We were told it would be 30-35 minutes, but it only ended up being 8 minutes. It was so nice to be in a restaurant with character, history and personality. Loved seeing all the old photos. It was noisy, but not from loud music, but from people chatting and enjoying having conversations. We order the red and white pasta, tri tip sandwich and pastrami sandwich. They do not skimp on the meat. Sandwiches were delicious. I enjoyed my pasta and side plate of salami, cheese and bread. To end our lunch we had the butterfinger ice cream pie. Chef's kiss on a great lunch. The staff at Luigi's doesn't skip a beat. Our water glasses were never empty. Even being busy, the service isn't compromised. Afterwards, we walked around their store. It was full of take and bake items, wines and deli items. I highly recommend people visit!

Since 1910, they've been serving up amazing Italian food, and trust me...they've perfected it. Now let me give you the insider tips because this is one of those places that if you know, you know! So, If you want the patio (and trust me, you do), get there before 10:45 a.m. They open at 11, and those tables disappear FAST. Even on hot days, the misters keep it cool, and it's the perfect spot to enjoy lunch. This visit, I ordered my absolute favorite! THE Giovanna Salad with grilled chicken! I had to go light on the meal to save room the real star of the show: the Butterfinger Ice Cream Pie! The food is incredible, and the staff always makes you feel like family! If you're just passing through Bakersfield, do yourself a favor and make Luigi's a stop. You may think you've had great Italian food...but until you've been here, you're missing out.

It is not fancy but with food like this you can take a fancy set of silverware and stuff it :) I will say, that the variety is better if you like spicy. The staff are friendly and nice. Our service was a bit slow the second time we went, but we were ordering a lot for a party of seven and they were quite busy, so I personally wouldn't hold that against them.

We ordered the pot stickers, stir-fried green beans, BBQ pork bao buns, spicy popcorn chicken, and soup dumplings, and honestly, there wasn't much to complain about! The spicy popcorn chicken was delightfully crispy and paired perfectly with the chili crisp sauce. I also loved that they had several sauces already on the table: dumpling sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil, so you can customize each bite. The stir-fried green beans had a slightly sweet brown sugar flavor, and the dried Thai chilis they were fried with added a nice layer of flavor and just the right amount of heat. The soup dumplings were good, as were the BBQ pork bao buns, but my favorite of everything we ordered was definitely the pot stickers. You could really tell these were made with fresh wonton wrappers rather than the frozen, mass-produced ones you often find in grocery stores. They had that perfect combination of crispiness on the bottom while remaining soft around the sides. They were also sturdy enough to poke a little hole in them and let the dumpling sauce ooze right into those little pockets. The staff were super friendly, too. It seemed like every person working there checked in on us at some point to make sure we were doing well, which made the experience feel genuinely welcoming.

We drove by Temblor Brewing, somehow we had missed it as we have been on this road many times. It is a real brewery and you can see the big aluminum stills set up. Sadly there was quite a line. I don't know if they take reservations, so check. Parking is easy. The place looks new and is so clean and really comfortable. They had several beers on to tap to check out and a very nice menu. It is all written on a board so you order and have a sit. They had live music which was great and fun. I don't know the schedule so call. Their salads are great and they have a few. They also have burgers and steak and we loved their chicken. The service is great. You will love this place.

We saw the line and stood in it while looking at the menu board and food menu too. We put in our orders and found our seat - there was live music on stage too - it was early in the day so we were surprised to be able to see it, a happy surprise for sure! I ordered an iced tea and its a self serve station - I loved the tea, it was brewed really well so anyone who wants a great tea come here! We wanted to get some food and both got salads - they were great salads, very fulfilling and all ingredients were treated well - I am picky with chicken and this chicken on my salad is like my favorite chicken now. There are lots of different beers so my husband was very happy to be able to try them. This place was awesome and we'll be back for sure, I loved the historical signs and facts on the wall near the entrance to the bathrooms too, it's nice to have ties to the history of the region.

HP Sauce is the main brand. I stopped in on afternoon Saturday the 7th. First impression was similar to the Asia market on White Lane, maybe less cluttered, more like a small supermarket. Walking the isles I didn't see it. To make sure I asked a stock clerk. He was friendly, hadn't heard of HP Sauce but walked me to where it might be. No luck. I didn't want to leave empty handed so brought an apple soda in a clear plastic can shaped like an aluminum can up to the register. I guess they took those earlier negative reviews to heart. The cashier, a man in his 40s or 50s, was so friendly. Joking with me in a dad joke way then gifting me a little morsel on my way out. I'm sure no one else gets treats, I was wearing my cervical collar, pretty sad looking. They have a lot of different foods there. Great produce. Just don't count on finding much British food.

It would be interesting to learn how to use ingredients I'm not familiar with. I highly suggest a visit. You won't be disappointed.

The carne asada here is incredibly flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned. My dad absolutely loves grilling whenever we come to visit, and without fail, this is the only market we buy our carne asada from. It's become a family tradition at this point, and every cookout is something we all look forward to. Beyond the amazing meat selection, the market itself is clean, organized, and easy to shop. Everything is neatly stocked, making it simple to find what you need without feeling overwhelmed. The only way I can describe this flavor to you is to say I felt I had taken a bite of cinnamon toast crunch cereal with a slight pear flavor at the end. The pear was subtle and soft but the cinnamon stole the show. The jam has all natural ingredients, no weird named preservatives and had a opened life of 30 days. It wont last that long, I must go back to try everything there and so should you. I think this jam would be lovely with a charcuterie board. Invite me over if you do I will help you devour it .
