I take my Bella here. Bella has a very bad back. Plus shes not dog friendly but full of love for people. At Befur and After they are very careful with her back. Usually dogs aren't crazy about being left at the groomer. However Bellas tail wags when I take her in and she's actually happy to be there. Your dog will Always let you know how their experience was. Bella enjoys going there and they do a wonderful job grooming her. Yes I wish she didn't have to be there so long most likely in a crate until they can get to her. But until Bella shows me shes not happy going there then Im going to keep them as her groomer. In fact I have another doggie Im going to start taking there. Everyone working at Befur and after is really nice. They always ask if theres any issues your dog may have before you leave your doggie kid. They honestly care. I highly recommend them. read more

I took my two dogs in for grooming last week. At the time I made the appointment I gave specific instructions as to how I wanted them cut. Also, they told me I could text in an image of what I wanted for them. I did. I was very specific in what I wanted. When I picked them up neither looked even remotely how I wanted them and my white poodle wasn't even brushed out in some parts. I took the attached pictures in the parking lot of the shop immediately after I picked them up. This is my poodle freshly "groomed". I have texted multiple messages to the manager. I have left verbal messages twice. NO ONE HAS CALLED ME! NEVER AGAIN. I won't go there ever again. I asked for a very full face. The staff was incredibly nice and the groomers know how to groom. My lower rating is because you have to be VERY specific with length. I asked for a trim around the face and came home with a shaved dog. I thought I was clear and have been crying for days. Unfortunately, if you cut my breed's fur too short it won't grow back correctly, but they seem to give every other dog in this breed the same cut. I'm slightly devastated, but it is what it is. They also take walk ins which may be nice if you haven't scheduled anything. But again, be very specific. read more

Ive been using Befur & After over 2 yrs. I really like all the staff there. Especially Kim & MackenzieAll the groomers are very nice to my doggie kids. The Most important part is my doggie kids go in wagging their tails. If your bonded with your pets you will know the signs wether ppl are nice with them when your not around! My two are happy going there. One of my kids has a very bad back & everyone there is careful handling her. God bless them Only reason I didn't give 5 is I may be picker then most ppl. I like my doggie kids hand blown from the start, not that blower machine in a crate which I believe everyone uses, not just them. Then just a few nit picky stuff is they don't use dog perfume. But at least my kids smell very clean just no doggie fragrance. I believe that should be included with the price. I just realized maybe they do use doggie perfume but charge xtra for it. Ive never asked nor would I want to pay xtra for that... The fact that the groomers listen to what you'd like done and are gentle with my kids is perhaps the most important part of it allMaybe I should have given them 5 . My review is a bit delayed because I didn't realize I never did it. However, I was referred to this place by my vet and I wish I didn't bring my puppy here. When I arrived, because I used the phrase "puppy cut" instead of trim, the groomer proceeded to inform, in a rather scolding manner, that puppies don't get hairCUTS. Well, you are still using shears, and shears do what?-- cut. She went on & on for about 15 minutes with this. She even went on to infer that I'm not well informed about my dog because I had him for "only 2 months"???? WTH?! LoL, I've certainly had a puppy before, but I didn't need to prove anything to her. I should have left then, but I was trying to take the vet's recommendation AND I didn't want to bring my puppy to PetSmart. Nevertheless, I left my pup for the puppy TRIM service...that he had a 10am appt for (she went on& on until it was almost 10:30). He was there until 4pm. It took them a whole FIVE hours to do a puppy trim...with an appointment?! His service was just, meh. Very old fashioned for a 4 month old. Needless to say, he hasn't been back. read more

I took my beagle in yesterday for a bath. I used Befur and After regularly when they first opened and they always did an outstanding job, but things started going downhill and I had a not-great experience and found another groomer. Having read comments that there was new ownership and staff I decided to try Befur and After again and could not be more disappointed. When I picked up my dog, who was to have a bath and anti-shedding shampoo and brush-out, I was told that her nails bled a bit and that I could use flour or cornstarch to eliminate the breathing. My dog was still slightly wet and, when we got to the car, I noticed she had brown wet spots on her back legs. Upon arriving home I used a towel to try her off a bit and immediately realized that she had not been brushed at all - so much hair flew everywhere! I checked out her nails and they are all uneven and look rough. I will never take a pet back to this location and would recommend pet owners find more reputable groomers, as well. The first time we went, I was very excited because they were helpful over the phone and it was my dogs very first grooming experience. She's a miniature Australian Shepherd and is only about 25 pounds. Our first experience was great, they were quick and attentive, however, when we went back a second time, Lucy was TERRIFIED to even go inside. She was shaking and was absolutely afraid to go inside. I gave them the benefit of the doubt as she can be anxious but when we got her back, she was still just afraid. Her cut the second time was poorly done and uneven. After that, I would not go back. We found a new groomer to see if Lucy would have the same reaction and she does not. I showed the groomer Brie very in depth pictures and we talked about what could be done and what couldn't be achieved. However, when I picked her up she looks horrible! Nothing like I described!! I took both my large black pitties here for a bath, ear cleaning, teeth cleaning and anal express. Although I can totally bathe them at home, having them come back to me clean and happy makes me feel so good and I get the chance to clean my house without interruptions instead. They took really good care of both my pups so I'm very happy with their service. The pups smelled nice, all paws were so clean and their ears were cleaned out. So went off reviews and decided to go here. Not sure if it was a 1 time thing or what. I was happy I could call and get in same day. Told them to trim nails, clean ears. Neither of which were completed. Haircut was avg. some hair in front of eyes were not trimmed and dog could barely see. Dog is a Maltease and just getting normal groom job. read more

Carly was incredibility awesome with our golden doodle! He was a mess and she really showed that she cared and wanted to make him look good. We brought him in on a Saturday afternoon and he was so matted and messy that it took the entire afternoon and she told she would stay late into the night to finish but we said we'll bring him back the next day. He looked fantastic when he was done! We took our dog to other groomers from the big box stores to other small shops and Befur and After did the best job! Wanted to update my previous review as I have two miniature schnauzers and recently took my 2nd one, Mary, to Ashley for her first grooming at Befur & After. Mary is 15, blind and deaf so as anyone with a geriatric dogs understands, presents some unique challenges for grooming. Couldn't be happier with the whole experience start to finish. The staff took extra time to make sure Mary was not stressed at drop-off and completed her entire grooming in under two hours so I could pick her up. Technically the cut was great but the customer service is something that will have us going back and back and back. Thanks, Ashley and staff, for taking such great care of our dogs. *******************************update to original review below******************************** Moved to Marietta about 18 months ago and have been having a lot of trouble finding a groomer that I like for my Miniature Schnauzer. Ran into a woman in PetSmart who recommended Befur & After so gave them a try today. This place is awesome. Ashley took all the time needed when I dropped my dog off pre-cut to ask how I wanted him done, make sure he was calm and go over him with me to make sure she understood what I wanted. When i picked him up just now I was blown away at how good a grooming she did, especially since most groomers need an appointment or two to "grow" into what you expect and want. No learning curve here as this was a great experience start to finish. Clearly a business that knows its stuff in terms of customer service and taking care of my pet. Update: So unfortunately I have to take away some stars. When my dog bubba left here, his eyes were kinda red. I figured maybe someone accidentally nicked him or something while shaving him so I didn't think much of it cause I couldn't find any scratches or bruises, and my dogs walked out happy. However, when I took my dogs to the vet today for a check up (2 days after their appointment), the doctor asked me what was going on with his eyes and I told him exactly what I told you up above. He explained to me that the only way to pop those particular blood vessels is if someone has your dogs in either a choke collar and they have it too tight, or if someone has my dog in a head lock of some form and is holding them to the point that their blood vessels pop. So he actually recommended I not go to this dog groomer anymore. I really hope this was just a mistake but you all need to make sure you're not choking the dogs when you're grooming them and trying to keep them still. It pains me to write this because I thought you all did such an awesome job but if what my vet said is true, I won't be back. read more

I have been going to this groomer for several years. A new owner has taken over and when I arrived today they had the two dogs mixed up on what one was supposed to have for the length of the fur. I thought I had it corrected but when I picked up the dogs they clearly were not groomed correctly and her face looked terrible she was uneven and when I asked to have them correct the face I was told the Groomer had already left for the day at approximately 230. The assistant who went to get the dogs almost dropped the cocker.I left a message for the owner to call I have not heard anything. read more

I was spending 200 a month on grooming for my 3 puppies and I was happy with the skills most of the time but towards the end when a problem arose I realized that customer service plays a big part in who I want to give my money too. I adopted a new puppy and needed him to get a bath, the day they came it was cold and raining, they only have two people running the vans, and the girl is who showed up, I probably used the black male Jonathan how is kind, patient and I never had issue with him, I was out of town and had someone at the house waiting on the groomer, I was informed my puppy was given back completely wet because " they don't dry puppies" I was never informed I would be paying full service for half service and especially to give me back my puppy wet on an ugly rainy day he ended up getting dirty when taking him out for potty breaks and smelled like wet dog when I called the groomer she was quick to have a bad attitude and told me to call management, what's even worse is the owner was informed of my situation by the girl I called first and when she called me back her voice mail was so unprofessional, a slight attitude and just very un bothered, you would think when you run a business you try to accommodate your customers especially when I'm a repeat and loyal customer. I take my babies here after trying many different groomers who just never quite got it right. They do an actual cut that is specific to the breed and genuinely seem excited to see my dogs. My dogs always come out looking and smelling incredible! Last time I dropped them off, they didn't even shake like they normally would when being left....probably because the staff makes it feel right at home when you walk in the door! So I called in to see when they will have available openings for grooming ONLY since I bathed my small dog 10 mins before calling them. They said they would've an opening at 1PM or 2 PM, my choice was 1PM since they said it would range from 1-2 hrs and we had to leave for a gathering at 4 PM so I considered time was appropriate, that I would get the dog around 3 to be just in time to pick up my family and go to our activity. Went back to their shop at 3:30 PM and they haven't touched her at all, my dog was on a cage since 12:50 PM and not ready so I had to take her back as a hair ball. read more

No stars! After reading the reviews I decided to try this groomer. I usually groom my two older dogs myself but i decided to take them to a "professional" because we are in the process of moving and all my supplies are packed for the move. I called to see about availability and price. I was told they could groom my dogs on Saturday and I should bring my dogs in at 12:00. When I arrived there were several other barking dogs in kernels. I wish I had left then! I was told the dogs would be ready around 3:00. I heard nothing fom them and I called at 4:00. A young man told me my dogs had just been bathed and blown out and were next to be cut and they should be ready in an hour. What!? Why did I bring them in at noon? Waited another hour and a half--5:30 p.m.--called back and the girl who answered the phone said the dogs hadn't been cut, "but they were next". What!? I told her I was coming to pick them up and she went to get the groomer on the phone. The groomer told me that they only work on the dogs in short time periods "so the dogs aren't stressed out". "Then they can nap between". I told her my dogs are stressed out by being kept in a kennel for 5 hours with barking dogs all around them!!! I'm sure most dogs would be. Then the truth came out, she said she had 22 dogs through there today! I said why did you tell me to bring mine? This groomer obviously can not handle that many dogs and really are not all that concerned with the stress on the pets. It appears it is all about moving through as many dogs as they can regardless of the stress on the pets. I picked up my dogs--it was 5:50 pm and they had only been washed and blown dry after all that time--5 hours and 50 minutes. When they came in my home they each drank water like crazy--were they given water there? Don't take your pets to this groomer!!!! read more

I brought my Poodle in for grooming and specifically told then not to shorten his ears or his tail. When I picked him up, his ears were chopped so short and so unevenly, I wanted to cry. The owner told me the groomer said "Oh yea, she said something about his ears, but I forgot." I DO NOT want someone like that grooming my dog ever again. read more

We've been taking our little guy Koa here for quite some time now and they do a lovely job. The lobby area is always very clean and the staff is welcoming. I have a Yorkie Pom mix that we used to take to Petsmart and he'd leave in such a hurry . I can tell by Koa's behavior that he enjoys his time here even though he can be a bit of a busy body.
