    I am so happy to have found Michele's grooming shop. After moving to the area I was on the search for a new grooming salon and after a same day consultation and full groom for my Pomeranian, I walked away a dedicated customer. Michele and her staff are friendly, they love animals, and nailed exactly what kind of cut I wanted for my pup. I highly recommend Michele and her staff. I appreciate all they do and will be a lifelong customer!

    Patchy shave down and I did not want his hair shaved

    I'm really sad because I read all these great reviews before taking my dog here. I asked for his leg hair to be shorter and for the white to be cut off of his face and ears. When I came to get him, he was completely SHAVED down all over his body. And the places I actually wanted his hair short is longer than his body hair. Not to mention it's a patchy on the left side of his body. I'm embarrassed for people to see him. He was also extremely stressed out and breathing like he had asthma for hours and hours after I picked him up. He was also there for 7 hours!! I explained that he was scared and that I had only had him for less than a year and they said they would try to get to him sooner. I waited all day and never heard anything so called around 4 and they said to come get him around 5:30 because that's when they would be closing. He's upset and walking with his tail down. Oh and his tail even looks bad. They were nice but I am not happy at all. Maybe they do great sometimes, but if you love your dog like I love mine, I do not recommend.

    Listen!! I commute from midtown twice per month just to come here. WHY? 1. Price 2. Service 3. Results/Quality I started coming to Michele's about 9 months ago. Prior to finding them I was taking my dog to Petsmart right on my street where they were charging me an absurd amount of money only to do nothing right. With Petsmart, My dog would come home and still be matted even after I paid them to de-mat him. My very first appointment with Michele's was a de-mat service. Because he was matted so badly I agreed that if they had to shave him that would be ok but if they could save his hair I would really prefer that. I paid for their time to de-mat him and they did it! Every since then his hair has recovered and now it's nice and healthy, and thick again! I really love the way my dogs hair has been taken care of. He looks beautiful! On top of his appearance they have been very friendly and easy to work with. My dogs hair always gets tangled and they comb it without charging me five hundred thousand dollars. NEW CUSTOMER TIP: I was once a new customer and it was difficult to get an appointment but once I got an appointment that worked - I kept going on the same day every time I took him. You have to figure out a time and start making reoccurring appointments. I go every two weeks because I have a long haired dog. This Salon is 25 times better than Petsmart. I've had a pet for over 15 years and I wish I had known about them 15 years ago!

    Such a great find. I have an incredibly nervous rescue aussie. They always take their time with him and make sure Remi is comfortable. Every time I come to pick him up he's so happy and calm. His haircut is always perfect. I never knew his coat was so soft. I can't thank them enough for caring for my Remi as if he was their own!

    My Kobe's first visit today was fabulous. He came home smelling so good. The staff was wonderful and took good care of my Lab mix. I want to get him on a recurring schedule.

    Excellent service, groomers, and care for my pup! He got his Summer cut yesterday. I booked his appt a week in advance, dropped him at 10am, and picked up at 6pm. He got to play with other dogs since I showed proof of his updated vaccines, so he LOVED it! He actually didn't want to leave, which shocked me since it's a grooming place! his cut was EXACTLY what we asked for, too. Thanks, Michele's! See y'all in a month and a half!

    Very talented groomer. I took my miniature schnauzer to get his first grooming today. They did a wonderful job, very professional and all at a fair price. I definitely would recommend bringing your dog here.

    They did a great job grooming my snoodle! The price was fair and the employees were very sweet. They only take cash or check.

    I have been using this service with Yvette Gayle for 5 years. My friend came by during the week…read morewhile I was out of town and Yvette was supposed to be feeding my cat. He had no food or water and had tried to tear open his food bag. Yvette said it was a scheduling error and she would make up for it by coming extra days. I used her for so long I assumed it was a mistake and she was telling the truth. So the next time I went out of town, I thought about it and just to make sure since this is my cat's welfare, I checked up on her. I left sunday. I called my alarm company saturday. Nobody had been to my house. My cat didn't have enough food and water to last that long. I had to ask friends to go by the rest of the time I was out of town to check on my cat even though I was paying for Yvette to do that service. Unfortunately I couldn't trust that she would come over. And it says on the website she is supposed to stay 30 minutes. She was at my house for 7 minutes after not coming by for almost a week. So I also checked back on the previous time I was out of town when she claimed it was a scheduling error. She sent me an email telling me specific days she was going by my house to make up for the scheduling error and according to my alarm log history, she still skipped out. I was sick to think how often my cat was hungry or thirsty because I go out of town often and relied on her to take care of them.

I had never boarded a dog before and I was so nervous…read moreto do so, but they have always made me feel at ease that she loves to be there (she loses her mind when we get close to pulling in the parking lot, so that's always a good sign). We took her there even before the new management recently took over, and I've been thrilled with all of the updates they've made. They've recently done some renovations that make it look nice, the place actually smells CLEAN every single time (it used to reek of pee a lot of the time before new management took over), and the staff is super friendly. My dogs tail just wags when she sees some of the staff there. They're also getting a lot better about posting daily Instagram photos, and I love when I see my little girl pop up on the daily photos. They're prices are totally reasonable for both boarding and daycare (day camp is $28 and boarding is $40 a day) - yes, the prices increased recently, however I still feel like the costs are reasonable. They have an online service that makes it super easy to request daycare or boarding and they're really quick to confirm your reservation (before you'd have to call and pray someone picked up the phone to reserve anything) Huge kudos to the new management for what they've done, and to the entire staff for making my baby feel comfortable to be there!

However, my most recent experience has me questioning the company's integrity. The dog I have now was boarded at Bark Ave from 09/24/24 - 09/30/24. When I dropped her off on Wednesday of last week she was in good health and I requested that she have a bath before I pick her up on 09/30. When I picked her up on Monday, the assistant manager brought her out, I paid them & left. My dog was very quiet, mind you after not seeing me in 5 days. When we got home she started rubbing her had on the floor and shaking her head. I took a look at her and noticed her left eye was swollen shut, so I had to open her eye to see what was going on. Her eye was so red it looked like it was bleeding and burned or something. I called Bark Ave and spoke with the assistant manager. I sent her a picture. She agreed that it was swollen. I asked what happened, she stated she was aware of any incidents that could have caused this. I immediately took my dog to the vet. The doctor examined my dog's eye and diagnosed her with a superficial Corneal Abrasion. He also stated that the abrasion could have been caused by the shampoo that was used for her bath. I informed Bark ave of the diagnosis and they immediately began to deny that this incident was not caused by their staff. I absolutely disagreed and requested to speak with the owner or manager. The owner immediately sent me an email denying any involvement with causing this injury. I sent the owner a copy of the doctor's note, her response was since the doctor mentioned that "the shampoo could have been the cause, but could not confirm" she is not responsible. What business person who really cares about the people/pets that they service, would deny the possibility of a simple human error? We all know that shampoo could have easily dripped into a dog's eye while the dog is moving around when being bathed. I used to speak very highly of Bark Avenue Pet Resort and I've also referred a couple of people... Not anymore. I have attached a picture of my dog when we got home from the vet's office.
