The people that attend the school are great partners no matter what size you are or what shape you are in athletically. We take classes with all adults but they have kids classes as well. Beyond learning to defend myself in rigorous classes that not only engage me physically but mentally, I have learned the benefits of meditation and have seen a positive change in myself and my life overall. Let's be honest, going to the gym sucks! If you are looking to get a great workout, feel inspired, learn to defend yourself and/or improve the quality of your life - I highly recommend it!

I've been training here for the past four months and it's been a totally positive experience. I wanted to pursue a martial art for the first time in my 30's to stay fit, improve my mental health and learn to defend myself. I didn't want a competitive, tournament driven environment - but something more practical and functional, and thats what Bushidokan teaches through its Moreira lineage. Sensei Alex and the other instructors here are knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to help you improve. Whether you're just starting or you're an experienced practitioner, they'll take the time to work with you one-on-one to make sure you're getting the most out of each training. I can say without a doubt that my fitness and self-defense skills have already improved dramatically since I started training here. If you share those goals, and want to be part of a supportive community, this is the place to be.

I'm very confident that my kids will have the knowledge, skill & confidence to defend themselves if ever need be. I can truly go on and on.... from start to finish each class I'm just in awe. My only regret is not starting sooner! The staff is incredible and the owners are such genuinely good people. You can tell they love what they do and are very good at what they do!! Their weapons defense class looks like something out of a comedy, and they don't teach you how to throw a proper punch. their courses look like they're designed for 50 year old moms, learning self defense. If you are a young guy that wants to know how to fight better for whatever reason join mmt in Rochester hills instead of your nearby. Krav Maga has always struggled to gain the same recognition as other martial arts. The only positive thing I can say is they have weights and the cancellation process was easy.
