Bad impressions don't last here! At first I was reluctant to recertify under my workplace's contract with HeartShare, I didn't like my experience from the last time I took their EKG & Drugs class. Don't get me wrong, they're really professional here and provide you everything you need to pass, people just don't get that you need to pull your weight and participate! A few years back in the EKG course, one girl was always caught off guard when the instructor asked her about rhythms and told her he wasn't convinced she "got it" in the end. "But I leeearned~~!" is all she could afford in words. Who knows if she was ever remediated after, I just like sharing funny stories on this website. Anyway...! ACLS Renewal is pretty straightforward. Scenarios are expected out of that tattered 2010 manual you and your friends share every two years. Three critical rhythms and 5-6 scenarios of pretending to assist your peers later, you're recertified and ready to grub among Hamilton's many-a grub...places. Take a load off, you did it! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This review is for the NRP class in their Burlingame location, taught by Robert. Robert is an amazing instructor! He was very supportive to the students, and very easy-going. Felt no undue pressure....and because of that, it created a conducive and positive learning atmosphere for the students. Came out of the class with a stronger foundation of NRP. Certification for ACLS/BLS and PALS here is fairly quick. The staff is very enthusiastic and very willing to make your time worth it. The classes really depend on who is on your group. I'd say for the many times that I've been here, I have been able to leave fairly on time or early. They prep you well for the tests at the end. I have to say though that the tables are creaky and old and CPR-ing them makes me weary that I'll collapse with them. The bonus is that the coffee is always replenish with snackbars throughout the day. read more

I took this class for my teaching credential. Usually it would cost me about $50, but this place charges $75. That's a lot of money!!! The place is easy to find with easy parking. The teachers were really helpful and clear in describing all the proper techniques of CPR. The 5 hour course was super long, but the teachers joked around with the students so it wasn't so bad. My university had issues with my CPR card stating that the statement, infant, child, and adult is not stated on the AHA card, so the instructor Melanie was very helpful in writing a letter to verify that all three areas were covered. read more

Renewed my BLS here and the customer service was great and helpful. My instructor was engaging, and made the class flow throughout the 3 hour session. However, they tell you to purchase the "BLS" Workbook when you sign up for the class online. What they fail to mention is that you can rent a book for $5 at the time of the class. Double check if you need to purchase any additional materials prior to starting any class. I plan to come back to renew in another 2 years for my renewal. read more

I have taken BLS for HealthCare Provider as well as ACLS. The instructors were knowledgeable and very professional. Each instructor was willing and indeed did spend the necessary time to ensure that each person in the class knew the material well enough to pass the class. I was not looking forward to taking the class, but within the first hour I was having a good time and enjoying the seemingly boring material. Additionally, I love how they have snack items free for the students for the breaks. Oh and where else can you get a can of soda for only $0.50?? read more

I have been coming to this small business since 2012 or 2013. It's very small but this facility is clean and well organized. The instructors I recently had, Travis and Mark were very knowledgeable of the course. They made it fun for a 8am training. Definitely recommend to take your BLS/CPR courses here. read more

Completed my first ACLS class here and if my work didn't pay for the class, I definitely wouldn't have spent my own money here. The instructor Teresa was downright rude and unprofessional towards other people in our group during the bls and megacode scenarios, especially to the younger more inexperienced people. She should understand that unless you have been in a code situation in real life, it is difficult for people new to ACLS to understand how to act and what to say. Not everyone taking the class has worked in the ER like she has. She didn't even review any algorithms or explain the drugs. However she was very nice and accommodating to the older or more experienced people in the group even when they made mistakes. Pharmacists now have a requirement to take ACLS to help with codes but often times do not have extensive knowledge of heart rhythms and defibrillation. The majority of the class was self taught and they mostly played videos. Teresa is knowledgeable but seemed to like to talk about herself quite a bit. My recommendation is that she be more understanding and provide constructive criticism, not just criticism. I cannot comment on the other instructor Melissa other than that she seemed much nicer and more personable. read more

The class consisted of 2 people including myself and luckily I didn't have to spend all day in training on my day off. I'm a satisfied customer. This is a review of their ACLS course. I renewed here 2 years ago and did not like it at all and didn't bother to renew here again. The instructors like many have said have an air of arrogance. Tim was the instructor for the megacode. If you are following the AHA guidelines for the rhythm he assigned he will pose another scenario in the middle of the megacode and if you don't know the answer to his question he will make a show of how it is inconvenient for him to answer his own question. I have since then gone to the location in San Ramon which is great. read more

I took the ACLS two day initial certification course here. It was awesome and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to take ACLS. They have snacks and coffee waiting for u when u walk in. The class is low stress and the teachers are great at preparing you for hands on skills as well as for the written test. I will be back here again in two years for my recertification! read more

She's a good instructor because she gives real life situations you can relate to when going through the skills with the class and adds humor and her good energy especially for people who just got off of work and already tired like I was, she keeps us engaged. I came here to take my BLS recertification. The class was supposed to be 3 and a half hours long, but it was cut short to 2 and a half. Thank god! Anyways, I found this place through the AHA website, so I just decided to take it. They charge $60 which is a little steep, but I think it was worth it. The instructors were all very helpful and thorough. There was lots of hands on time and the skills testing was pretty simple too. They walk you through the steps before you actually get tested on it. The written exam is easy too if you pay attention during class and listen to what's going on! read more

You have to renew your CPR every two years like it or not. The Heartshare ladies are like "well oiled machine". These well trained ladies will make your CPR renewal painless. Make sure to wear long pants a lot of the work is done on the floor in the center of the room. Its a once every two year visit that has to be done. read more

I like the convenience of Heartshare. I have had my BLS and ACLS training two years ago. The teaching staff was excellent and made an intense course fun. Heartshare had sent me two e-mails reminders recently for recertification for the BLS and one for ACLS. Registering for the recertification was easy and straightforward. I have to say attending this class on Sunday after St. Patrick's Day I was not really looking forward to it. Our instructor was Logan, now if I had a teacher like him in college I would sure pass all my classes with flying colors, he made all of us participate as well as he did which usually instructors just tell you what to do and just stand there watching you. . Went in for a CPR, AED certification. Just had a daughter so wanted to get training just in case. Logan was our teacher, and can I say wow. He made the class enjoyable, but at the same time made sure we knew/learned the correct ways. I took a BLS course here and I was very happy with it. They have classes very frequently so it's easy to find one when you need one. There was a mannequin for every person to use, which was nice. The instructor, I believe his name was Michael but I could be mistaken, was excellent. I received my card in the mail within a few days. My only complaint is the textbook fee. DO NOT pay the $15 online to order the book. What they don't tell you is that you can rent it from them at the door for $5. However, I am a bit annoyed that they made us rent the book but we never even opened it once. That was a waste of money. Anyway, I would still return here if I need any other class in the future. read more

I have always had nothing but the best experience at Heartshare. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful and the instructors make the courses a learning experience. I have not had the same problems with Tim as some of the other reviews. He has always made difficult topics easy to understand. And, as an LVN, he seemed to treat all students with the same great respect. I dont really feel like Drs or RNs deserve more or less, we are all taking the same class. John is another one of my favorite instructors. He is clear, and pleasant. I did however have 1 negative comment. Kristy (may be a new instructor, I hadnt worked with her before) not only looked, but SMELLED like she had not showered in days. Not very professional. Great instructor, but poor hygine can be very distracting. Will be going back for my next training in Oct! read more

I have to say that this is an Awsome training site for Adults and children. I have taken all of my CEUs for Heathcare providers and my daughter has just recently taken the Certified Babytting course. Having taken this course helped her aquire a summer job at Happy Hollow Park and Zoo. She is only 14 I will most definitely be signing her up for First Aid/CPR/AED. I was told by Vernon and Tim that I had no choice but to buy the book for my PALS re-cert class. I was told that if I did not have a book I could not stay in the class. I did not need the book at all. No one else in class looked at their book either. Vernon said that it was an AHA requirement. I thought that sounded funny so after the class I called AHA. AHA said that it was up to each independent training center to set their own rules. Just another way to get your money. There were two great instructors John and Chris. It's comforting to know that I am not the only see that Tim is a legend in his own mind. If he's a great as he thinks he is why is he not working as a clinician in the real world like us who come to these classes? There must be a reason why that is his full time job. read more
