So I make my ice cream just to end up, topping it with disappointment. And the little girl blamed it on the truck, not being in, so apparently the company's not run well. Also, after making my own ice cream, sitting it on the scale, being greatly disappointed that they don't have one of the most vital ingredients, I'm expected to leave a tip for the person who just turned a point of sale device in my direction. (About six years ago, I tried Culver's after hearing everyone talk about how good it was…read more Unfortunately, it fell flat and didn't live up to the hype. ) Fast-forward to about two years ago, when this location was purchased and came under completely new management. The experience has been totally different ever since. Every visit and every item I've tried has been consistently excellent. Culver's has one of the most diverse menus in fast food, with something for everyone. The butter burgers are fantastic--I especially love the Deluxe with grilled onions. The cod sandwich is fresh, flaky, flavorful, and not overly greasy. The butterfly shrimp is cooked perfectly, and even the sides have been consistently well prepared. Every time I visit, it seems like Jeff, the owner, practically lives at the restaurant. He genuinely cares about the business, his customers, and his team. Jeff and his staff always greet me warmly, and he's constantly recommending something new for me to try. So far, he hasn't steered me wrong. Most recently, I tried the Reuben sandwich. I would have ordered it sooner if I had paid closer attention to the menu. It was seriously one of the best Reubens I've had--the flavor was outstanding. I only wish there had been a little more meat, but considering the price point and the fact that this isn't a traditional restaurant-style sandwich, it was absolutely worth every penny. And of course, the frozen custard speaks for itself. Culver's is known for its butter burgers and custard, but I'm amazed by how well they do everything else, too. Outstanding food, great staff, clean tables, and spotless restrooms. This location is proof that leadership matters. You can't go wrong at the Florence Culver's

He looked at me very rudely and in an annoyed tone he said "I gave you a straw though?". Why would I want to use a straw for my sundae lol? He was very annoyed and gave me a spoon belligerently. The atmosphere reminded me of a NYC bustling bistro where the "cool kids" hang out. Our waiter was knowledgable of the menu when describing a few entrees I had a questions about. My salad did arrive with way too much dressing for my taste, and it was quickly exchanged for a new salad with the dressing on the side. Everything was delicious. A nice place for a date, group dinner or just a time for a nice meal out. I do have to say that the noise level got pretty high on the Friday evening we were there, it was a full house.

But the main reason you go to a restaurant on the river is shrimp, right? Who doesn't love shrimp right out of the river? I don't know if that's even a thing, but I was in the mood for shrimp and I thought I'd turn pink like a flamingo from the amount of shrimp I started with the Shrimp Cocktail which was a generous portion of shrimp expertly placed on the rim of a cocktail glass. The Shrimp Happens was a hodgepodge of fried and grilled shrimp and it was also amazing, although a bit too much fried for me. The atmosphere was a bit on the dirty hole in the wall side. And like most people, I love a good hole-in-the-wall, but the food has to back it up. The food was good, but not outstanding to call it a hole in the wall. I also love the Fire Exit!
