I asked how much extra and he said it would be within the quoted amount he originally gave me. Which was high until I figured out why he quoted me that. To cover any incidentals. So in the end I paid the high end of the quote but my computer is not only working but it feels like it is faster. Maybe that is just me though. I woke up this morning to a computer that would not power up. I determined that it had to be…read moreeither the Power Supply or the Motherboard, but had no way to make a final determination of which one. I drove into SE Portland and went to the local non-profit for assistance,but they offered little help and had no real way to determine exactly where my problem was, or any real desire to offer any technical support. On my way back to the West Side I found Portland Support Computer Repair, and soon all my immediate computer problems were a thing of the past. They tested my Power Supply and determined that it had indeed failed. They made no attempt to sell me a new computer or even hundreds of dollars worth of computer service and repair. I was given information on where I might find a replacement Power Supply on-line for an ancient computer (just over ten years old) system like mine. I then asked them if they didn't sell Power Supplies, and was told they might have one, but it may not have enough connections for all the peripherals, at which point they got out the potential new Power Supply for my system, together we counted the connectors, and found there were indeed enough. I bought the Power Supply for what I thought was a reasonable price, took it home, installed it, and I am now writing this review on that very same, working yet again, computer system. Thank you Portland Support Computer Repair for your excellent Customer Service, your knowledge of computer systems, and your non-pressure approach to helping to solve my computer problems of the day. Neither could give me an estimate--they needed to ship the laptop somewhere else and *then* they could give me an estimate. Portland Support gave me an estimate within an hour of me dropping it off. They did a phenomenal job with the repair for a reasonable rate. As an added bonus--their office might be my favorite office to visit. They have the coolest collection of posters I've seen. I will very happily only use them in the future.
