The two hour session just flew by. One minute the session was starting, the next thing I realized she was wrapping it up. Karen has an amazing and infectious energy that is transmitted to everyone in the class. The class is very well organized and even fun. Karen has decades of service with the Santa Clara Fire Department. So she is very experienced, dedicated, passionate, professional and despite it being a Saturday morning, really seemed to be enjoying herself! I can't imagine a better learning environment for this material. In summary, I sincerely recommend HeartReady and Karen.

I've been needing to renew my BLS/CPR certification for awhile now…read more My cousin recommended me a place through a friend she just met, Lori so I decided to check this place out. Place is kind of hidden, limited parking or you can also park on the street. This place is very clean, and cute haha I had the privilege to meet Lori very briefly, the owner, and she was really sweet. I took a class with my cousin. I think this place is new because I've never heard of it before and there's not many reviews on Yelp. Our instructor is Njoki. She was very friendly, welcoming and entertaining! I love her. She made you feel comfortable. The course was supposed to last 3 hours but it goes by really fast and you won't use up all the time. It was more like 2 hours for us since it was a smaller class plus the information from the videos can be redundant. My cousin and I were the only students for that class which I loved! I learn better in smaller groups. I don't like crowded classes. I know the one on Meridian always has bigger classes. You watch videos and then you do the hands-on party right after or along with the video. Njoki repeated the main things you needed to know on the test you took at the end so it stuck with me. I was worried about that part because it can be a lot of information to take in especially if it's been awhile, your first time, and that they change every 5 years or so. Be ready for a workout! I was out of breath and my arms and fingers were hurting haha My arms were sore for the next 3 days. We went through adult CPR, infant CPR, choking, AED Use and took a test at the end. Don't worry about failing. There's 25 questions, and they're pretty straightforward. The videos repeat and bold the important parts on the screen. Njoki also tests us along the way and repeats the correct answers and also reviews with questions on the test. Place was very clean. It was very cold that day and the place was heated so I was comfortable. The class was very fun and informational. Njoki was a great instructor. Prepare for laughs, an intense workout, and prepare to be extremely out of breath from all the chest compressions and counting out loud. I definitely recommend this place to anyone. The fee was $75! It is cheaper than other locations in San Jose. Will becoming back here for my renewal haha !

Most CPR classes I have been to are bland or boring, her class was engaing, insightful, and fun. She went and reported me to someone on her personal number after barely checking in and asking her a question. After waiting for nearly half an hour I had to ask that lady a couple times how much longer it was going to be and If I didn't in soon I was going to leave but I told her I needed a paper to leave my email and phone so someone could take my info and delete my acct. the last 4 times I was here I always had to wait a long time to go in to donate. I said I didn't want to come back and was trying to leave and was pretty upset by then. So thìs old Russian lady (maybe) came out and was saying I couldn't be upset there and to come with her. I told her I was trying to leave my info so someone can remove me from the system. Somehow she dragged me to the intake room and forced me to give her all my details. She wanted to see my arms and I was embarrassed of my severe eczema rash's, scars, and scabs but she kept insisting and said I was a drug addict she needed to check my skin. I got up quickly and said excuse me????? She kept assuming I was a user. I wanted to leave but she just ket insisting I stay and finish the process. I was forced to show her my eczema and very embarrassed but I did lift up my jacket sleeves and barely showed her. She tried to lift my sleeve and check my arms and kept insisting she needed to see both arms. She offended me and kept pushing I stay. She yanked my thumb and placed in this medical ring and later claimed it was to check iron. My "iron" was a little short and said I was not eligible to donate but had the tenacity to say I could come back tomorrow. I could tell she was a liar because I have stopped using my weight loss injection since mid January this year and I asked if what she said was true then how come I had more iron while still on my weight loss injection and always qualified to donate. Thìs was her way to shut me up or calm me down but because of her and this uncomfortable asian lady at the front; patients in need of healthy will have one less unit to help keep them alive. It is very unfortunate the evening staff are "short staffed" but it's still no reason to overbook people for the same slots when there aren't enough technicians. The American Red Cross were quite pleasant in the beginning but since the time before last and this last one, things have gone downhill quite a bit. I was severely bruised up for the first time ever by a young male technician and I thought I was never coming back but they kept sending me desperate emails asking me to donate again. So I did but after my experience last night, I'm convinced they don't need my help and think lying to me and stalling my time is okay but it's not. They were phonies in my opinion and don't deserve to represent American Red Cross. Neither can do their jobs without being manipulative in the process.

I attended MCC for their CNA Program and could not recommend it more for anyone who's considering…read moreit. Miss Didi was my instructor and was, by far, the best teacher I've ever had. She genuinely wanted every student to succeed. Each lecture, she shared insight from her professional experience, gave plenty of examples of how different scenarios would look in practice, and always welcomed discussions when something wasn't clear. During clinicals, she provided so much guidance and support, followed by thoughtful debriefs at the end of each day. She took the time to connect what we learned in theory to the real patients we worked with, which made everything make so much more sense. Miss Didi prepared me incredibly well for the state exam. I felt confident enough to take the written exam the day after graduating and the skills exam three days later, passing both with flying colors. Additionally, Mr. Dell and Dr. Marilyn were extremely supportive and checked in often to make sure we had what we needed throughout the program. I wanted to add that while MCC does not guarantee placement to a facility with their program, it is important to note that there are A LOT of opportunities for networking that Miss Didi and MCC offers. For my class, Miss Didi had several administrators and DSD's speak with us about their facilities, offering insight, applications, and contact information should you decide to apply. I just interviewed for my top choice facility and have been offered employment contingent on passed reference checks, background check and fingerprinting. I graduated from my program 8 days ago. You get what you put into the program, and being open to communication and learning will lead you to the start of a rewarding career. Overall, MCC made the whole experience feel worth it, and I feel truly set up for success moving forward.
