good and they only had to switch the belts.
