I have been taking my car to Midas for a few years now. They are always friendly and professional and FAST. This last time, they redid my brakes both front and back, which was about $800, but guaranteed for life. So there's that. I had wanted them to recharge the a/c, but they said the compressor was broken, and it would cost $1500 to replace it. I decided to take my car to my regular mechanic (I go to Midas for brakes/guarantee) and my mechanic said it was the compressor, but it only cost me $800! So that is why I am giving 4 stars...the compressor quote was ridiculously expensive! read more

It is a shame I can't leave 0 stars. I went to them to get an estimate on a maintenance check up on my car. After spending a little while there they told me they were going to charge me about the double what the dealership said they would charge me. They tried to tell me that the spark plug the for my car would cost about $150. This is so not even close to being true. The dealership said they would charge me less than $200 for the maintenance check up including the change the spark plugs. read more

Came here to get an oil change and too see if they could check my brakes because they are squeaking they said the normally charge 45 dollars because they have to take the wheels off but fortunately because my tires are big u can see thru my wheels the guy was nice enough to come outside too look. He came and looked and let me know that my brake pads were worn away and I needed to get them all fixed they were gone. The price would be about 400 to get all of them fixed. I do have regular mechanic but he is deep in garden grove who I saw a month ago and he replaced a rotor and let me know my brakes were fine so I was very confused how in a month all were bad. And there oil change for a full synthetic oil change was 79.00 which I felt was way too much. He gave me me his card and I left. I talk to my mom who gave me the name of a trusted mechanic up the street and she told me to get a second opinion. I am so glad I did I went to firestone on Lincoln and he gave me a full synthetic oil change for 48.00 dollars and checked my brakes and he told me I had 70 percent paid on my front ones and 40 percent on my back ones and there was no safety reason to replace them. And that maybe were I got the brakes the person who originally put them on used inferior pads and that's why they squeak but I can hold off for awhile and just make sure next time I get name brand brake pads. I'm so happy I got that second opinion if I had trusted them I would have been out 500 dollars today. I don't know how they fix things but I suggest if you are going to go to them with a problem don't take there word for it get a second opinion before the work is done so u can be sure and save money cause there is way cheaper places to go. read more

James is the real deal! He is honest, kind and he will let you know how long you can hold off on fixing something if you can't afford it right now. The prices are fair and James may even go lower than the others. I have been taking my van to James for several years, and most times he can drive me back home and pick me up from home when my car is ready. Ladies, are you always wondering whether to trust the auto dealer? Well, I have found James to be fair and spot on diagnosing the issue and price. James is dedicated to his community. One day I was there having my car worked on and while I was in the waiting room another customer told me she was going on a mission trip to the Philippines. We talked and she asked me for a donation. I politely declined, however, James made a donation to her local church right there on the spot? I am truly impressed with his generosity and commitment to his customers and community. Alex does most of the work on my car and he is AWESOME! He is professional and he knows his stuff. This place is terrible. I had Midas warranty for one of my car parts. When I first got the part replaced with the Midas part it was free for them to check the problem, but when I need to get it checked under warranty they want to charge me $95/hour. James was also trying to play it off like it wasn't the problem with the part. This is such BS. read more

I went to this store on 6/5/17 and got there and asked to do balance and alignment and change two front tires of the car. On June 8 my tire emptied all over and again had to return to the establishment. They said nothing had happened. I also complained about the balance, because the car is still with a huge vibration. They just filled the tire. They acted in bad faith with me because they said the vibration was because of the brake pad. And then I returned because the vibration was enormous. And they said it was a piece that was old. And we could do nothing more about alignment and balancing. The service sucked. It was coming from work and the tire was empty again. I got there today and showed it to him. And he said he could do nothing. He said I had to buy another tire. I left there and went to another facility to really know what had happened and the person said that the wheel was in trouble and that problem had to be corrected when he changed tires so the tire was always emptying. Please anyone who reads this message does not go in your place because there they are not good natured. I was tricked that the tire had a guarantee that the service was guaranteed and did not give me any guarantee of service. They are really incompetent. I've been a customer at the Anaheim location more than 5 years. On yesterday, 03/28/16, I had my 02 Avalon dropped off by a family member. I called James J. ahead of time to let him know that I would have the car dropped off, and asked if he would communicate with me via my cell. James called me with a diagnosis and pricing before proceeding with the work. He kept me posted throughout the entire process. He agreed to wait for me to pick up my car, although I wouldn't arrive until after business hours. Upon my arrival, he did not rush through the process. He took the time to explain brake pad and rotor measurements. He had the actual rotors and parts available to ensure that I understood what was going on with my car. James provided excellent customer service from the beginning to the end. I will recommend this location to all my family and friends! James went above and beyond the call of duty. I found this place on Yelp so I decided to check it out. I called at 2:30pm and made an appt for the same day at 4pm. When I got there Omar helped me and he was really nice. He asked me what services I needed and I told him then they took my keys and told me they would call me once they knew if my brakes needed to be changed or not. Sure enough my front brakes needed to be changed and he told me I had to change some things for my rear brakes too but that I could wait If I didnt have the money. He also infomred me that I will need to change my axel and gasket panel in the future. I was there a little bit over an hour and they did the following - oil change ($20 with coupon), changed the brake pads (lifetime waranty), changed the shoes for the brakes, changed the drums for the brakes, inspected my whole car, and I paid $360 for everything. I dont know if the prices are expensive, but I know they they do a good job and that I will definitely be going back! They were very helpful, and friendly with my son, they even gave him a balloon. i had a coupon that i got from walgreen for an oil change for $19.99 with a free tire rotation, i called them and i spoke with james, told him about the coupon and ask for an appointment, he told me i dont need one because it was not busy that noon on a friday. i drove the extra miles cause it seems that was a good deal, i use to bring my car to a different shop which is closer to my place for years but this time i wanna try Midas. when i got there, James told me that since i had a bigger car (toyota sequoia), the price will be $ 39.99, and he can not honor the coupon. i mention to him that i called him before i showed up, told him everything including the coupon, drove farther but when i was there, he said that the price would be higher? i was so upset to him especially when he tried to tell me that they dont deal with coupons comming from walgreen, he said he controls the issuing of coupons? i know then that he is lying, in disgust, i told him "you are full of sh**t.!!", and left. i drove back to my old mechanic which i showed them the coupon and ask them if they can match the price, the manager (Todd) at advance car care (Good Year) on brookhurst ave (near ball road), said, sure , why not?, they work on my car, change my oil, rotate my tires with no additional cost. this guys did a very good job, its very hard to find honest and good mechanics nowadays.! i would suggest that those who have this coupons from walgreen, dont waste your time going to Midas, James will tell you that he did not authorize those coupons, bring it to your favorite shop and let them match the price. read more

0 stars!!!! i wish there was an option for that. and about james??? wow, ive noticed that all the 5 star reviews include james in it. we're you guys offered a 50% off deal to check in and write 5 star reviews???? because i've met him myself personally, and he is not anything like what these yelp reviewers have written. i personally dont spend my time to write reviews, bad or good, but i just had to post one because my review about midas. it was the worst experience of my life and cost my car. i had an oil change done, and it seemed okay until i drove off and that same night my check engine light came on. my car would not start it would just die on me. i would have to rev my engine for about 2 mins to get it to start. i went back to midas the next morning and spoke to james and told him that my check engine light came on after i got it serviced here. i wasnt angry or speaking in a rude tone, but he was giving me attitude and denying responsibility because he kept saying how it was not their fault. that for oil changes they only "do the oil change and check the air filter" ( or secretly just put more damage on your car so you keep coming back for service .. thats if your really stupid lol!) he ran the codes and all cylinders misfired. he kept raging on at me saying how there would be no way it was their fault. i asked him to check anyway. we popped the hood and the air fliter was completely off, not screwed in. then he started to tone down his attitude and giving excuses knowing that it was his staff that did not screw it on. as he was screwing it back on all he said was that this isnt the problem but it could be. after starting the engine the car was perfect. but after that was done, there was no apology or nothing, not even taking responsibility for his staff's screwup. i drove my car off the lot pretty upset that i had to waste my time. but then about 2 weeks later my check engine light came on. my radiator was cracked on the top of the radiator. im 100% sure his staff cracked it on their own, because it was a crack about 3 inches long. haha, would i ever even come back here again? no, im thinking about filing a law suit. but its not even worth my time and money, so james, since i know your reading this,( beacuse the 5 star reviewers only have 1 review under their belt, which is most likely you putting those bogus 5 star reviews on, i hope you know you cost me a shit ton of money. ill make sure your business goes down. read more
