I've been taking my ACLS and BLS classes here for over a decade; from when it was heart share to now, life works. They've move a couple of times within the area, and I followed them. The only thing about this current location is that, parking may be limited if you don't arrive a little early. Many of parking spaces are marked and reserved for the neighboring businesses. Instructors are knowledgeable and nice. They make it easy for you to get through. This time, instead of in person class, I took an online course and in person skills check off. It was easier than driving into class, but still had to go into class for check offs. This place has clean restrooms, snack station with coffee and tea available. I come back to renew or get a new certification/license through HeartShare because of the good experiences I've had each time with them. Every class I have taken has provided me with the necessary support I needed in order to understand the concepts, practice the skills, and pass the course. Just completed my first ACLS certification yesterday and had Teresa as an instructor. I've been a Nurse for several years, but recently transferred to a job that requires ACLS. I've completed my BLS recertification's at HeartShare, and always had a good experience, so I knew immediately I would come here. I was SO nervous going into the class, I have a firefighter/paramedic significant other that absolutely scared me to death about the dreaded "Megacode". Every fake scenario he ran me through it seemed like the patient would go from a stubbed toe to dead in seconds (mildly exaggerating but not far off). Having Teresa as an instructor was the best thing that could have happened to me and my massive anxiety. She was thorough, non-judgmental, kind and explained things in a way that made sense and stuck. It's amazing how much you can learn and retain when you don't feel like you're in a tense environment. By the second day I was legitimately excited to come back, and she made the megacode experience, dare I say...fun? I hope this company knows what an asset they have in Teresa. I came back to work and found out that 2 of my other coworkers had her as an instructor and had the same experience...and we've been raving about her all day! We're all jealous that you get to work with her, and would love to steal her if we could ;) Anyway, if you're a first timer, don't second guess coming here. I took my PALS re-cert here almost 2 years ago, and it was such a waste of time. The instructors were very rude, and there wasn't much training that went on, despite being named, Heartshare TRAINING Services. You pretty much watched scenarios and had to have memorized the case studies to pass the mega-code. If you're a nervous tester, you will probably not do well since some evaluators are impatient and rude. I vowed to never come back here again because I thought everyone involved with the program were jerks. Unfortunately, my job sent me back here again to do ACLS. This time, it was slightly mixed. Some instructors were absolutely terrible, while others were a lot more accommodating and patient. I agree with the review about paramedic Tim. That guy acts as if he is a god. He's not, he's just overweight and gross. I had him for the mega-code portion and he was such a douche of an evaluator. He does need to show respect to healthcare professionals. I only come here because my job pays for my re-certs through this place, but otherwise, I would never pay for a class here. My money is better spent somewhere else. read more

Perry was great, took the bls/cpr class for four hrs. Few things I did not like were after I confirmed and paid for the class. That is when they mentioned there's a book that is mandatory to have, buy for 20 or rent for 5. Another point is I asked if we provided with a certificate or email and they informed me it was 6 dollars for proof. I thought this was odd, so I paid the fee. Then, Perry mentioned in class that we will receive an email. They did not mention this before charging me 6 dollars for a print out that they were already going to email me. If it wasn't for these two financial swindles, everything went well. Not deal breakers but it should've been stated clearly before I paid. read more

I'm new to the area and quite frankly I was peeved that my hospital didn't offer a PALS renewal class but they recommended I check out Heartshare and honestly it was a great experience. As a former travel nurse, I have been to a good handful of other similar facilities but this was the best so far. They are well organized, have a lot of space and equipment. The instructors kept the class relaxed and used mistakes made as learning opportunities for the whole group. I really appreciated that as some instructors can be borderline rude when you make a mistake (especially in renewal courses). I'm still peeved that my hospital that has an inpatient pediatric unit doesn't offer PALS but I'll just come back to Heartshare for my education needs. They mentioned they are trying to get TNCC in the works too which would be great! read more

This is my second time renewing my EMT skills through HeartShare Training Services, the first time was during the pandemic so the experience was slightly different but the second time was just as great as my first experience. Glenn was my instructor and he was super friendly and a great teacher. The class size was 5 which is perfect so you feel comfortable in the environment. Renewed my ACLS yesterday. It seemed like they made some changes with their course and staff. We had completely different instructors compared to the last two times I renewed here. Travis and Ken made the first part of the class so much more easy compared to the past classes. Everything was straight-forward, no-crazy-non-related-stories told . . . Nothing more, nothing less. The second half of the class (the mega code) was a little more tougher to bare (more for some than others). We were split into 3 groups. My group was taught by an Anesthesiologist. There were some good and bad aspects to my group. The bad: The MD was a little too thorough in his teaching and testing (it was completely by the book and scheduled timeline). Because of this, we did not get out as early as the other groups. He can also be a little harsh when mistakes are made. The good: Because the lesson was so detailed, I learned new info and still remember all the algorithms (unlike the past, where I delete everything in my head the moment I turn in the test). Even though I didn't get out as early as I had in the past two classes, the overall experience was enjoyable. And hearing from the people from the other two groups, the instructors that were teaching those groups were awesome. This place is not perfect, but it definitely earned 4/5 stars for sure. read more

My CPR card expired, and I had to complete an online BLS course for recertification. I completed my skills check at HeartShare. Originally I had trouble scheduling my skills check online but calling the establishment to schedule was easy and quick! I arrived early and the woman at the front desk got me checked in pretty fast. I'm not sure why, but I was kind of nervous going into the class. My instructor David was really cool though, and he openly chatted with all of the people attending. I was less nervous after. The skills check was really engaging and went by really fast. David gave everybody some really good pointers and gave everybody constructive criticism in order to improve our BLS skills. By the end of the hour, we were all certified! I got my BLS e-card emailed to me by the time I got home. 5/5 stars for such an efficient class. --the skills class had multiple people but everybody was spaced apart, wearing masks, and the mannequins were sanitized before and after use for anybody worried about Covid. read more

They are located off the freeway and a really common main street so it's really easy to find even on such a busy street. Their address is big enough to see off the main street as well it'd be a joke if you missed it. The staff is genuinely helpful and accommodating. They sure are knowledgeable too especially since they offer a range of services from BLS, ACLS, PALS and EKG. They know what they're talking about. They also offer these classes several times throughout the year so you can sign up early and not use the excuse that you didn't know when they were offering the course. They teach you the basics for saving lives and throw in the advanced life-saving tips only if you're signed up for it. No tricks, fast or curve balls thrown here. They make sure you know what you need to know in a timely manner too. So come review time, you're good to go. I'm sure to be back in two years once my certifications are due. I recently took the ACLS provider course which was taught by Teresa. Being that it was my first time taking this class, I went in very nervous and not knowing what to expect, but Teresa made sure to create a calm and inviting environment that contributed to a successful 2 days of training. Teresa is a highly skilled and intelligent instructor and she makes sure that the entire class understands what is going on. Because life support classes require teamwork, one can understand how difficult it may be to work as a team especially with COVID. Heartshare did a great job at making sure the class worked well as a team while maintaining social distance and assigning only 1 person per table. Dear Yelp, stop removing my reviews. It is strange and unfair. I wrote my review about HeartShare training services some time ago, but couldn't find it. Why would someone want to kill my review? Ok. I have been coming to this place for many years, since 2008 when I graduated from SFSU nursing school. I took their BLS, ACLS, EKG classes. My favorite instructor remains the same -- Tim. Since I took EKG classes in different places (Santa Cruz, Good Samaritan Hospital, online), I can compare Tim to other instructors. So far he is the best. Energetic, friendly, funny, knowledgeable and patient. Not arrogant. But friendly. Plus his method of teaching is fun. He makes ACLS code look like a game which build relaxed atmosphere-- easier to think and learn. Some people born to be teaches while other are bad at teaching but good at providing health care. I am sure we all met good surgeons and nurses who are terrible teaches. read more

I can get nervous about messing up and doing things incorrectly, but during her training I felt so comfortable and confident. I have taken several classes here. Taught more by EMT types who are a bit more into adrenalin and border on impatient. So crowded! I hate that. They squish people together at tables. Hardly room to write. The BLS folks don't seem very experienced and there were almost 30 people in my class. Come on - what kind of profit motive is there here. Tim for ACLS was arrogant though supposedly everyone loves him. The admin people are pretty strict about payment. It is high normal prices. The parking is plentiful but finding the office with all the buildings looking the same with obtuse lettering is difficult. I ended up going to Santa Cruz for training - which was fun. Registered on line for BLS class paid and gave them name address and email. Went to class signed in with same info. They had my name in the roster for BLS recertification class. I was there from 1-4 on a Monday Had great instructor. I took test missed one question and I passed then was told they don't give you card same day anymore they email next day . It has been 5 days . I called 3 times this week. Each time promised next day email would have card .They had the gall to ask me if I was sure I took class .. told them look at sign in sheet and the test sheet. I gave them 2 emails to be sure I would at least have the card on one of them.. Friday was promised I would get it the next day .. Today is Saturday they are closed . My card expires April 30. I don't leave things at last minute. I need to provide my Hospitals adequate time to receive card and note it in my file ..I expect prompt professional courteous service. If you need your card right away don't go there if you do demand card right away not some promise of maybe tomorrow. This place is awesome. They offer numerous classes throughout the week and I was actually able to make a next day appointment to get BLS certified. The staff was very nice and accommodating. They offered a lot of refreshments and if the class was longer I probably would have eaten something. Our instructor was Al. He was very animated which helped keep me awake! He didn't teach the class with examples from his past experiences (unlike other classes I sat through). Al thankfully taught the class with no BS and he was straight to the point. The movies we watched were manageable to sit through and there was plenty of time to work on the dummies. In addition, there was also plenty of review during our session so when it came time to do our test, there were no surprises. They are pretty strict and organized if with their classes. However, they follow strict guidelines due to AHA guidelines. ACLS class - 9am to 4pm. You get another try after the written final if you miss 4 questions. This class is taught by MDs, CRNAs, EMTs. TIM IS THE BEST; HE IS MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE. I LOVE LEARNING FROM HIM. Btw, you get 1 hour for lunch. BLS class renewal 9-12pm. This is taught by at least 3 instructors for a classroom of 30 people. Njoki is really good instructor. She's been there for many years now. They serve bagels, pastries, coffee, water in the morning. My work pays for classes here so I'm back twice in 4 years now. The exams are pretty easy if you "listen" and pay attention to the instructors. My only annoyance with this center is that the BLS/ACLS renewal as of 11/2008 is joint together. You have to remember to register separately online or you get 'dinged'. read more

This is my second time coming to Heartshare in this location. Parking is easy to find, and it is also located in the K building. I had the same BLS instructor twice. Her name is Njoki Karoki. She is always pleasant and very patient and doesn't make you feel stupid. She makes it fun and very hands on. I really enjoy the fact that I had her twice. She is super nice. She is the reason why I decided to sign up again at the same place. If you do sign up here ask to see if she is teaching the class. She is super nice and makes the class less painless. And because it is hands on it goes much faster then listening to someone talk. What I liked about the class is that there is a lot practice so when you leave, you feel like you if something were to happen outside you had enough practice to where you would not forget the steps, this is especially true if this was your review course. The practice is also good because you get your own mannequin and baby mannequin. I paid $75 which was the average price quote that I got when I called around. They also give you a test of 20 questions at the end, which Njoki goes over and over again during the video watching and her lecturing and hands on experience so you will get it right if you just listen. read more

Unfortunately, this training facility cares about making money over teaching healthcare providers. I called to ask if I can reschedule for an ACLS renewal class (through a hospital) which I HAD to miss due to my pregnancy and their answer was "we'd have to bill your hospital again bc we turned away others or you can pay out of pocket." I took the BLS course (CPR, AED, choking) with Logan and Melanie. I'd definitley refer people to come here if they need to obtain their AHA certifications. Instructors are laid back yet informative at the same time. Course took about 4 hours. Plenty of parking, and class size is small (only 10-20 people). Price is $75, what I liked about it was that the class was from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday afternoon. Instead of being lazy on a Sunday afternoon, I got my AHA done!
