This breakfast spot has to have the absolute best everything bagel I've ever had. Like their model of ordering and picking up outside. Thank goodness for nice weather. Downside for a coffee and breakfast spot, they don't open until 8. When visiting Bolton Landing I was there for a conference so had to be in session typically by 8 but was walking by before 7 and between 7-8. Everything I did get to try was just absolutely the best!

For MDW my family traveled to Bolton to stay with relatives. It was so nice exploring the town, but we needed a caffeine break. Bear's Cup had just reopened for the season and so happy we got to try it! We ordered drinks including the cold brew, chai and a whipped espresso special. The bear claw was also a must try!

Egg sandwich and my Gluten free bread was not toasted, Idk why you wouldn't toast it? Oh well.

Kids loved it, want to go back tomorrow but for 3 people $75 breakfast! Ouch! It's take out only, but they have some tables and chairs on sidewalk. They had one GF bread, one GF banana bread (I'm allergic otherwise I would have tried it), many croissants and bakery items.

Good NY pizza. Crisp, thin crust. $5/slice with topping. $4/slice plaincheese only. There are shakers of Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes and garlic powder. Friendly, prompt service. 5% cash discount. Indoor seating is typical simple sub shop; nice that they have a few 2-person tables outdoors on the sidewalk.

Northern Lake George area that is more outside of the chaos of the downtown. You can order at their outside window or eat inside and try their brunch. They also have a pizza restaurant that opens later in the day. We ordered breakfast from their outside window. They are expensive, for 2 pastries, a breakfast sandwich and 1 coffee we spent $50. The bearclaw pastry was large and tasty, the lemon blueberry scone lacked the hype. Their breakfast sandwich on their bagels were fresh and very cheesy. Another party in our group ordered the cinnamon bun which was actually more a ball of fried dough rolled in cinnamon sugar than a cinnamon bun and it was really small and a disappointment.

    The Bolton turkey sandwich

First time at Lake George left a bad taste in my mouth. After waiting on the street for them to pass our order through a window, we took our "The Bolton" sandwiches to eat on our boat for lunch. When we unwrapped them we found the least amount of turkey you could legally put on a sandwich and still call it a turkey sandwich (see picture)! To add insult to injury when I reviewed the receipt that was emailed to me I noticed that the price was higher than as stated on their website and I was surprised that I was upcharged for having it on bread. $18 a sandwich was way too much to pay for this interpretation of a turkey sandwich.

Pastries are so so good! Any of their sandwiches are great on their everything croissant. Muffins make us keep coming back. Service was great!

I haven't given a 2 star review in awhile. The bear claw alone is 4 stars. It was great, super buttery and flakey and filled with chocolate. A little greasy on the bottom, but still delicious and I'd come back for that. Everything else was blah down to the service. 2 bagels (1 a BEC, the other lox with cream cheese, a bear claw, cold brew and chocolate milk was $53!!!) the guy taking orders didn't even look at me while I was ordering. Bizarre. They accept cash, but don't give you back change. *side eye* I asked for a sesame bagel and got a plain bagel. Cream cheese wasn't spread out. Lox was good. Bagels were on the smaller side and were just ok. (I'm comparing these to Long Island bagels.) The BEC was cold, cheese wasn't melted. I had high hopes for the place because of the reviews, but ultimately I wouldn't come back.

Excellent food. The coffee is terrible. The cold brew is bitter and the coffee tastes like molasses.

    Yes.

Do they offer gluten free pastries? Not celiac (AKA - cross contamination is okay), but I'm wondering if any items that are made without gluten for those that are sensitive?

Anyone know if turkey bacon or turkey sausage are available?

    Do you sell iced coffee?

It was very good! Both my husband and I liked the bagels. I got an egg and cheese and he got bagel with lox cream cheese. Service was quick - staff was pleasant and made sure you knew what was up when you were talking to them. My only critique was it wasn't clear what beverage were hot or cold. When the server said my latte was iced I was psyched! My preferred! But I was prepared for hot. And did not know what it would be upon ordering it.

This was the perfect place for my needs- I ordered a bagel with cream cheese (not toasted) & my partner ordered a plain bagel toasted with jelly and butter. My partner liked his bagel. My bagel on the other hand was awful. The cream cheese tasted sweet and even chunky like cottage cheese. It was a horrible taste. It was also weird that neither of our bagels were cut in half they were left whole. I've never been to a bagel store where my bagel wasn't cut. But I'm from NYC so maybe in NY state they do it differently. The staff was very nice and efficient with our orders. If I came here again I'd love to try the coffee or the pastries. I wouldn't recommend the cream cheese at all.

But if I lived in Saratoga Springs, UG seems like a worthy successor. I can't comment on their vast bagel stash - poutine and fried chicken is enough for the day - or their beverages beyond the enjoyable caramel vanilla coffee. But I can praise the infrastructure. The line looked intimidating but they kept it moving. Since my biggest gripe for non-Starbucks purveyors is the lack of a condiment bar I was impressed by the options here like simple syrup and almond and oat milk.

Where things are frustrating is (1) the pricing for gluten free options (2) lack of gluten free options. Patrons have to get creative to accommodate a low-glycemic index diet or a gluten free diet. Almost every single soup has gluten now a days. There was a time when soups were the only gluten free option. They've raised the price of a side of grilled chicken to $8.00, which is insane for 3 oz of chicken. That equates to roughly $32 a lb for chicken. The menu says $3.15 to "add chicken" to a salad, so I'm not entirely sure what the big deal of adding it to a bowl of soup is any different? I'm paying $6.99 for a soup and a salad is $7.25. I'm happy to pick out the pasta in the soups, but to not add chicken for $3.15 as if it were a salad is a line that is frustrating. Not a fan of the salads due to the diningware they elect to put them in. The bowls are wabbly and are often filled to the gill, so people like myself who cut their salad have difficulty enjoying their salad as it falls on the table more than staying in the bowl. Giving an honest review in hopes that ownership will take this into consideration. Finding myself coming here less as it gives me anxiety coming and trying to think of what I can actually eat.

The loaves usually sell quickly, so it's best to show up early. My sister clued us in on the place and as we walked by shortly before they were closing at 4 pm on a Saturday in August, there was a tent sign outside showing a variety of breads crossed off and two remaining. Sure enough, there were not only just two flavors left in the display case, there were only two loaves. We purchased the sourdough with cherries and pecans. As we were paying for our purchase another customer came in and bought that last loaf. When we got back to my sister's house we sliced the bread to try it. It was absolutely delicious! I also understand that scones and croissants are made on the premises by the owners. My sister actually reserved some for pickup the following day. (Unfortunately, we will have left for home by then.) I did also spy a case with a variety of cheeses - next time. It's my understanding that this is a husband and wife operation. The husband makes the breads and the wife makes the scones and croissants. The wife is also responsible for the operation of the home furnishing store (Pine Cone Mercantile) that you will walk through to get to the bakery. Go ahead, just try to not be tempted to buy something in that store also as you pass through. Their Facebook page says they are open 10 am - 5 pm Thursday - Monday. However, they were closing at 4 pm the Saturday that we stopped in. I suggest calling them before going.
