Before my mom dropped me off at the bus station I wanted a quick bite that wasn't the greasy Chinese food that was on the block. Across the street on the corner was a quaint shop that sold smoothies, different toast, sandwiches and super fruit bowls and come to find out later it's BLACK OWNED! While reading the owner bio posted in the shop I looked outside and saw the owner eating breakfast with his daughter! I had the PB&J toast and was able to sample the Morning Green Giant! It was delicious and hit every taste bud I was going for. The cashier provided great customer service and was super knowledgeable on the menu and his favorites. Definitely wish I would've found this place sooner and will definitely be back. Go here!! read more

Green Box has been one of my favorite spots since it opened! They've even gained some competitors in the area but they are still the best! The staff is awesome, the story behind the resturant is even better, and the food and drinks speak for themselves. The ONLY downfall is their hours! 8-2 Monday through Friday really eliminates when I can go! I was able to make it work this week and enjoyed my breakfast so much! My daughter and I stopped in for a smoothie during our walk :) service was friendly and we ordered the willy Wonka smoothie. They have a food menu as well that looked really good! The willy Wonka consisted of bananas, pineapple juice, strawberries, blueberries and agave. It turned into this nice purple flavor :) We loved the smoothie and it was perfect for our morning out. Stopped into green box today after putting it on the to do list and never checking it off. I hadn't realized they had changed the hours (11:30 to 3:30) and conveniently was able to stop by after a doctors appointment. I ordered the chickpea tuna for a friend and the Baja bowl for myself. I had been here pre pandemic and got more of a breakfast item and wanted to try more of a lunch treat. I was not disappointed! Everything in the bowl was well seasoned and I couldn't get enough of the green goddess dressing. My friend reported back about the "tuna" and said it was better than he expected. It's about $9 to get a good size. This comes with agave, bananas, blueberries, granola, and strawberries. It doesn't have any seating inside. Outside there's a few tables. Their vegan entrees are quite rudimentary (like I can make those at home), and their smoothies are 1) not creative or fun and 2) way too sweet. This is more like a pick up and go place than a sit down and eat restaurant. It showed up when I searched for "dog friendly restaurant". However, I didn't see any outdoor seating, and the indoor space is quite small. We ended up taking our food and our dog to eat at the nearby waterfront park. read more

I had the Thai "Chicken" salad with peanut sauce. First, let me say I'm not a huge mushroom fan. But the mushroom replacement for chicken was FANTASTIC! The fresh house made dressings are perfection. The space is tight, but it makes for good conversation with a stranger. The staff is so friendly and helpful- they brought my food out right away. I ordered the waffle, it was so delicious you'd never know it was vegan and gluten-free! It was covered in the freshest fruit and the 'realest' maple syrup. I ordered a hangry smoothie as well, I loved the oatmilk base. It was a bit more peanut buttery than I expected so I might leave that out next time but it still hit the spot. There was some construction going on out front... with about 5 smoothie spots on the same block, the fact that all four construction workers on the ground were drinking Green Box smoothies tells you they're the best around!
