She was rude and told me that they don't fill over three weeks. I explained that I was undergoing radiation and chemotherapy and was unable to come. After spending thousands of dollars at this salon over time, I'm shocked by how this was handled…read more The nail technician did my nails with polish that appeared moldy and began bubbling. After removing it, the technician spilled an entire bottle of dark polish over my clothes and shoes, damaging expensive items. As I stood there covered in polish, with my clothes ruined, the manager would not even make eye contact. No one apologized, acknowledged the damage, or offered to reimburse me. I've since tried to contact the owner and have been given the runaround. This is penny wise and pound foolish. An apology and reimbursement would have gone a long way. Instead, they've lost a loyal customer.

And then charged $24 for my 3 year old and $30 for my 6 year old- $6 extra because she got different colors on her fingers and toes. Came to $54 and we were there for 20 minutes. Felt like a rip off. When I expressed my disappointment with the price for the quality of service nothing was done/offered. I will not be returning here.

I went there twice, the service is better than okay. They seem loyal to their regular costumer and…read moreseem to prioritize them. Here is my experience: The first time was good. I went second time. They try to rush me into picking the color, I didn't mind. Then I started with pedicure. A new costumer walked in and needed a pedicure so she left me half way through to Athens to the new costumer. But someone else took over (the front desk person). This person also did my manicure but skipped so many steps such as soaking your fingers in the water and removing the cuticles from the edges. So basically she started putting nail polish on my dry nails right away. I honestly didn't have the energy to tell them how to do their job, so I let it be. Last thing was cherry on top. She charged me for my manicure and pedicure, which is fine. Then I gave cash tip. She asked me "is this only for me or both of us." I find this ridiculous that you want me to tip both of you. I said both and left. It's better to keep the costumer coming by providing a good service instead of worrying about petty tips.

I honestly cannot believe that I am the first person reviewing this place because it is hands down…read morethe BEST nail salon in the area. Trust me when I say this. I am OCD and obsessed with getting my nails done and I regularly get pedicures, gel manicures, lcn tips, and waxing. I have tried probably tried 90% of the nails salons in a 25 mile radius of Tenafly, NJ and Nails Plus is by far the best one I've ever been to all around. They are incredibly clean, have a GIANT selection of both regular nail polish colors as well as gel colors. Their staff is also amazing. Everyone is super friendly and highly skilled. Even if you don't have a "regular" nail tech that you go to, any person working there will do your nails perfectly. Yes, expect to pay a little bit more for your services here, but if you want 5 star service, you should pay for it. I highly recommend a spa pedicure, gel manicure, or a 10 minute massage. If you haven't been here yet, be sure to check them out. You will not be disappointed.

Back Story: I have been going to Pro Nails Plus since they were just "Nails Plus" in their original location near the Closter Cinema (circa 2002). It has gone through different management, but some of the techs are O.G.'s. Gel manicures are usually on point, but the past couple visits... the pedicurists have been lacking, yet I continued to give them my business out of loyalty. I booked an appt. the day prior and requested a specific pedicurist. Upon arrival, there was another weekly frequenter who was there for an hour before me with the pedicurist I booked and she tried to hand me off to someone else. When I said I booked an appt with you... she start whining and raising her voice; so rude and mean the rest of the experience and did a horrendous job. I was in such shock to be treated so poorly that I just left.... instead of speaking my mind as I typically do. The manager was very apologetic and accommodating but unfortunately that was my final visit there. and I still tipped her!

That being said, 4 U Nails & Spa in Cresskill NJ is a winner. The place is surgical clean and orderly. You never see a speck of anything, they are rabid about cleanliness. I get my gel mani done once a month and when I say it lasts -- if my nails didn't grow as quickly as they do (I think menopause sped them up lol) I could go even longer. But at 4 weeks, the grow-in is obvious and I don't like the way they look. I don't get them done because they are wrecked, I get them done monthly to change up the color and be pampered a bit. Funny story: last Saturday I was getting my gel mani and looked down the line and saw every client had picked some shade of pink. I had earlier switched my choice from a gorgeous turquoise to an OPI pink. We all laughed that it was the last mani of Summer. Come Fall, the colors are killer: deep metallic wines, sapphires, jades, the mattes are also stunning. Now I think I will go every 3 weeks, just to try all the colors. The technicians are friendly, but don't expect deep conversations; some aren't conversant in English, but all are stunningly polite. Two TVs are usually showing food network or animal planet, which is just fine. I leave my phone in my purse and just enjoy some quiet time. Pedis also last a long time, and the leg massages are wonderful; I just don't get them as often as my mani; maybe I should. Not the bottom of the pricing chain. The gel mani runs $35, and I tip 20%. But, you get what you pay for. And 4 U Nails delivers every time. Call and book an appointment.
