They are making pretzels hot and fresh right before your eyes as you walk in! They have a cheese corner with the items made in Lancaster Amish country, Pennsylvania ! I was on the hunt for something called cheese for a gift. I was able to put in an order and come back the next day and pick it up. I wonderful to have such great service and such wonderful, delicious food items. I also picked up a chunk of goat cheese with cranberries and cinnamon... Because we're expecting a snowstorm and I wanted to have a nice cheese plate. Let me tell you that cheese was absolutely delicious so flavorful and wonderful wonderful . There was a Tea booth, and I picked up some Bengal tea which is my favorite . Wonderful service. Another delightful surprise was a Greek stand that had delicious sandwiches made with falafel and baba ghanoush . I got a baba ghanoush sandwich. I also bought some. Za'atar Man'oushe bread. What a thrill how flavorful and so exceedingly delicious. I am so happy with that purchase and I wish I lived just a little bit closer to the store so I can pick up this bread at least once a week !! Such a great place to shop! When you think farmer's market...normally you think outdoors...but this was inside. Apparently, this is a common type of shopping venue here...and it's fantastic! There were many rows of vendors here, and all were pleasant! The first thing that really hit me (walking down every aisle), was the variety of vendors. Yes, there was some overlap, but overall, it was a very wide selection of food and merchandise....my wife even bought a purse here! The second thing I noticed was the high quality meat and produce. If I lived close by, this is where I would shop. You could tell the people that worked here took pride in their food, and there was a visible difference in how their customers reacted, trusted, and relied on the vendors for recommendations. We were able to sample a bunch of items, thankfully....and everything was good...but of all the items we tried here, the pretzel dog and draft Appalachian root beer was the best! So fun to visit...will be back for sure! read more

Great Greek food vendor which was a great discovery if you love good Greek feta and backava! Only negatives were it is crowded and most vendors still only take cash. Love this market. Never make it past the pretzel stand need a hot pretzel dog in hand and a frozen batch of mini dogs for later. Great variety of fresh meat options. The donut place not only has large speciality donuts but the make the same fun flavors in a donut whole variety. read more

Can't share any pictures of the food my family and I got because we inhaled it. So good! So happy we had some time to stop in here. We were surprised by the variety. There was Asian food, empanadas, sweets, meats, veggies, and more. Loved the mini pork dumplings. Flavorful. My daughter loved her cheese and bean empanada. Went to Lancaster County Market in Wayne today mid afternoon. Usually it is an enormous treat. A friend from Manhattan was visiting and we met at Market to shop and plan our day. First order business, go down first aisle to left and buy bunches of pretzel wrapped mini sausages. Paid my $15 plus tax order and item dispensed in thin white paper bag. I asked for another bigger bag to put it in but staff said I would have to buy a bag. I reminded her that I had just shopped there. She was Not going to give me a bag without paying. Charged me $1.20 plus tax for cheap bag.!!!! We went to Greek store and items in white shopper bags with handles?FREE, went to bakery, Free white handle bags. The pretzel store is ridiculous charging for a bag after you've already spent money there! Just makes them look cheap and uncaring. Shame they're in the front of the Market....give everyone poor service as soon as they set foot in the place! Never again! read more

As a child I have fOND memories of my grandfather taking me there early in the mornings and getting warm delicious CRULLERS and everyone knew his name "Hey, Russell" they would shout!! I loved this! Now I go and I'm overlooked, underlooked, looked through and sometimes just Ignored!!! Racial bias has replaced the familiarity that I cherished and experienced decades ago with my grandfather. The food is quite overpriced and really not that great! READING TERMINAL market has delicious baby back RIBS! Worth the train ride! And Hershey Mkt has decent cucumber salad. The "quiche place" is where I received the worst " customer service" Ha ! That's a joke. Todays adventure prompted me to write this review, however, I've been dealing with this "poor service" problem for a while. Wayne is MY hometown but sadly I don't feel welcome here anymore when I'm treated with disrespect and differently than my white neighbors. The lady insisted on selling me older cucumber salad than what was just made and Displayed! (It's the principle folks!!) Yup it came down to freaking cucumbers! I asked for the freshly displayed batch but she took it from another dish and when I pointed that out she said it was the same (overflow so it was supposedly in a different container) well obviously it wasn't, IM NOT BLIND, ( just black) I said no it's not the same. Absolutely delicious! I came to PA to visit my best friend. While she was at work on Friday, I walked to the market for breakfast. Rachael was an excellent cashier and Angelo was great in ensuring the food was perfect. I ordered the blueberry French toast, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The food was absolutely amazing. As seen in the pictures, the French toast was served with fresh strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and whipped cream. The food was so good I made my best friend come back with me for breakfast the next day just so she could try it. The food was worth coming again and again, but the excellent customer service was a great bonus! read more

Great farmers market with long time vendors. This is a great place to go for breakfast or lunch as many of the vendors have prepared ready-to-eat meals. There's a seating area up front to plop down and eat your meal. The butcher to your right as you enter has the best cheese selection around, and their made-to-order hoagies and sandwiches are quite good! read more

Stopped in here to pick up lunch last week. It was okay but definitely on the expensive side... There's lots of tantalizing stuff to look at that I would have loved to have bought, but I was just there for lunch and didn't want to spend a lot of $$$. After perusing the entire place, I decided on a couple of pasta salads at the Greek place (Semaan's Homemade Specialties: Middle Eastern & Greek). They were good but certainly not great, and I almost fell on the floor when the guy told me how much my bill was. $17.81 for two medium pasta salads? Oh well... Live and learn I guess. I did end up getting two lunches out of it so it wasn't a total loss... Anyway, as for it being a "farmer's market," it really didn't feel like one to me. Sorry, but stark white floors just don't scream farmer's market to me. From now on, I'll stick to my neighborhood farmer's market (Booth's Corner in Bethel, PA) and for pasta salads, I'll be sticking to Carlinos's in Ardmore. I do have to say I was really impressed with the sandwich and cheese samples from S. Clyde Weaver - Smoked Meats & Cheeses. I tried a huge and yummy sample of their BLT with fresh mozzarella and some tasty cheese... I would definitely go back for one of those sandwiches - it was really good and they actually looked reasonably priced. Might check out their meats and cheese too. read more

You can enjoy baked treats or fingerlicking-good rotisserie chicken, ribs and potatoes from the Amish stands, fine Chinese cuisine from Susana Foo's, Italian or Middle Eastern cuisine. Alternatively, you can also pick up some quality meat, cheese and smoked goodies along with farm fresh vegetables, fruits and eggs. In short, there is something for everyone and for every budget. This review is only of the Good Harvest farm stand in the middle area of the market as it was the only vendor I purchased from. Good Harvest has a large selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables. I found their prices to be fair (not low) for the quality of goods offered. I purchased some blueberries, watermelon, corn, and tomatoes. Everything was wonderful! The staff were also friendly and helpful. There was a senior couple next to me and the staff person taking their order was patient and sorted through an entire section of corn for them. I just love this place. I usually take friends and family here since there is something for everyone. You can go grocery shopping with several produce stands. There are a couple of meat/deli counters as well as a seafood counter in the back. There is bakery which carries some really nice bread from Le Bus but go early for best selection. For breakfast, you can get something at the grill in the back- usually pretty crowded in the morning. There are a couple options for lunch with a sandwich shop and grill. Plus, there is a middle eastern and an italian stand but they look to be more like picking up frozen or cold items to heat up at home. Also, I vaguely remember seeing quiches at another stand. For a quick snack, there are homemade pretzels made in the front in different flavors. My favorite is the almond praline, but my sister tried a cranberry one as well which was also good. Off the top of my head, I remember garlic, sesame, cinnamon for pretzels. More varieties than Auntie Anne's and they don't skimp out with the nuts, etc. Plus, there are pretzel dogs which are glorified pigs in a blanket. Pretty good and make nice party snacks to go. There are some other odds and ends for just shopping in general. Florist in the back with a gift shop. There are also candy, dried fruit/nuts, and gormet pet food stands. Parking can be a bit hectic so just be patient or just park further away next to the mini mall. I really like the Reading Terminal Market in Philly but traffic and parking can be a pain in downtown. If you live in suburbs like me, this is the way to go. read more

I work pretty close to the farmers market, so my co-workers and I always stop by for lunch. The prices are very high, but considering that it's on the mainline, I can see why it's higher than most. I wouldn't encourage anyone to make a special trip here for their food and treats, but stop by if you're in the area. They have several butcher stands and one Amish stand. I like to get my desserts from the Amish stand and order from their restaurant, Angelo's. They also have a pretzel stand that is pretty popular and a yummy treat. read more

For shame, Lancaster County Farmers Market, for shame! This place is so convenient to my office but every time I go, I swear its the last time. For starters, most of the produce isn't local - you can tell by the stickers saying the egg plant is from Honduras or the grapes are from Chili, but I'd expect more at a self-proclaimed "Lancaster COUNTY" (like, 30 mins up the road) Farmers Market. And then, point 2, I couldn't find free range eggs or hormone free meat anywhere. It all looks good and like yesteryear, but you start asking questions and first the friendly folks behind the counter get all annoyed you dare ask, and then they grudgingly admit that not much of their stuff is particularly local or particularly what you'd expect at a farmer's market. O, and point 3 is where I get really bugged. It's expensive. Stupid expensive. $6 for 1 lb of bacon? $15.99 per lb for Delmonico Steaks? $17 per lb for lamb cubes? Even crazy expensive but delicious Jamison Lamb at the Fair Food Stand at Reading Terminal is only $10. Yes, I know RTM is far for us suburbanites, but they don't price gouge you there. And its truly worth it. The plus of LCFM? Great pastry and good lunch spot. But their hours suck and they're stupidly priced. read more

Note this place is open Wednesday, Friday & Saturdays ONLY 6 AM to 4 PM. In the Winter months, when lack of a real Farmer's Market starts to give you a nervous twitch on Saturday morning, head on over of the LCFM. Here is a walking tour: We will start off to the right where you will find a vendor that sells smoked deli meats and fine cheeses. Grab yourself a selection for a brunch charcuterie. I recommend the sliced London broil, farmer cheese, ham salad and parrano cheese. Move slightly over to the left and visit the butcher. More expensive than Acme and probably not free of any of the bad stuff, but the ground beef has been ground minutes ago and they have an overwhelming supply of soup (dog) bones with plenty of meat still hanging off. Next we will go down the second isle to visit the french deli, ooh la, la or something. Here we buy quiche. You can choose Lorraine, Asparagus, Tomato/Basil but today you will have leek, one medium, $11.50 please and thank you. Trust me, you will LOVE IT! Turn around to another baker and pick up some huge muffins - I like Ultimate Blueberry and Sour Cream Coffee Cake. You might also want to pick up a scone - $2.95 but it will feed a family of four for three days. Up three steps to grab a slice of "tomato pie" - not true tomato pie but delicious nonetheless. Skip brac-a-brac - that lady just goes to China town to get stuff and resell it 3X's the price. Next stop, coffee place/spice store. Get a cup of the daily brew and pick up an ounce or two of some spices you might need for tonight's meal. Most will cost you about $1 an ounce - try smoked pepper and ground cardamom. This is also one of the only places where you will find Droste dutch process cocoa. Turn around here and visit the bulk seller. Nuts, dried bits of things - and I'm not just talking about the seller! Today, I bought ground flax seed, dried green beans and chocolate covered raisins. BEWARE - this guy is really grouchy. The only thing that breaks the spell is to talk Eagles Football. Next isle has a notable stop, Sassano's. Fresh pasta - they will cut it into Spaghetti, Fettuchini, Linguine or Angel Hair while you wait. Try the vodka sauce and you can't go wrong with ANY TYPE of meatball. Just a few more stops before we go - Veggies - choose from two vendors - yes, they might be from Honduras but they were really cheaper and better looking than the big grocer. You now go get your chicken - in the back, right hand corner (I know we were just there but this is a HOT item) at Lapp's. Get a whole rotisserie chicken. This is not like Sam's Club folks! You will pay $12 for your chicken but it will taste like church chicken BBQ - like when you had when you were twelve with your Nana. You can also get an individual meal but that would deprive you the pleasure of pulling apart the chicken with your hands. Before you leave, grab your pretzel - hot, fresh, similar to an Auntie Anne's operation. I like Chocolate Chip or Almond. You can also stock up on some party dogs here. Try to go on Wednesday when it is not very crowded. Saturday is a mess with kids and old people with canes and carts. No, it is not the same as buying produce that you know some girl with dreadlocks and smelling of patchouli oil just plucked out of the ground, but this will get you through to Spring. read more

My new GO-TO. I sampled three wines for $4 and purchased one bottle for my birthday. It was not overly crowded and the layout made it very reasonable to maneuver your way through the crowd. I also picked up lunch consisting of fried chicken, roasted potatoes, a half pound of smoked kielbasa with complimentary barbecue sauces. They are closed on Sundays. read more

I walked in here a few days ago, after a 2 month or so hiatus. Unfortunately, this market is changing for the worse. When I saw my favorite butcher in the back of the market had been replaced by some no-name prepared foods deli-type of place, and Lapps roast chicken had simply disappeared, I asked a vendor what was going on. He said the landlord had renewed everyone's lease but had put so much legal stuff in it that it drove some vendors away. He said sales were down a lot since this change. With the removal of two old-time, vendors from Lancaster county (one of them Amish), this market is starting to lose its country feel. I will return, but not as often. Very sad. read more

My family just moved to Wayne from The San Francisco Bay Area and The Lancaster County Farmer's Market is one of my new favorite places in town. If you're visiting, it's a must stop just for the pretzel stand. I love all the different vendors. They are all so friendly and they make grocery shopping a joy. Weaver's Meats is a MUST STOP! I love their deli meats, cheeses and their spreads are to die for! OH, and their sausages!!! Then, theirs the candy shop that has hundreds of different candies and ice cream! Their are a few bakeries (all great) and the butcher shop sells top quality meats that are amazing! My favorite part: supporting local, small businesses who care. Nothing better than that! read more

Employees walking through crowded aisles pushing kart with no mask on. Most employees wearing a mask but not much other than that. Last week I managed to do all of my grocery shopping for the entire week here and it actually cost me LESS than the grocery store, plus I knew where everything came from!! Ate breakfast at a Nudy's after, which is right on site. Nice touch. My only complaint is that they have limited hours. Cute little market with lots of variety. Not really feasible to do grocery shopping because it would break the piggy bank but the market was good for a quick browse and some tasty treats. I've been going to this place for years. And don't get me wrong, it's better than going to the Crap-me (aka Acme). But it just isn't what it used to be. You will find a nice selection of bakery items, fresh produce, cheeses, meats, fish and seafood, candies, flowers, etc. here. But be prepared to pay a premium. Which is worth it in some cases and oh-so-not worth it in others. $4 for a baguette? Are you kidding? Go down to Aux Petits Delices in downtown Wayne for better baked goods at more reasonable prices. The produce here used to be great. You were buying mostly locally produced stuff. Now, most of the stuff available is imported or grown in CA or FL. You can get the same at Whole Foods, which is just down the street. I suspect the same is true of the meats and cheeses. And I swear that there is a huge immigrant-employing "Amish" industrial-baking complex somewhere out in Lancaster County. The baked goods sold by the Amish in this market look identical to "Amish" baked goods sold in Mega-markets in Lancaster County (Shady Maple is one). Same packaging, same offerings, same "imperfect" shapes and colors. Amish-made my a*s. I just get the feeling that the folks from Lancaster County are having a good laugh us folks in Wayne, Devon, St. David's and Villanova, buying over-priced "Amish" baked goods, meats and cheeses and thinking we're living the "good life." Stand-outs at the market: The coffee place, the cheese place for it's amazing selection, the little sandwich and breakfast counter in the back corner, the candy place-again for the variety and better-than-average quality, and the hot dogs at the pretzel place. The "You've gotta be kidding me" stalls: The bread counter/baker (the big one), the florist, all the little boutiques of bric-a-brac and jewelry, and the pasta/specialty foods place. B) It's an open all year indoor mostly local farmer's market, with great vendors, so who cares. The word Farmers should have asterisk around it since the fruit and vegetable vendor sells fruits from South America, maybe it's a global farmers' market, wait isn't that a supermarket? Well anywhos, the rest of the place is mostly from...........Lancaster County, hence the name. On to my favorite vendors, Country Twist, pigs in a blanket must try, and make sure if your pretzel is cold to ask if they can warm it up for you. Next, Semaan's, it's actually a shame I have to put the goodness of his products in words, no matter how eloquently and elaborately I write, nothing will do it justice. Must Tries, olives (I'm on a boat), his armenian cheese ( I _________ in my pants), and finally baba ganoush(The Chronic-WhatCles of Narnia). The meat butchers(any) are fresh and the rabbit I purchased (can't remember which place, it's on the right hand side) cooking and consumption was superb. It's definitely a great place to find fresh food and variety. But in one sector specifically, you have to pay attention if you go back more than once. The area in the back where they serve fish (I believe it's called Mainline Market) you will get a much higher price by the man that is there during the week, than you will by the people that are there on the weekends. I guess to many, that isn't a problem but it is to me. Also, I am very disappointed in how they are handling social distancing during the covid crisis. The store is packed to the point people are touching each other effortlessly. It would be impossible for there to be a 6 foot distance between people.
