I went in to this Midas store just to get a oil change, I was talking to the Dm Bobby and he was very nice, calm and informative. After my oil change Bobby asked me if he could " show me a few things about my car". Bobby showed me that my brakes where shot and my tires were on there way out as well. If i went anywhere else ( and i have) they would have just done what i asked but this team went above and beyond for me. Now this was definitely something i was expecting to pay or do. I called back the next day and spoke to the manager Robin, he as well was very nice and informative. After getting more details i made a appointment but i still wasn't ready to spend that kind of money. so 4 hours after i was supposed to be there he Robin called me. Robin wasn't calling to see why i didn't show up, he was just asking me if i was okay because of everything that is going on with my car. So now feeling better on about the purchase i made an appointment and showed up, thats were i met Chase, this guy made the experience for me. not only was he friendly but he held a nice convo, was very personable and made every one happy and smile. not only is he perform the best customer service i have every seen ANYWHERE but it was very busy. Chase kept up with the traffic and every interaction the customer smiled and laughed . you guys just made a life time customer. thank you read more

We called this particular Midas for a muffler repair, and they were able to get us in extremely quickly. Upon first inspection, we were quoted a price. We then decided, since the price was so very reasonable, to get an oil change and new wiper blades as well. We were quoted prices on these as well. Turns out a few things changed once they got to looking at our truck a little closer. First was our truck uses 7 quarts of oil and not 5 like most trucks...but Bob said he would not charge us for the 2 quarts as he did not quote them to us. Secondly was the pipe needed for our muffler repair was going to actually be shorter than the one he quoted...so he adjusted the price for this as well. Every step of the way, we were called out and shown what was going on along with an extensive explanation by both Bob and the mechanic working on our vehicle. While we were there, an older woman came in and was cold (it was a cooler, rainy day in October) and Bob turned on the heat for her and also explained how to use their Keurig coffee maker and offered to make her a cup of something warm. I'd also like to let Bob know, the baked beans WERE the best ever!!!! Thanks for the advice! We will definitely be back to this establishment for all our vehicular needs. read more

Very appreciative of Bob's referral from the East Greenbush Midas to the 1722 Central Avenue, Colonie Midas. I was in dire need of a flat tire repair, especially because I was going out of town a couple of hours away. The assistant manager, Shawn, set up the appointment for me while I was at the EG location. These managers truly have teamwork and genuinely care about their customers. Shawn took care of my scheduled oil change, fixed the tire in no time flat (no pun intended), and as requested made certain all my other tires had the proper air pressure and all fluids were full to ensure I would have a safe trip. While my CRV was being serviced, I had the most pleasant experience in their customer area. There were FREE cold beverages and FRESHLY MADE popcorn available to me and the TV was better than the one I have at home! Shawn is so nice. My wish is that every customer service person could be as friendly and courteous as him. When driving my car I must say it rode so well and I felt so confident that I finally found a place that I could believe in. You bet I will make my next appt here. Great job Shawn. Thank you! read more

Big thanks out to the staff at Colonie Midas. David Brayman and his crew provided me with superior service. I called in the morning and described the sounds my wife's van was making and the way it felt to drive. David said he would be able to have it looked at that day. Tech John Tibaldi (sorry if I misspelled) was able to identify what needed repair. I told them i needed to be back on the road in time to get my kids from school. They assured me the job would be done. Parts were ordered and repairs were done in time. I really appreciate all they did getting my wife's van back on the road. All in time for me to get back home safely and bring my children to their sports lessons. Thank you, thank you, thank you.. I would highly recommend the Colonie Midas. I think the address is 1722 central ave. Its the one off 2W of the northway. Michael Maiorella read more

Normally I am weary of chain repair places but these guys were top notch. The folks were friendly and the waiting area is clean and pretty decent with wifi, coffee, and television. I came in without an appointment for front brakes and an alignment on a Friday Afternoon. I had to wait a while but I was pretty impressed they didn't attempt to sell me a lot of things I didn't need. One of my calipers was slightly damaged, and they managed to fix it instead of trying to push me to spend several hundred dollars for a replacement. They gave me a pretty fair deal- brake line service, front pads, alignment, fixed a caliper, and even cleaned up my rotors to get rid of the annoying shuffling sounds- for $420. Will return in the future for oil changes and minor repairs for sure. read more

Re: The Midas shop on Central ave in Colonie , NY. On May 16, 2017 I finally had an honest experience bringing my 2010 Rav 4 to the service Rep. Steve. I thought I was going to need a muffler or tailpipe it was making such a racket . They performed a free exhaust system checkup and found that I only had two rusted bolts on the heat shield which they replaced . Free of charge. I have had two services there and they both have been a ten. I am making it a point to advise family and friends to Go to this Midas shop. There are not many places left that are loyal and honest . But these guys are. Thank you for your honesty and I will go Back again as they do all kinds of mechanical repairs. With my Loyalty Richard D.Tarullo read more

Brought my truck these folks to have previous Midas work (different shop) fixed correctly. The manager was extremely patient with me as I explained what the problems were. I had to leave the truck overnight and was without a ride home. The franchise owner graciously drove me 25 miles to my home. John, the other manager picked me up at work to bring me to the shop. They replaced a wheel bearing and did an alignment. The previous work trashed a brake rotor so they replaced both rotors at no charge. Customer service was outstanding and they really stood by their commitment to customers as representatives of Midas. Michelle, Jonathan, and Robert went above and beyond. I drove over a nail that completely punctured my tire. I went straight to Midas. The tire was flat by the time I got there. They took me in right away, fixed the tire and had me out of there in about an hour and a half from walking in during their busiest hours (The tire was pretty bad. I thought it was going to be a lot longer - I went to other places in the past and the wait time was MUCH different). Jess at the front desk was great - absolute professional! The customer service he provided was outstanding. I'm definitely coming back because of him and the service that was provided. I would recommend this location to other people as well. read more

After my visit, I was most certainly pleased to have been recommended to bring my car to this location! The staff is all very friendly and helpful. When they discovered some issues with my brakes that needed fixing, the manager was able to give me a bundle and reduce some of the costs. Moreover, the brakes on my car had been making strange noises for over a year and previous mechanics had told me it was a non-issue. After doing these fixes, the noise is gone! I was very happy the team here worked with me to make my car safer and tried to help me out with the expense. read more

I came in for an oil change and to diagnose what was wrong with my headlights, which neither one of them would work. They determined that both of my headlights blew at the same time. I had just had them replaced in August, and I had a warrantee on them. The manager called advanced auto parts for me and had the new light bulbs sent over. I have to say, this has been the easiest fix to a warrantee problem I have ever had! Thank you Midas! read more

I went into Midas yesterday for new tires; although I left with much more than just tires. I was greeted with not only respect but with kindness by both Shawn Thurber and Steve Vincent. They took their time explaining to me what else was wrong with my vehicle and even allowed me to see it for myself. Also, there was an older gentleman working on my car, he was equally as great, I just didn't get a chance to catch his name. read more

Great place to service your car, I just got my tire replaced after a blowout, staff was very professional, gave me a great discount and also suggested all other repairs and also showed me the parts in question and explained why they needed to be fixed. Overall a great experience, definitely recommend coming here over any other repair shops. read more

I hate nothing more than putting money into my old clunker... but when the experience is made that much better because of the people that work there, you can't ask for much more! Steve and Dave were the best... always a pleasure to talk to and most importantly, helping me out when I really needed it! You guys are awesome!! Thanks again! read more

We had the best possible service, kind and considerate in a stressful time. We had flat tire on the way back to Montreal. Pep boys would not help us until the next day. The nice man at Midas took us in 20 minutes before closing and fixed it in 15 minutes. Thanks to him, we made it back home safely. Very grateful. read more

I have been bringing both of my vehicles to this location for over 3 years now and they are always honest and very friendly. I just brought my vehicle in for some work and they went and fixed a couple extra things that were nagging annoyances for free. I would recommend this place to all friends and family. read more

I love this place, everyone is always so nice. Especially Bob* He always looks out for me and lets me know what is going on with my car and explains it to me so I understand. There's plenty of other shops closer to my house but this one is worth the extra few minutes on the road. Exceptional service. read more
