I'm really sad because I read all these great reviews before taking my dog here. I asked for his leg hair to be shorter and for the white to be cut off of his face and ears. When I came to get him, he was completely SHAVED down all over his body. And the places I actually wanted his hair short is longer than his body hair. Not to mention it's a patchy on the left side of his body. I'm embarrassed for people to see him. He was also extremely stressed out and breathing like he had asthma for hours and hours after I picked him up. He was also there for 7 hours!! I explained that he was scared and that I had only had him for less than a year and they said they would try to get to him sooner. I waited all day and never heard anything so called around 4 and they said to come get him around 5:30 because that's when they would be closing. He's upset and walking with his tail down. Oh and his tail even looks bad. They were nice but I am not happy at all. Maybe they do great sometimes, but if you love your dog like I love mine, I do not recommend. read more

Listen!! I commute from midtown twice per month just to come here. WHY? 1. Price 2. Service 3. Results/Quality I started coming to Michele's about 9 months ago. Prior to finding them I was taking my dog to Petsmart right on my street where they were charging me an absurd amount of money only to do nothing right. With Petsmart, My dog would come home and still be matted even after I paid them to de-mat him. My very first appointment with Michele's was a de-mat service. Because he was matted so badly I agreed that if they had to shave him that would be ok but if they could save his hair I would really prefer that. I paid for their time to de-mat him and they did it! Every since then his hair has recovered and now it's nice and healthy, and thick again! I really love the way my dogs hair has been taken care of. He looks beautiful! On top of his appearance they have been very friendly and easy to work with. My dogs hair always gets tangled and they comb it without charging me five hundred thousand dollars. NEW CUSTOMER TIP: I was once a new customer and it was difficult to get an appointment but once I got an appointment that worked - I kept going on the same day every time I took him. You have to figure out a time and start making reoccurring appointments. I go every two weeks because I have a long haired dog. This Salon is 25 times better than Petsmart. This past Christmas we became puppy parents and we had been talking about getting Puma groomed for a while. He is a border terrier mix with lots of hair! I searched on Yelp and came upon Michele's Grooming, which happened to be about 10 mins away from the house. The business is kind of hard to find because it's in a plaza with tons of other businesses and the signage isn't all that attractive. Nonetheless, we found it. As we walked in with Puma, we were greeted with lots of enthusiasm by Michele herself along with her faithful employees and energetic puppies! You can tell they've been in business for a while because while we were completely uneasy, Michele took the reigns of the conversation and told us what Puma's day would look like and what the process would be. She told us if that he did well, he would stay all day to get acclimated to the grooming process as well as the staff and if he did not do well, we would get a call a bit earlier. Well let me telllll you! Puma stayed there all daggone day! From 11:30 when we dropped him off til almost 5pm at night he was there! By the time we picked him up it was almost dark and he looked so handsome and he smelled so good! They did a THOROUGH job for a very decent price. They don't overcharge you like some of these local pet stores do. We will definitely be bringing our pup back for excellent service. read more

Well deserved 5 stars as I'm so glad I found this place. Went here to have my dogs nail trimmed which is no easy task. Every other place I have taken her to she has not cooperated and whined throughout. Was lucky enough that the young lady who said she is called Muffin was free to help me. You can really tell she loves dogs as much as her job. My dog did not whine once and although she did squirm, Muffin didn't get frustrated, kept petting her as she finished the task at hand. So far, dropping potato, my dog, off was very nice. I've been to another groomer for a little bit, I'm sure you can find it in my previous review, and I was looking for something new. I found this place after looking all over Yelp for a good groomer that was close by my home. Why I picked this place above all the others, was that I read that they cut your dog's hair when they feel ready to. They let the dogs play and become comfortable with the shop. I was honestly sold after hearing that. They don't lock up the dogs like other groomers do. If your dog happens to be naughty, they would either cut the dog's hair earlier or give you a call. But if your dog is having fun, they let your dog have fun. Honestly, that is all I want in a groomer. I love that it was dog-centered. Their location was very easy to get too, and parking was plentiful. When I walked to the building, it was a little chaotic, but in a good way. I did notice a stale smell of someone who previously smoked both time I walked in, but I'm hoping that was a customer. I made my appointment earlier in the week, and when I dropped my dog on Friday, we did have a super baby hiccup in finding my name. We found it. To be honest, I was super nervous in leaving my dog, because he is just okay. He can be a little naughty, so I let the ladies know to call me immediately if he misbehaves. They loved him. He was apparently very good. Maybe having the dog having fun is good for them, who knew? (sarcasm) I asked them to make sure not to cut his fur so close to the skin like the other groomer had done. I just wanted them to lighten the coat, which they did. You could tell that he got a cut - but not so much that you think that he have to buy a doggy coat for him. It was a very clean cut. They trimmed his nails and cut the hair around the paw. You are able to pay before or after the cut, they only take cash or check. I did notice that he was itching more so after his grooming session. That is the only reason why I took away a star. I'm hoping that he just happened to pick up a bug bite from another dog. I would come back here. I am very pleased with their service. read more

I'm not sure I can adequately express how happy we are to have stumbled across this little GEM. Everyone there LOVES the dogs and their job. The animals are loved on and taken very good care of. When we dropped the girls off we were asked if we would like their teeth brushed, it was very inexpensive and needed (we knew that), so we said yes. After they had groomed both of our dogs and brushed their teeth we got a call to let us know they had noticed a build up of plaque in ones teeth. Would we like to have them take a little extra time to work on getting that off (she explained the process-not too invasive) so we said yes. When we arrived for pick up, they made sure to show us what plaque they had gotten off. I appreciated that, although I would've trusted they did what they said, it was nice to know that they wanted their clients to know what had been done. read more

Don't let the location and exterior deter you from bringing your dog here. Michele and her team are awesome and will take great care of your pets! I have used Michele's for my two senior, 13-pound terrier mixes for the past two years. One gets a schnauzer cut and the other one gets a teddy bear face and clipped everywhere else. I pay $35-ish per dog for those haircuts; YMMV, so ask for a quote first. Neither one of my dogs has ever had a bad cut at Michele's, and they don't seem afraid when I drop them off or upset when I pick them up. Michele's is really great about working with your personal schedule. They don't keep the dogs all day like some groomers do, but they will let the dogs stay all day if needed. I'm super picky when it comes to my dogs, and I have been consistently impressed and satisfied. The price is right and my dogs look great. Passing this place one Saturday morning I noticed a group of dog owners standing outside as if it was "American Idol try out for dogs". Oh they are waiting for this little place to open. Now my little doggie is a "wild one" always on the go, so I have to select his groomer with extra care. I decided to take a chance on this little small establishment, nothing fancy just 3 people grooming in a small space in an even small shopping plaza. Nothing razzle dazzle about it. Normally they only take appointments, but they were able to squeeze my little guy in. Warning: Call before you go, there is not a 2 week waiting list) 3 Hours later I go to pick him up he looks so adorable, the cut was just right. Normally other groomers have cut him to short and too rushed looking. This place is AWESOME... they actually CARE... And while the facility was in the process of getting another groomer, I did not want to risk my dogs having a bad experience. I dropped my dogs off at 10 and they were done by noon. Was referred to Michele by a neighbor, I have a little doggy who does not like his nails clipped at all. Let's just say when we try to do it, the ordeal lasts 30+ minutes, we are tired, he is tired, just stressful all the way around. So I call Michele's they tell me to bring him by anytime (they usually require an appointment so call first to save yourself a trip.) I take him in, they hold him and get his nails trimmed in less than 5 minutes. SOLD! I will never go through the stress of this again. Plus they charged $5, WOW! SOLD again! Now this is just a very simple establishment, so all of you who are used to the finer places in the ATL area (and you are going to pay for it too) don't bother coming here, or do, and save your $$$, have your dogs love this place and it is close to home. Ms. Shelby (Business Owner) has been grooming and caring for my Cocker Spaniels since she was a teenager working for her Mom (the original Michelle), over two decades ago. She does beautiful work, is HONEST, professional, and most important to me, she truly loves animals and cares for every pet in her custody as if it were her own. The greatest proof of this is how happy and excited my pets are to enter her shop. The staff all know their names, and they are welcomed like family. I have never been displeased with the grooming done on my pet, but I know that if I were, Ms. Shelby would do everything reasonable to make amends. I really want to give this place a five star. Because the people there work really hard and care for the animals well. The 3 stars is for a variety of reasons. They are only open wed-sat which makes it nearly impossible to get an appointment (if they actually answer the phone). The first time I brought my dog, they seemed very frazzled a quickly took my dog in at around 9am. They did not call me to come get my dog until 6pm! They said they were super busy and short staffed. I get it, I've been there. But I've never had to wait that long to pick up my dog and he gets nervous when he's in a new place and I was worried. They were very nice upon pick up and even gave him a bandana. So I thought, I'll give another try. Attempted for a week to make an appointment. No answer. I called, left messages and emails and no reply. Finally I get an answer and I'm told they are booked as far as a week out. I'm not sure who I was speaking to but she wasn't nearly as friendly as the women I spoke with before. It sucks the options for grooming are so limited around here. I have been using Michele's Grooming almost two years and would not even think about taking my dog to another grooming salon. This is a small mom and pop pet grooming salon located in a shopping center that you can easily pass. Multiple parking is available due to it being somewhat connected to other shopping areas. I stumbled across this place after searching tirelessly for a grooming place that wasn't so commercialized like PetSmart, not expensive, and would treat my dog right. Before taking my dog the first time I stopped by the place to get a feel for the owners/groomers and I was instantly pleased with their warm demeanor. Lets just say they charge almost half the price other salons would charge for all the added services. In many areas they need to be updated such as only accepting cash or check. I rarely carry cash on me so that is a little inconvenience but hey I work with it. Also I discovered for their clients they do boarding for a very small fee. The staff is very knowledgeable especially when my dog had an upset stomach and dry skin. They gave me some home remedies that work. This passed weekend I got my dog got a shape up (small cut to even out the body), teeth brushed, washed, glands cleaned, and two cute bows for $41. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a warm and friendly staff that will give your pet a home and personable feeling. Their clientele is growing at one point I could call a day or two in advance to schedule a Saturday appointment now I have to call a week in advance on most times. They are only open Wednesday-Saturday and will try to have your dog ready by a specific time, they really work with you. read more

Michelle's was recommended my old vet at Mableton Veterinarian Clinic over 10 years ago. All the years I've been going to Michele's I'm finally doing a review. Michelle is great. The place is busy but she's was able to squeeze my two doggies in for a nail clipping when I called last Saturday. I went in and took about 10 minutes. One of my doggies was being really difficult but Michelle handle her tenderly and quickly. She was done before Coco could put up a fuss. Its located in small shopping center next to a tattoo shop in the dead part of Mableton. They're appointments open unless its something quick like a nail clipping but be sure to call ahead to be sure. This place is part of my pet family including Mr. Bill (who passed), CoCo, and the new addition Clark so I'll continue be a customer.
