An interior drain was installed to fix the water problem. I also had a sump pump pit that needed to be dug deeper. The bottom of the pit had a 6 inch concrete base that needed to be removed. From start to finish, I always felt like I was in great hands! Prior to and during the work, the company was honest and responsive. They started on time and from there, the work went smoothly. The guys who worked on my home were friendly, diligent and professional. I also appreciate the clean work throughout the entire job. Without any hesitation, I would recommend Grant Renne and Sons Inc.!

I had the pleasure of having Grant himself come out and look over my basement. I had bought the…read morehouse two weeks ago and knew there was water in the basement. I had patched up the one main hole but had concerns about the cracks in the walls (which the foundation inspector told me I needed to dig out and fill in with epoxy). Grant spent the next twenty minutes with me schooling me in the simplicity of "how water gets into a basement." He walked around my basement and outside and pointed out the things that needed to be addressed (window wells, grading, guttering, pitch of driveway, etc.). All in all, he was very straightforward in telling me that I needed to work on those things and work backwards. That this was a simple process of eliminating the issues of why water is coming into a basement and there was no need for his company to do anything at this time. I could have hugged him. I had been preparing myself to ask whether he wanted an arm or leg as payment and he let me keep both along with dignity. It is such a blessing to find a company in a trade that is so honest. I plan on making a point of telling anyone who will listen about my experience and if and when I still am having issues with my basement I know exactly who I will be calling.

We had two other bids, and the one we thought we'd go with never got back to us with the formal estimate, so a friend recommended Spartan. Their estimate was fair and the work they promised was what we expected. Our front and back walls were cracked and shifting and one side wall was starting to bow. Despite our concern that the side wall needed a lot of work like the other two, they told us repeatedly that the wall was not cracked and shifting and only needed braced to keep it in place. They raised and straightened the front and back walls, placed 14 braces on the three walls, and waterproofed, filled, and injected all of the cracks. All of this came with a lifetime guarantee - that stays with the house when we sell - which is what sold us. Knowing we can show potential buyers that guarantee eases every bit of anxiety I had about the repair when selling the house. The workers were very nice and very professional, even to my retired neighbor who hung out and watch them work all day. The guy that originally came out to do the bid also visited every day to make sure everything was going well and even emailed after the first big rain to make sure we didn't have any water coming into the three areas we'd had problems with. 100% satisfied customer that highly recommends Spartan Foundation Repair!

With that knowledge I can honestly say that PST Engineering has been one of the best decision I have ever made. Instead of assuming that the property you are purchasing looks good so it must be good. I decided to play it safe and actually know for a fact and have some peace of mind forever going forward. Well, would you know it the property that I made an offer on had about $70k in unseen fixes to be done? Thanks to PST, that property is not my responsibility. I currently could not be happier in my current residence, which is Certified Solid by PST. It also doesn't hurt that they are nice people and will work with you on whatever you need, simply ask them. Call them before you pay for something to be fixed that does not need fix your problem.

Frank is very personable, explained all areas of interest which would raise flags, which items should be given immediate attention and others which were normal settling such as vertical/horizontal cracking. His suggestions of benefits such as additional attic insulation, drainage away from the foundation, etc., put us at ease that nothing serious was noticed, just maintaining good maintenance practices. Frank made sure all our questions were answered and stated not to hesitate to contact him for any issues in the future prior to hiring someone. Highly recommend 'PST ENGINEERING'.

If you have a serious waterproofing or foundation problem requiring professional work, Windler…read morewould be a good choice. Having lived in this house with a walkout basement for about 20 years, we had not anticipated the basement water leakage problem that occurred a few months ago after an exceptionally heavy thunderstorm. The affected area of the wall was about 10 feet wide. We called two companies for advice and estimates. One was Windler in Lawrence. The other was a company in KC. Windler sent its general manager, Patrik Trautloff. Patrick explained what would have to be done to fix the source of the problem. The work would require excavation to the footing in the area of the leak, installation of external waterproofing on that area of the foundation wall, and replacing the external drain tile in that area of the footing. The other firm's bid was somewhat less expensive and could be scheduled more rapidly. Basically it would deal with the effects of the problem inside the basement instead of the cause outside. Since we have a finished walkout basement, we wanted the cause fixed. We contracted with Windler. The firm arrived as scheduled with an impressively professional crew. They completed the work in two days while using a mini-excavator machine for the excavation. If you want cheap cosmetic repair of the interior of your basement, you might want to use a different firm. But if you want real professionals to fix the cause, Windler would be a good choice.
