First - if you're looking at this review because you are considering a groupon, I'd recommend calling Michelle first about pricing directly. Salons pay for Groupons and do not make as much when they are used. Secondly - this was the best thing I have ever done to my hair in my LIFE. I am Hispanic, just for anyone who has ethnic hair as myself.Normally when my hair is straightened it's still very thick. And humidity or sweat will bring on the curls and the frizz within seconds. When Michelle straightened my hair during the process, it was like magic. My hair was SO thin looking and SO healthy looking. It was insane. As another reviewer stated, the real test was when I washed my hair myself. I did, and my normally VERY curly, VERY thick hair was still extremely tame when it dried. Never in my life did I think I could have normal hair. I am beyond happy. I get compliments every day. Michelle gave me a brazillian blowout and I love it! My hair was immediately more tame and shiny. She was very friendly and even let me play on her computer while she painstakingly straightened my hair for hours! (Learn from my mistake, bring some entertainment with you when you go :) I have medium curly to curly hair and it is very frizzy. I was hoping that I would be able to let it air dry after this treatment, but haven't found a way to do that yet. I purchase a Groupon voucher on March and I have been trying to schedule via Groupon booking an appointment on weekend as it was the only free time I have. I was declined for so many times. The whole month of April, Michelle was fully booked so I try to schedule it during weekdays because I have an event on 2nd of May. Luckily, she give me an appointment. She is informed me that there would be an additional $40 as my hair is long and thick. So I agree hoping she would make my hair straight. I always check the review and more infos on Brazilian Blowout so I was surprised when the whole BB finished in 1hr. I even ask her if it is done and she said yes. After 1 wash, my hair was just soft but the wavy is still there. As if there was no BB done to my hair. I'm surprised to see some of the negative reviews on here. I've been going to Michelle to get my Brazilian blowouts for a couple of years now and I am happy every time I leave. This treatment is the best thing I have ever done for my hair. Michelle is really nice and anytime I text her to make an appointment she works around my schedule (I'm here now on a Sunday when the salon is normally closed). I also really appreciate the fact that she provides a face mask and vent so I don't have to breathe in the fumes - I haven't heard about other salons doing that! If you had a bad experience with Michelle because of scheduling or pricing I would definitely recommend giving her a second chance. Update: I didn't tell her that I posted a review but she told me that she would be upping the price she charges me. I asked her why but she didn't have a response. It will still be a good deal but the price changes are definitely frustrating. I used to see Michelle pretty regularly a couple of years ago, and then halted my Brazilian blowouts when I got pregnant with my third son. I just returned after a 2 year hiatus, and I absolutely have to brag on her. I normally see her just for the blowouts, and will go the day after getting my hair colored. This time, I got my hair cut and colored the day before, and the place I went to completely butchered my hair. I had super long, thick, tailbone-length hair, and wanted the stylist to cut it to my waist, and add dramatic layers. This stylist "accidentally" cut it to my chest, with a super jagged line, and did three very blunt, uneven layers that looked like stair steps. When I went in for my blowout, I told Michelle what happened and asked if she could squeeze in a trim to correct what had been done with the layers, because obviously, there's nothing I could do about the lost length! She fixed the layers to the best of her ability, and evened out my hair all around. She was incredibly meticulous about what she did, and checked and rechecked to make sure everything was in line. She didn't rush, or try to "squeeze it in" since it was additional work and put us over our time. I was super appreciative of that. I really appreciate that she took her time with both tasks, and didn't dial down the quality to make up for time. She's quick and punctual, but incredibly thorough. She makes sure to do everything with a perfect end result. As far as the blowouts go, my hair is super straight to begin with, I just do it to eliminate any frizz, minimize split ends, and give it a super shine that makes it look amazing even when just air drying. Michelle's blowouts usually last me a minimum of 6 months, usually longer in the fall and winter. She pays massive attention to air quality, and I've NEVER seen anyone else, let alone fully equipped salons take as many precautions as her. I recently purchased a Brazilian Blowout on Groupon for Michelle Lee. I haven't had this done before, so I was nervous. Michelle did a great job, and I left with hair straighter than I've ever had in my life! She answered all of my questions and is very friendly. She is also very flexible. I originally made an appointment, but had a last minute meeting come up, and when I called, she offered to contact other clients to see if they wanted to move their appointments. I was able to get in within the week! One thing I'd like to point out about the Brazilian blowout after care is, the website for the product says not to get your hair wet AT ALL for 72 hours after the treatment. I asked about it and was told I could wet it, but not to use shampoo. :( So I rinsed it the same day, not realizing this was the recommendation from the product. It still looks nice, but I wonder if it won't last as long now, or if I ruined it. It tried somewhat straight (I let it air dry) and I was able to straight iron it the next morning. I have had a blowout from Michelle twice now, and I will return again. She does a great job and I love the way my hair is after it is done. One thing that puts Michelle above the rest is her attention to air quality. Might sound funny at first, but if you've ever had a blowout, you know that the chemical smell is overwhelming and burns your eyes. However, the frizz-free was short-lived - after just a couple washes (using sulfate-free products) my hair began to frizz again. Back to the flat-iron... I just got a Japanese hair straightening treatment with Michelle on 1/31. I have very kinky hair that is hard to manage and had been using relaxers in the past. It only took 3 hours instead of the 5-6 I was used to. She did not over process my hair, and it turned out soft, straight, silky, and easy to manage. I was so disappointed. This is an expensive treatment. I've had it done 3 times a year for 4 years, so I know what it's supposed to be about. Michelle did it start to finish in 50 mins. That is impossible and have it done right. The under portion of my hair is curled and slightly frizzed still.
