It's with disappointment that I'm updating my review of Mission Valley ROP, and deducting a star…read more As a graduate of American High School and Mission Valley ROP, having taken 3 different courses through ROP, and even earned college credit in one of them, I felt fortunate to have had the pleasure of taking Business Ownership, Marketing, and Law Enforcement. However, it has come to my attention, that the current students at American High are currently without an Instructor for Culinary Arts, therefore the students are being "taught" by "substitutes". I get that teacher shortages are happening everywhere, and we are just getting through a global pandemic, but at the same time it's not like the previous Instructor Chef Rosen, decided to retire last minute. They knew well in advance, and you would think they would have been able to get an instructor before the school year started. If for some reason, they weren't able to find an instructor, which seems to be the case now, why even offer the course this year at all until an instructor is found? I've heard that students are trying switch out of the class and into other classes because they don't have an instructor, and are still being taught by substitutes. It's such a shame many of these students who are seniors, many of which who are coming out of distance learning, signed up for Culinary Arts, yet are being taught by substitutes. They probably aren't even being taught much or learning much about Culinary Arts. I hope Mission Valley ROP is doing everything they can to get a qualified instructor to teach Culinary Arts at American, as there are 4 Culinary Arts classes and 1 Event Planning course offered at American. If anything, perhaps they should ask Chef Rosen to come back until a permanent instructor can be found? Just to show the impact of taking an ROP class, not only did I earn College Credit for one of the courses I took, to this day, I still stay in touch with one of my instructors, Sergeant Crawford. Unfortunately, the other instructor I had, Mr. Gary Marsh sadly passed away a few years ago.

He helped me not only to pursuit my passion in culinary arts but he also helped me and a lot others through high school. Once I graduated I attended CCA in San Francisco and continued to go on a internship in Walt Disney World. Thank you for teaching this wonderful class.

I highly HIIIIGHLY recommend BATA to anyone interested in and serious about EMS. Took an 8-week…read morecourse, and it was a blast. Scottie Johnson is a fantastic instructor. I cannot stress how chill and nice he was. The course was taking a toll on my physical and mental health, but Scottie's cheerful optimism kept me going. He truly embodies positive energy and makes lectures so much more bearable. His storytelling and advice were very eye-opening as well. I regret not approaching him for help more often. However, unsurprisingly, it's very rigorous. For anyone looking at an 8-week course, you will spend 20 hours a week: 10 hours on lectures (MW or TTh; 5 hours each) and 10 on skills (Sunday); of course, with breaks in between. Lectures will cover 6 chapters per week, and you will take lecture exams every weekend on the day of your skills instruction. You should be able to dedicate a huge amount of time to reading through the course material (at least 20 hours imo). So please reconsider your decision if you're planning to work or study full-time during the course. Otherwise, give it a shot! Be cool and professional, and most important of all, make sure you have a great time. I promise you, it'll be worth it.

I just completed the 7.5-week expedited course, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. First and foremost, know this: it's a fast-paced, demanding course, and success requires putting in the work. But if you're serious about learning, BATA provides everything you need to excel--exceptional instructors, hands-on training, and a structured approach that sets you up for real-world success. Scottie, the lead instructor, is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's knowledgeable, engaging, and has a great balance of keeping the class fun while knowing when to get serious. He truly cares about his students and their success. BATA also brings in a fantastic team of instructors--shoutout to Kyle, Justin, Nadeline, Eric, and Tony--each of whom adds their own expertise and teaching style. With so many instructors, the course feels personal rather than overwhelming, ensuring plenty of one-on-one guidance and hands-on practice. From day one, you can tell that BATA is well-organized and genuinely committed to training top-tier EMTs. They focus on real-world scenarios and practical skills, not just textbook knowledge, which makes a huge difference when preparing for the field. For anyone considering their EMT certification--whether your goal is becoming a first responder or using it as a stepping stone for another route like medical school--you will be in great hands at BATA.

I am Extremely disappointed in how student concerns are handled at Silicon Valley Career Technical Education. When issues involving an instructor were raised, administration minimized the situation and demanded excessive "proof" rather than taking the concerns seriously. This response shows a lack of accountability and poor leadership. A school should protect students, not dismiss them. Families should think carefully before enrolling.

My high school fell for that scam, I attended this "school" where the administrators didn't know the subjects their teachers were teaching (and that's according to both teachers that I had). Only to finish with the highest score on the final and be denied the certificate I was being promised the whole year, with no excuse given at the time other than the teacher claiming he couldn't figure out how to use the printer to give it to me. That was in 2012, I've contacted the school and teacher many times over the years, and they both have the exact same story: "We neither have the ability nor authority to grant you that certificate. It's the teacher (according to the school) it's the school (according to the teacher) who has that authority, please contact them with this request." I only stopped contacting them after learning (2nd hand from a former student) that their "certificates" are nothing more than pieces of paper lacking proper accreditation. In the end, I only missed out on after-school activities because of this scam, but I can't imagine how horrible it would be for an adult to be scammed out of their tuition fees for literally nothing.

I was so excited to be part of this program to have a better life for my daughter and myself as a single mother I completed the academic side of the program and when it was time to do the Externship program I was hit with medical setbacks which I have doctors notes for but unfortunately I was told that six months after I completed my academic portion of my schooling I can no longer be part of the program. I wouldn't be able to finish my externship meaning I wouldn't be able to get a job as medical Assistant after I begged and pleaded to just give me one more month to complete two more weeks of Externship due to medical issues. This place is uncaring and a money grab. They crushed my dreams because I had a medical issue. I understand that this school provides a valuable service to those seeking further education, this…read morereview is less about the school's programs as a whole and more about how absolutely poorly the Pearson testing center is run here. I was scheduled for a certification exam on a Thursday night, one of their only two exam nights per week. I showed up well over an hour before my exam was scheduled and began studying a little bit more. I noticed that there was literally only one person in the front for the better part of the hour I was waiting. It wasn't until about 20 minutes before testing - 5 minutes before the people taking the exam where supposed to check in - that the rest of the test administration staff started rolling in. This is a bit of a red flag, as MOST places I have been to try to get there well before check in to make sure the computers we're testing on are working properly, and if there was an issue they would have time to try and fix it. This is not at all what happened. The exam I scheduled myself for was supposed to start at 6:00 pm. I wasn't told what was going on, aside from "Technical difficulties" until around 6:40 pm at which point the staff mentioned that their wifi in the room was down, and had been for a while and no one had done anything about it. Very shortly after this, the entire facility lost wifi, and the servers were not on site - a poor design choice in terms of a "quality" testing center I was assured by the staff that the director of the facility would "look into this first thing in the morning on Friday." Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and most of Monday came and went, and nothing from the testing center, or from Pearson VUE. So I showed up today 12/16/2019 to ask what the status was, and was givin a piece of paper with a phone number and case number to call. Only, they gave me the phone number THEY should use to call as it pertained ONLY to the testing center. My issue with this site is the gross negligence and incompetence of the testing staff in this unfortunate situation for myself and the other people who where essentially hosed on Thursday night, assured something would be done, and then, shockingly (HEAVY SARCASM) nothing happened. As of now I am out $400 for this exam, and am expected to handle this myself after their extreme lack of foresight and laziness in this situation. I will not be taking another exam here, nor would I suggest any one else do the same. The extra drive will be worth the avoidance of the headache caused by this site.

With that in mind, I was presented two options for industry-leading knowledge providers...and I chose Product School. Why? Because from the moment I engaged with the PS team, I was presented with timely, accurate, and relevant information pertaining my anticipated role and how they could assist me in being better prepared. At no point did anyone there "guarantee" me anything - which was much appreciated on my part. The financial admissions process was straightforward through a third-party lender and I was admitted into the upcoming course within a few days. A flurry of emails went out within a few minutes of acceptance and on-boarding was completed digitally in minutes. Now to the important stuff - how was the actual course? In short, it was excellent and far exceeded my expectations. I was fortunate to be surrounded by incredibly capable and engaged fellow learners and led by Rocky Sharma as an instructor. During the five days we covered all of the basic level skills required to understand the PM role and Rocky routinely placed us into learning groups to validate our theoretical concepts. If this were a course that lasted another week, I'd gladly make the time. I feel a lot better prepared now for my upcoming interview as a Product Manager and am looking forward to seeing how and where my new alum network goes in life.
