Occasionally, I visit this store and have felt that the way this store operates is not…read morecustomer-friendly or appreciated. Each visit it feels more like being watch than assisting with my purchase. Today I decided to express my concern with someone identifying himself as Greg (owner) after I ask his name since the employee had given my name as an introduction. As I attempted to explain to him why I was dissatisfied with the customer service he became enraged and started yelling at me in order to make a scene and I ask him to lower his voice because this was a private conversation. He was angry because I didn't respond to him when he offer to assist me but it felt like when he appeared it was to pretend he was checking something on the shelf but it felt more like he was there to watch us so I didn't respond. When I tried to explain my reasoning he made a scene and I was in disbelief of the unprofessionalism and he didn't care about not supporting his store. Well it work communication is everything and when you have ignorant owners you lose one customer at a time until the doors closed permanently. You can Order the same products on line for lesser cost and save on gasoline. I Do not recommend this store because the owner is a very nasty arrogant man and the items are overpriced.

Extremely unpleasant shopping experience. Wife and I had both Covid-19 vaccinations…read more Wore both face shield and mask. Harassed by staff for not wearing "Their mask". Spoke with manager, equally unpleasant and unreasoning. My wife and I have been members of Newark Natural Foods since 1990. Both of us are retired nurses with 31 years of practice. While taking precautions in light of the Pandemic is appropriate, the staff and manager are acting in a manner that is mean spirited and inappropriate. There is a doctrine that every nursing board in every state follows to the letter: The Nurses's Practice Act, specifically states: "What the reasonably Prudent Nurse would do" The operative word is "Reasonably". By the harassment the that I've experienced on my visits suggests that neither Management nor Staff understand the concept of Reasonably Prudent. Fear and paranoia have swept aside all reason and have thoroughly alienated this customer of 23 years. I'm not sure how many customers have been dealt with this inappropriately. Perhaps if their profits plummet and insight prevails they might start treating their customers in a more fair, understanding snd friendly manner.
