I have been going to Michelle for almost 3 years now and I couldn't be happier. I started with her as a Groupon customer and quickly realized I would be returning as a regular because she did such a great job. I have occasionally ventured out to try other salons that offer Brazilian Blowout that are a little closer to Cedar Park and none have done as good a job as Michelle. My hair is naturally frizzy and curly, the treatment takes out all of the frizz and leaves waves that I don't have to blow dry for months. read more

First - if you're looking at this review because you are considering a groupon, I'd recommend calling Michelle first about pricing directly. Salons pay for Groupons and do not make as much when they are used. Secondly - this was the best thing I have ever done to my hair in my LIFE. I am Hispanic, just for anyone who has ethnic hair as myself.Normally when my hair is straightened it's still very thick. And humidity or sweat will bring on the curls and the frizz within seconds. When Michelle straightened my hair during the process, it was like magic. My hair was SO thin looking and SO healthy looking. It was insane. As another reviewer stated, the real test was when I washed my hair myself. I did, and my normally VERY curly, VERY thick hair was still extremely tame when it dried. Never in my life did I think I could have normal hair. I am beyond happy. I get compliments every day. It was such a huge difference that people thought I got a haircut or did something else to my hair. They couldn't believe it was just a treatment. Go to Michelle Lee. She keeps her appointment with you, she's timely, and she's someone that you can totally trust. Also - Make sure you read up on Brazillian Blowout aftercare. I forgot to ask and she didn't mention it, but i highly recommend researching that part as well. read more

Michelle gave me a brazillian blowout and I love it! My hair was immediately more tame and shiny. She was very friendly and even let me play on her computer while she painstakingly straightened my hair for hours! (Learn from my mistake, bring some entertainment with you when you go :) I have medium curly to curly hair and it is very frizzy. I was hoping that I would be able to let it air dry after this treatment, but haven't found a way to do that yet. It is definitely easier to blow dry and you don't have to dry it perfectly for an hour then curl it or straighten it to make it look great. I'm very happy with my blowout! read more

I purchase a Groupon voucher on March and I have been trying to schedule via Groupon booking an appointment on weekend as it was the only free time I have. I was declined for so many times. The whole month of April, Michelle was fully booked so I try to schedule it during weekdays because I have an event on 2nd of May. Luckily, she give me an appointment. She is informed me that there would be an additional $40 as my hair is long and thick. So I agree hoping she would make my hair straight. I always check the review and more infos on Brazilian Blowout so I was surprised when the whole BB finished in 1hr. I even ask her if it is done and she said yes. After 1 wash, my hair was just soft but the wavy is still there. As if there was no BB done to my hair. Almost spent $300 for the treatment and products but no major changes happen to my hair. read more

I'm surprised to see some of the negative reviews on here. I've been going to Michelle to get my Brazilian blowouts for a couple of years now and I am happy every time I leave. This treatment is the best thing I have ever done for my hair. Michelle is really nice and anytime I text her to make an appointment she works around my schedule (I'm here now on a Sunday when the salon is normally closed). I also really appreciate the fact that she provides a face mask and vent so I don't have to breathe in the fumes - I haven't heard about other salons doing that! If you had a bad experience with Michelle because of scheduling or pricing I would definitely recommend giving her a second chance. Update: I didn't tell her that I posted a review but she told me that she would be upping the price she charges me. I asked her why but she didn't have a response. It will still be a good deal but the price changes are definitely frustrating. Kind of ironic that it happened on the same day I wrote a review defending her against some of the price change complaints! read more

I contacted Michelle Lee with questions about her Groupon. She was very responsive and friendly and honored the Groupon price without the purchase of the groupon (I was too late). Her Brazilian Blowout was the best I've ever had in Austin. I had it done in mid-September and my hair is still much less frizzy than usual and it's January. I'm making another appointment this month and I'm very glad I finally found the best BB in all of Austin. Michelle also ordered the brand of hair dye I prefer for my resistant grays. She's awesome! read more

After years in the Texas heat I finally decided to try a Brazilian blowout. I was referred to Michelle by a friend and it's been a total game changer. I've never been able to let my hair air dry - I have longish wavy and frizzy fine hair. My hair air dries straight and shiny. Not sure why I haven't been doing this longer. Michelle is great. Pays attention to air quality during the treatment and it was super quick. Recommend. read more

I recently purchased a Brazilian Blowout on Groupon for Michelle Lee. I haven't had this done before, so I was nervous. Michelle did a great job, and I left with hair straighter than I've ever had in my life! She answered all of my questions and is very friendly. She is also very flexible. I originally made an appointment, but had a last minute meeting come up, and when I called, she offered to contact other clients to see if they wanted to move their appointments. I was able to get in within the week! One thing I'd like to point out about the Brazilian blowout after care is, the website for the product says not to get your hair wet AT ALL for 72 hours after the treatment. I asked about it and was told I could wet it, but not to use shampoo. :( So I rinsed it the same day, not realizing this was the recommendation from the product. It still looks nice, but I wonder if it won't last as long now, or if I ruined it. It tried somewhat straight (I let it air dry) and I was able to straight iron it the next morning. Oh well, now I know for next time. Regardless, she gets a 5 from me for a job well done, friendliness, and her willingness to accommodate my schedule. :) P.S. I have had a blowout from Michelle twice now, and I will return again. She does a great job and I love the way my hair is after it is done. One thing that puts Michelle above the rest is her attention to air quality. Might sound funny at first, but if you've ever had a blowout, you know that the chemical smell is overwhelming and burns your eyes. Michelle has air purifiers and devices to pull the fumes away from her clients. Brilliant! Prices are competitive and the results are long lasting. Highly recommend! read more

I used to see Michelle pretty regularly a couple of years ago, and then halted my Brazilian blowouts when I got pregnant with my third son. I just returned after a 2 year hiatus, and I absolutely have to brag on her. I normally see her just for the blowouts, and will go the day after getting my hair colored. This time, I got my hair cut and colored the day before, and the place I went to completely butchered my hair. I had super long, thick, tailbone-length hair, and wanted the stylist to cut it to my waist, and add dramatic layers. This stylist "accidentally" cut it to my chest, with a super jagged line, and did three very blunt, uneven layers that looked like stair steps. When I went in for my blowout, I told Michelle what happened and asked if she could squeeze in a trim to correct what had been done with the layers, because obviously, there's nothing I could do about the lost length! She fixed the layers to the best of her ability, and evened out my hair all around. She was incredibly meticulous about what she did, and checked and rechecked to make sure everything was in line. She didn't rush, or try to "squeeze it in" since it was additional work and put us over our time. I was super appreciative of that. I really appreciate that she took her time with both tasks, and didn't dial down the quality to make up for time. She's quick and punctual, but incredibly thorough. She makes sure to do everything with a perfect end result. As far as the blowouts go, my hair is super straight to begin with, I just do it to eliminate any frizz, minimize split ends, and give it a super shine that makes it look amazing even when just air drying. Michelle's blowouts usually last me a minimum of 6 months, usually longer in the fall and winter. She pays massive attention to air quality, and I've NEVER seen anyone else, let alone fully equipped salons take as many precautions as her. She's usually booked from sun-up to sun-down, but will absolutely work with you to get you in. read more

Michelle did my Brazilian blowout in 45 minutes and it lasted 5 months. No kidding. I was so pleased. I used a Groupon and it was so reasonable. I have fine hair that is medium curly. I was able to go all summer without blowdrying. Nice. read more

I purchased a Groupon for Brazilian Blow-out from Michelle. She is amazingly fast at performing the service. The results looked amazing when she was done. However, the frizz-free was short-lived - after just a couple washes (using sulfate-free products) my hair began to frizz again. Back to the flat-iron... She's getting a bonus point for her excellent pricing, because even with the moderate frizz that came back, I still save a significant amount of flat-iron time after the service. read more

I returned to Michelle after about a year of no Brazilian blowouts and I don't know why I stopped going to her! She is amazing and so fast and thorough. My hair looks absolutely gorgeous, shiny and is so easy to style. If you need an appointment, call her directly. She does an amazing job so of course she's busy! Thanks Michelle for making me a happy and returning customer! read more

I purchased the Groupon for the Brazilian Blowout, but redeeming it was a task. I phoned Ms. Lee to schedule an appointment, but she was unable to do so at that moment and promised to call me back. I never received a return phone call. I decided to drive in the next day and was happy to see the "Walk-ins Welcome" sign on the front door. I spoke with Ms. Lee in person and she conveniently scheduled me for that day with an hour wait for the service. However after my revealing I had Pre-paid for the service under Groupon, Ms. Lee refused to keep the scheduled appointment and rescheduled me for 17 days later. So, walk-ins aren't welcome? Or only if they are not pre-paid Groupons? are clients then treated unequally? read more

I bought the Japanese Straightening Groupon and contacted Michelle Lee to set-up an appt. It was a strange interaction; I normally like to speak to someone on the phone but Michelle would only text. It was also a little difficult to reach her at first and she only had an opening close to the date the Groupon expired, which is somewhat hard to believe. When something came up and I asked to reschedule, she never responded to me and went MIA. In the end, I went to Milk and Honey and was happy that I did despite it being more expensive read more

My hairs have many problems since I was born like very thin and easily broken after coloring or perm. So I am always picky about choosing a hair designer and it's very hard to be satisfied. I've lived in austin for 3yrs and I cuouldn't find one who handle my hairs. However, One of my coworker recommened Michelle's Salon but I didn't expect much though. However I am so happy now because my hair texture is just wonderful , It looks like gold, real gold!!!!. read more

Been going to Michelle for almost 2 years, she is awesome! Also I'm in and out within 1.5 hours where other places took up to 3+ hours. She's very efficient and so happy with my hair. Highly recommend! read more

I just got a Japanese hair straightening treatment with Michelle on 1/31. I have very kinky hair that is hard to manage and had been using relaxers in the past. It only took 3 hours instead of the 5-6 I was used to. She did not over process my hair, and it turned out soft, straight, silky, and easy to manage. She was professional, friendly, courteous and the appointment was on time, . I felt comfortable with her and she was very cautious about making sure my hair would not be damaged in the process. Her prices are also reasonable. The salon itself is nice, clean, inviting, and in a convenient location. I have recommended her to friends and family personally. She does book up quickly, and it may take you a couple of weeks to get in, but she is worth the wait! read more

She didn't want to answer any questions over the phone, all she wanted to schedule my appointment over the text message. I wanted to get my blowout ASAP, being unprofessional she texts me saying she won't have time until sept 1. read more

I was so disappointed. This is an expensive treatment. I've had it done 3 times a year for 4 years, so I know what it's supposed to be about. Michelle did it start to finish in 50 mins. That is impossible and have it done right. The under portion of my hair is curled and slightly frizzed still. Then AFTER she was done she decided to tell me I have thick hair and that would be another $25. What? I didn't have thick hair when I sat done in the chair. That would have been a good time to tell me. I've NEVER been told I have thick hair. read more

I really loved Michelle. I've been getting Japanese Keratin straightening treatments elsewhere for two years and over time the quality has really diminished. I contacted Michelle after seeing she was offering a groupon for Brazillian Blowouts and thought I would try it out. I'm a changed woman! I will always go to Michelle and I will stick with the Brazillian Blowouts from here on out. I really appreciated that she gave me a face mask and has a vent to avoid breathing in fumes. I haven't seen anyone else do this before. I will definitely be returning! read more
