A lifelong tradition. Wolffs for the best local apples
    Dee M.

Delaware county staple for over 100 years. It's expanded over the years and it follows all the current trends in gardening, holiday decorations and events without losing sight of the old things that people still value. You can't beat their selections for Christmas items and if you happen to go a few days before Christmas most inside Xmas items are 25% off. Their Christmas trees that I've gotten over the years have been fresh and fabulous and it's always nice to get a little cup of hot cider while you're shopping for that special tree. I myself have been coming here about 31 years and finally decided to write it up. I think partly why it took me so long was I wanted to keep it a secret. But who am I kidding? Everybody knows and loves this place. But it's not just about the holidays here. In the fall you get the best apples that are picked locally and in the winter you get whatever can be grown locally. As much as I love the holidays here my absolute favorite time is the spring and summer when the place is overflowing with seasonal locally picked produce Wolffs being smaller than its competitor that begins with an L and ends with an A is just a special kind of place that is part of the local lore and embedded in the hearts of all.

I really enjoyed my visit. The store was very cute and I appreciated that the local produce was clearly labeled and showed where it was grown. There were a couple of nice gift items as well as candies but the produce selection was my favorite part.

    Weaver's cider baby!!!

My wife and I have come here several times and every time has been a great experience. In fact, during the fall months, I make the month of November my hard cider brew month, as the rest of the year I brew various beers, usually seasonal. However, this year I was able to get a jump on my hard cider brewing because they carry Weaver's cider! Possibly the best cider you've ever had in your entire life, and alleviated me of the need of having to drive all the way out near Reading to get my hands on five gallons. So their produce and country store are wonderful and carry all sorts of great products, many of them homemade, and we highly suggest that everyone that is in the area and has some free time head over and give them your business, they will not disappoint. In our most recent visit we headed over specifically to try their homemade soups and get a quick bite to eat because we hadn't eaten there before and really wanted to try it out, rather than taking it home. We both bought soups from their self-serve area, mine being a masterfully spiced pumpkin soup and Jen's being their beef chili, which was exquisite. You can tell that everything is made in-house and with utmost care and love. We also both had wraps, which were okay, kind of bland, and a bit overpriced for the quality, robbing them of that fifth star. If this was simply a review of their store and produce and farm supply, it would definitely be a five, and probably a six, if I could give an extra star. Definitely check out Wolff's and please give their food a try while you're there. You won't regret it and neither did we. We will continue going there for many years to come.

We've been going to Linvilla for the past couple of years for our pumpkins, but this year our pumpkins will definitely be coming from Wolff's!

I went during the weekend, and it was quite crowded, so if you don't like crowds, I would recommend going on a weekday, as there were lines everywhere, especially in the food areas. First of all, the burgers were really good; I highly recommend the smash burger, and it's affordable too. However, the blooming onions were disappointing lacking flavor and tasting simply like cooked oil. On the bright side, the Mexican street corn was great, and I was really happy with that. The beer garden had a nice selection, and I especially enjoyed the apple cider beer; it was definitely my favorite. For dessert, I tried the viral apple sauce and ice cream drink and the apple cider donut. I'm generally more of a savory person, but surprisingly it was so good that I drunk a lot of it. If you could only get one item, the warm apple cider donut is a must it's really delicious and perfect for colder weather. Now the apple cider it has no added sugar, and it was great so I happy about that. In regards to activities the hayride was short, but the one we choice it included a s'mores section that made it worth it. Overall, the food options had mostly hits with a few misses, but the atmosphere and drinks made up for it. I would definitely say it's worth paying the dollar for the playground, as the kids had a blast and loved every moment. The hay bales, monkey bars, and space to run around were great touches as well. Some kids in our group participated in apple blasting and loved it, and they thought the corn maze was fun too. One thing to note is that most activities require an additional fee, so be mindful of that. However, everything is relatively affordable. Overall, the experience was worth the cost, and the kids had a great time enjoying all the available activities at the playground. It's a perfect spot for families to spend a fun-filled day together without breaking the bank, and it could also make for a fun date night.

There's also a a market that sells freshly grown fruits, vegetables and local made goods. There's also a garden and gift shop selling a lot of the local artisan products. Lots of parking available around the main entrance area. We went early in the morning around 10am. We spent most of the first few hours walking around the zoo that had a huge chicken range, duck pond, cow, goats, sheep and horses. There are vending machine to buy corns to feed the animals. We had to get our own quarters as the coin exchange machine was broken. Around the noon we head to the Linvilla Grill. They had some good pizza and chicken tenders. There were few outdoor benched to dine. Price was little steep. The freshly squeezed lemonade was outrageous. They make the whole thing by grinding lemon right in front and put it in a huge plastic 32 oz jar. It is so worth for $8. We also bought some peaches and cooking sauces from the market. Cash is preferred, for credit card they charge fee at the market checkout.

I enjoyed the osso bucco very much and had a hearty pasta appetizer. Service and wine excellent. Now in corona mode. 9/11/20 This weekend I enjoyed an outdoor experience there on a Friday. 9/11/20 There was a duo called Almost June playing outside. Great, mellow tunes and smooth voices. The beet salad was quite nice with fresh mozzarella instead of the typical goat's cheese. i also enjoyed the "torta" sandwich. It was a large, tasty crab-cake served burger style probably 6-7 oz. w lettuce tomato, garlic mayo, and some truly delicious fresh-cut fries w skin onI also enjoyed the lemoncello chicken served w fingerling potatoes, and haricot vert. My dining partner complained about our waitress who seemed not to wear a mask at all, even though she was running inside and back out. All other staffers had their masks on as far as I could see when they came our or when I visited the clean, indoor bathroom The inner dining rooms were also operating at what appeared to be full Corona capacity. She also complained that the chicken was dry, I did not agree. It may have been pre cooked for quick delivery upon ordering. The food came out super quickly so there must have been a great deal of advanced prep involved. I know my dining partner gave a bad review so I am giving a good one w constructive criticism I hope to return to La Porta Via and change my rating to 5 stars. I hope they invite Almost June to return and if they have other mellow music there I'd like to see and hear that too

Finally, a NOW OPEN flag was placed atop the sign so my lady and I pulled in to find it. Tucked in the back behind the office building you will find this deceptively small looking building that is actually very spaceous inside. On the shelves you'll find a number of italian specialty items: dried pastas, desserts, chips etc. In the cases you will find prepared foods, salads and sauces. The day we went in there was a refridgerator problem with the glass case and all the food items were stacked on top of each other in a case that worked. We grabbed some cooked stuffed shells and some tomato sauce to reheat for dinner the next evening. The sauce was tasty and fresh but sweeter than I like (tasted like sugar was used which I will never understand as the tomatoes are sufficient.) The shells were spectacular - absolutely delicious. Their website with a full menu is under construction and will be here soon. This is a welcome addition to us folks out here. Closer than Carlinos in West Chester yet more limited compared to the offerings you can get at Carlinos, La Porta Via does offer a solid number of items I intend to try.
