Speaking of frames, there are beautiful picture frames for sale, and the store's owner puts pictures of cats who are available for adoption from a local shelter in the frames. Nina has been working whenever I come in the store. She's a very friendly, pleasant person who lets me take my time and browse. The location of the shop is very convenient, as it is right across the street from the train station in downtown Fanwood. There is a large municipal lot in back that is free (enter via La Grande Ave.) Last week I found out that two close friends had lost their dogs. I went to Enchantments and Nina help me put together two beautiful necklaces with a tiny heart and a small disc that had the first initial of each dog stamped on it. She finished the necklaces off with pretty chains. My friends loved them.

The beginner adult class is great to get comfortable with the machine, winding a bobbin, and learning simple stitches all while creating your first product (a small drawstring pouch!). Everyone who joined the class was also so sweet and supportive. I'm sure it varies class to class, but it definitely felt like a great community. Urban Sewciety also has a small shop on the first level with beautifully curated fabrics and different projects that you can also take home to try. They also run different events (and sales) from time to time, so be on the lookout!
