    An assortment of sweet creations

We were in town for the eclipse, and places like this make me want to put Castleton on my list if regular of stops in Vermont. When a place smells this good, you know you're in the presence of a great bakery. Everything looked so tempting, my diet was lucky I didn't walk out with more than I did. Indeed, these are "creations." We got an apple danish, a maple toffee cookie, a chocolate peanut butter cookie, and a carrot cake whoopie pie. All great. Castleton is lucky to have Michelle's sweet creations.

The cookies and danish were absolutely delicious, and the staff, a true delight! We wish they would open a store in Rutland.

Have only tried the blueberry and raspberry scones, cheese danish, and big cookies, but all were fantastic.

I had an omelet off of the Specials menu with Pineapple, ham and mozzarella...Basically a Hawaiian Pizza but in an omelet. Very good, if you like Hawaiian Pizza. The home fries didn't have much color to them but we're actually cooked through and tasted good With a nice texture. The only draw back was our server, while efficient, had like in the way of people skills. Every interaction was as short as possible. Not bad, just not good. Lots of items to shop for if you are a tourist.

Our server was carol and a young 14 yo assistant named Austin. The place was hopping but you wouldn't know it as Carol and Austin were GREAT!!! Carol is definitely a serving heart kinda gal. We split our delicious meal. It had everything except potatoes so we had a side of those. Smart! Eggs over medium and super good sausage links! One blueberry pancake and one buckwheat. So accommodating to get to choose different pancakes!!! Who does that?!! No restaurant we've ever been. Pancakes delicious. Only wish the syrup was warm. Everything else was perrrfect! Must go!

No taste to the french toast, i asked to sub out the bacon for sausage in the bee sting and they just added sausage with the bacon. It was too hot to enjoy the food with no AC. They said they were going to comp the waffles for being forgotten but it was on the bill. I really hope that waitress was new. Live music is pleasant. Overall meh.

They have great pricing here. My partner and I shared some incredible fried cheese curds. I highly recommend ordering those, they were incredible. My burger was good too. You order your food and pay up front and then they bring the food to you. There was one server that was extremely short with us, the other one was really sweet. There is a lot of seating available inside. The walls are lined with animal heads, so gives it a rustic hunting feel. I was most excited to try Vermont's signature: a maple creamee. Keep in mind they give you huge servings of this delicious soft serve. My partner and I shared a medium and could barely finish it. It tasted like delicious buttery maple syrup pancakes. If you're looking for affordable, local fast food, the Maple Angus is a good pick.

It started as a food truck and now it's a brick and mortar although they still cater. We have been here 3x in a week the food is excellent!! They have a huge indoor space and picnic tables outside as well. There is a walk up ice cream window. Lots of options, steak/burgers/pizza, all of the regular fried goodies- mushrooms, fries, onion rings etc. The family runs it and they are wonderful people. They run their specials on their facebook page. They have maple creemees & this one is excellent. They also have black raspberry soft serve which I didn't know existed and am now obsessed with, I am not sure if it's a special though ha. Support local and eat this delicious food!!
