Eclair, at Lake George Baking.  This is awesomeness, it really doesn't get any better than this.

Stopped in once to Lake George Baking during our vacation to the Lake George area. I decided on a "variety box" of goodies consisting of an apple turnover, a chocolate covered cannoli, an eclair, a cinnamon twist, and a large 1/2 chocolate covered almond cookie. We ate most of the contents of our variety box on top of Prospect Mountain, after driving up there on the Veterans Memorial Highway. The apple turnover was the best we've ever had, my wife suggested we should get several of those turnovers before we head back to Connecticut (but we didn't stop back in, unfortunately). I devoured the eclair, it was absolutely orgasmic ! DANG, can't believe I just said that, but it was that good. However, we felt the cinnamon twist was a bit dry, but the almond cookie was decent. The "Loser" of the box (by far) was the chocolate covered cannoli though -- the filling did not go all the way through and it was lackluster (consuming it after that apple turnover and the eclair might not have helped). We've had better cannolis. So all in all, we definitely know what to order on a return trip to Lake George Baking -- the apple turnovers & eclairs, obviously. They are the best you will find anywhere.

I stopped in because I saw a sign on the outside that said it was the home of fudgy the dessert cookie and I thought it was something original and that I never saw again, but all it looked like was a butter cookie with fudge on top. Boring! I ended up getting a chocolate eclair and that was nothing great. I've had better tasting and fresher ones from shoprite. Oh, Lake George, how you disappoint me unless it's pizza or ice cream.

They have cute outdoor seating in these big beach lounge chairs

Spent my birthday in Lake George last weekend and was looking for bakeries to buy a cake in. Found this place while in town with my friend on a whim. Went in around 3:30 on a Friday and luckily the baker was in! My friend got me a cake and says the flavor was vanilla with buttercream since that was all she had to make that day before they closed. She made a beautiful cake all in 30-40 minutes! I like vanilla but wouldn't be my first choice. When I saw the cake I was impressed and loved the colors. When I tasted the cake.. I kid you not, it WAS THE MOST DELICIOUS vanilla cake I've ever had. There was some custard inside which was delicious! Mouth watering when I think about it. I wish this bakery was in close proximity to where I lived but then actually would be quite dangerous. We not only got cake but got some treats too, cream puff, eclairs, carrot cake and chocolate cupcake and ALL DELICIOUS! I couldn't stop eating the carrot cake. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Suffice to say I will come here every time I'm back in Lake George!

I was in the area for the Lake George Winterfest! My friends suggested we pick up some goodies on the way home. I love pastries, so I was more than game for the suggestion. It was such a delight to walk in and see and smell the lovely pastries. They have fresh bread and deserts. I also found out that there is another location in Queensbury. I had no idea and I worked in Queensbury for a year. There were so many delicious options to choose from that I was overwhelmed. It is a small location and there were two customers in front of us. Everyone had masks on. The customer service was good and they were friendly and helpful. The wait time was normal I will definitely be back.

So many choices so many decisions. Try 'em all !

Being from around here I'm sad to say I never came here before. I could have had such delicious pastries, cakes, cookies in my life way before now. The lady at the counter is super awesome. Tells you everything you need to know. I was told to come here from a friend and ask for lobster tails. So I ordered 3 and was told that they are being made as we speak. I waited 10 minutes for heaven in a box. They have strawberries and raspberries. I recommend getting them while you can. While waiting 4 other couples came in and all asked for lobster tails. So I knew my friend was on to something. I came home opens the pastry box and was in heaven. The aroma, the size, the looks were great. That first bite took me to a place I never been to before. Sadly to say when I was done eating it I was back into reality. I need to get a job there and learn the baking skills from the great baker's of the Lake George Bakery.

I'm allowing 2 stars as we haven't tried the cake yet and I hope it tastes good, as I paid $40 and it sure doesn't look good. The cake was not ready until an hour after I requested it, leading me to worry they were rushing the finishing and decorating of it. They insisted the cake box stay open when I took it, in order not to "smush" the whipped cream. Shouldn't a cake fit properly in its box? I sat in the backseat with the cake and on arriving home, found that the layers had slid apart. Thus, confirming my fear of a rushed cake. I called and was told "the cake should not move" but that they could fix it if returned. We are 40 minutes away and had already waited on the cake on the first visit. Spending another 2 hrs to get the cake fixed on my daughters birthday isn't an option. I'm just so disappointed with the execution of this cake.

Came in here for some delicious cookies. Chocolate chip with like chocolate topped on it, was very good. Cute place and good service.

The food is some of the best we've ever had and our breakfasts here were a highlight of our stay. The pastries are fresh and delicious but definitely don't skip out on the sit down meals here. The French toast and crepes were unreal and the potato's are delicious! The service was amazing, our waitresses were incredibly kind and created a very positive experience for us. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with flowers on each table and was very clean. It has a very nice overall atmosphere.

However, our experience this morning was anything but good, and I'd actually say this was the worst breakfast I've had in years. I ordered what is called the Benedict Maddie which is their take on eggs Benedict. This is my go-to breakfast and their version was nearly inedible. From substituting the English muffin with a brioche bun that can't stand up to the moisture of the eggs and became a stodgy mess of sickly sweet pudding to the curdled and flavorless hollandaise that left me feeling sick afterward. Adding insult to injury was upcharging for ham that is a core ingredient of eggs Benedict. This was absurd given that already astounding prices they charge. Sides were potatoes which were okay, but it was also served with salad that I was suspect of given the current health issues with lettuce. My wife was equally disappointed with what was supposed to be a French omelette but turned out to be an overcooked, open face western omelette that was more like rubber than eggs. Her $9 blueberry smoothie was delicious though Service was slow with only two other tables occupied when we arrived, although our eventual server turned out to be quite pleasant. Coffee was never refilled and the bill for two people was just...well...arrogant. I guess this place really is French. The two stars are for the smoothie and our waiter. The rest is pretty forgettable.

I needed some cannolis and looked up online local bakeries…read more lake George was closed so while I was in Saratoga I searched and found Ms Londons Took the chance, in winter sometimes I worry bc it's sort of off-season but I stopped by and luckily they did have them! It was for a birthday I made cannoli cake but didn't want to make the actual cannolis to save time but wanted a higher quality version than price chopper I also got a latte and it was very good- nice and hot (some places they're kinda cooler) The service was great a woman with short brown hair helped me & made the latte. It was a very cute cafe /bakery and idk if they make their desserts but if they do- great job! Im happy either way and the birthday boy said the cannolis were perfect.

And that is not a word I use lightly either…read more What kind of person buys a gem like Mrs. London's and doesn't take the time to learn the recipes, master the craft, and maintain the standards of what was once arguably the best boulangerie and patisserie in America? Seriously, there is someone here to blame. What is their name? I want to know. Sure, it's not a civil or criminal offense. But it's a crime against food. It's a crime against the people of Saratoga Springs. And it's just plane offensive. I regret if anyone was driven to try Mrs. London's based on my previous glowing reviews. I am so sorry. I had no idea. But I was just there this morning. I gazed into the pastry case at the croissants, and my heart sank. I felt sick. The croissants looked like something you would see in an airport. I think the croissants at Costco might be better. These were flat, flabby, and pale things. Far from the perfect, golden, flaky, structured, glistening beauties of the past. And this isn't about fond recollections. I have receipts. Photos from the past and pictures of the present. It's night and day. If the new owners aren't going to preserve Mrs. London's food, they should have the decency to put someone else's name on the joint. I too asked about the breads, and was told "their baker retired". Fortunately, Michael London taught other people to bake amazing artisan bread, and his legacy lives on elsewhere. Unfortunately, nobody at the shop bearing his name bothered to pick up the torch. What a shame. It is so sad. I am literally heart broken. This was one of my favorite bakeries in the country. I went out of my way to make a special stop in my limited time passing through the region. But I suppose nothing lasts forever, and this is a valuable reminder of that unfortunate fact. My days visiting Mrs. London's are over. I can no longer recommend it in good conscience. Perhaps the hot chocolate is still good, and the decor is still lovely. However, if you look closely at the glowing reviews, they all point back to a time that has now sadly passed.
